‘I Just Forgot Where I Was’: Lamar Jackson’s Explosive Response After Fan Slaps Him and Teammate Has Fans Saying They’ve Never Seen This Side of Him

News - Tue, 09/09/2025 - 17:35

Baltimore Ravens superstar Lamar Jackson, 28, got into an interaction with a Buffalo Bills fan during his team’s 41-40 loss in New York on Sept. 7.

Jackson led the Ravens into Highmark Stadium to face the Bills and reigning NFL Most Valuable Player Josh Allen. Buffalo’s Matt Prater kicked the walk-off, game-winning field goal to cap off the comeback victory for his football squad.

But during the third quarter, Jackson was caught on camera getting into a scuffle with a Bills jersey-wearing man in the stands after the fan slapped the two-time MVP winner and his teammate, DeAndre Hopkins, on their helmets.

Jackson had just thrown a 29-yard touchdown pass to Hopkins to give the Ravens a 34-19 lead before the overzealous fan got too handsy with the players. The unwanted helmet slaps triggered the Ravens quarterback to shove the man with both hands.

According to ESPN, the fan was ejected from the stadium and has been indefinitely banned from Bills and NFL venues. In addition to those disciplinary actions against the Bills Mafia member, Jackson had to address his part in the situation as well.

“He slapped me, and he was talking, so I just forgot where I was for a little bit. You gotta think in those situations,” Jackson said during a postgame press conference when questioned about the brief skirmish on the football field.

The former University of Louisville student-athlete added, “You have security out there. Let security handle it. But I just let my emotions get the best of me. But hopefully, it won’t happen again. I learned from that.”

A clip of Jackson’s in-game confrontation and his answer to the media about the viral slapping incident made the rounds on social media. In particular, the “SportsCenter” Instagram account shared the footage with the page’s 38.0 million followers.

“Keep your hands off, people. Fans think they can do anything and not get touched,” one person commented in defense of Jackson.

Even some self-described Bills supporters sided with the Ravens’ dual-threat QB in the comment section. Someone else expressed, “Bills fan here. He was justified in his actions. Don’t touch players.”

“Nah, that kid was in the wrong 100%. This is coming from a Bills fan,” read a similar reply. However, Jackson caught heat when one individual posted, “You get paid hundreds of millions of dollars to not forget where you are.”

Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million contract extension in April 2023 that made him the highest-paid player in the NFL at the time. He was asked about possibly inking a new deal with the franchise just days before the season opener against Buffalo.

“The season’s here,” Jackson said during a conversation with the press on Sept. 3, per CBS Sports. “I’m not worried about that. You were better off asking me that during camp. But I’m locked in. I’m ready for the season to start. That time will come.”

Next up for Jackson and the Ravens is a home game in Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium versus the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 14. The Ravens Flock fanbase should not worry that their All-Pro play caller will avoid interacting with them on game days.

“I’ve never seen our fans do that,” Jackson told reporters when asked if he plans to limit how close he gets to the crowd during his TD celebrations. “So, I’ll probably do it again when we score a touchdown. It’s not nothing against the fans. I’m just celebrating when my teammates get a touchdown.”

Jackson finished the 2024 NFL regular season with 41 touchdowns and 4,172 yards. He narrowly placed second in the league MVP voting to Allen, who racked up 383 total votes and 27 first-place votes. Jackson received 362 total votes, including 23 first-place votes.

‘LMAO’: The Rose Garden Disaster Barely Settled Before Donald Trump Gave Gavin Newsom a Gift-Wrapped Joke That Sparked His Best Clap Back Yet

News - Tue, 09/09/2025 - 16:59

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is far from done with Donald Trump‘s who recently revealed plans to put an octagon cage on the White House lawn for an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) match.

Dana White, the chief executive of the UFC, met with Trump in August about the proposed match and later confirmed, “It’s absolutely going to happen,” on the Fourth of July in 2026.

“This will be one of the greatest and most historic sports events in history, and President Trump hosting it at the White House is a testament to his vision to celebrate America’s monumental 250th anniversary,” White House Communication Director Steven Cheung said last week in a statement cited by The Wall Street Journal. “I know President Trump as a fighter. I’m in the tough guy business, and this guy is the toughest, most resilient I’ve seen in my life.”

‘WINNER, WINNER’: Fans Say Gavin Newsom’s Latest Post May Be the Clapback That Finally Shuts Trump Down

The president has long been a fan of the UFC and infamously made an appearance at WrestleMania’s “Battle of the Billionaires” in the 1980s. Trump first brought up the idea of a caged match at the White House in July, per MSN. Trump said he wanted 20,000 fans in attendance at the celebration.

Newsom has been trolling Trump for weeks by sarcastically typing in the president’s all-caps format, and his latest jab at the president’s UFC plans has fans cracking up.

On Sept. 3, the governor shared an AI image of himself bouncing an orange baby Trump inside a cage on X. At the end of the video, Newsom sets a petulant Trump down on a gold mat inside the cage before it locks.

“YOU INFLATED INFANT. WE KNOW YOU CAN’T SEE YOUR FEET BUT CAN YOU NOT SEE THE COUNTRY? PEOPLE CAN’T AFFORD FOOD. CAN’T FIND JOBS. AND YOU’RE PLAYING ROCK ‘EM SOCK ‘EM ROBOTS ON THE WHITE HOUSE LAWN! WE’RE EMBARRASSED. YOU’RE “MAKING AMERICA MORTIFIED AGAIN!” YOU’RE MAMA NOT MAGA,” read a post shared on a parody account from Gov. Newsom’s Press Office on Threads.

Fans responded by expressing how equally appalled they were by Trump’s proposed UFC match at the White House.

“What an embarrassment! Talk about lowering the tone,” they wrote. “Such an iconic building of historic importance lowered to nothing better than a circus! Should make DJT feel right at home [clown]!”

In response to some critics who felt Gavin was feeding into the baited traps set by Trump, one wrote, “Gavin Da Goat!!!”

Another said, “And yet you maga snowflakes cry every time he tweets lol.”

In contrast, fans on X were more taken aback by Newsom’s top-tier level of trolling Trump.

One fan wrote, “Hands down, the best one so far. Bravo! Absolute masterpiece!”

Another fan suggested a real match between the two men. “Back and forth trolling, I like that. Let’s make it a real fight. I suggest karaoke. Let’s do it.”

The White House is reportedly planning to add a jumbo screen for the UFC event to inundate the public at Ellipse Park, among other changes that have been objected to online.

On Sept. 6, after House Speaker Mike Johnson posted photos from the grand opening of the new Rose Garden Club at the White House, Newsom and his team quickly chimed in with a new nickname for the space they dubbed, “Predator Patio.”

“Our economy is in a downward spiral, but don’t worry — the @GOP are spending their time cheersing Diet Cokes at a new, exclusive ‘club,'” he wrote on X.

Romeca Meeks Wrote Loving Note to Son on His First Day of School. Minutes Later, Chicago Mother Was Allegedly Shot and Killed in Fight Over Child’s Father

News - Tue, 09/09/2025 - 16:34

A Chicago mother was reportedly shot and killed during a fight with another woman shortly after dropping her son off for his first day of school.

According to local news affiliates, police reported that the fatal altercation took place just after 9 a.m. on Monday, September 8, in the 2200 block of South State Street in Chicago’s South Loop.

Authorities say the fight took a deadly turn when the woman pulled out a gun and shot the 31-year-old mother in the face.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she died.

It’s unclear at this time what triggered the fight, but authorities believe that both women knew each other and that the incident is connected to a personal dispute.

Authorities took the alleged shooter into custody, but have announced no charges against her.

Police have yet to identify the victim and the shooter, but other reports citing numerous social media accounts identified the victim as 31-year-old Romeca Meeks and the shooting suspect as a woman dating the father of Meeks’ child.

A graphic cellphone video making the rounds online shows the aftermath of the shooting, in which multiple people are present at the blood-splattered slaying scene. The footage shows a victim lying next to a white sedan.

A man social media users identified as Carlos Losos Way, the reported father of Meeks’ child, was also present at the scene. Way also reportedly shares a child with the suspected female shooter.

Witnesses in the video are heard yelling that Way had Meeks in a headlock before the other woman shot her. One woman is heard demanding that the police arrest the woman, saying that she saw her shoot the victim and place the gun in her car.

The woman yells back, “I have a license to carry!”

On the day of the shooting, Way wrote on Facebook, “Worst day of my life,” which drew numerous reactions and responses. He later deleted the post.

Shortly before the fatal incident, Meeks also shared a photo of a note she wrote to her son before dropping him off at school that’s now being widely reshared in light of the tragedy. The note reads, “Happy Monday son, this is a fresh start to this day and you can start off strong. Always remain yourself, you’re the coolest, smartest and funniest kid I know. I love you so much. – Love Mommy.”

A close friend of the victim told WGN9 that the victim was an outstanding and devoted mother who was in school working to become a nurse.

Deadly Love Triangle: Nashville Wife Shot Dead After Storming Mistress’ Home in Heated Fight Over Husband

News - Tue, 09/09/2025 - 16:00

A heated confrontation between a Tennessee woman and her husband’s mistress turned lethal when one of the women fatally shot the other in the stomach.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the incident happened on Aug. 25 at a home on Scalf Drive in Nashville, Tennessee.

Keiona Wilson was killed on Aug. 25, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. (Photo: Facebook/Keedie Wilson)

Police say that 42-year-old Keiona Wilson drove to a home belonging to Keosha Greer. Wilson went to the house looking for her husband, who was “in a dating relationship with Greer,” according to police.

Wilson arrived to find her husband’s car parked behind Greer’s home and used her copy of the car key to move it to the front.

Afterward, she approached the home and knocked on the front door. Greer saw Wilson out front through the home’s surveillance camera and began speaking to her through the surveillance system speaker.

Authorities say both women got into a “heated argument” over the speaker about whether Wilson’s husband was inside.

When Wilson tried to force her way inside, police say that “Greer fired one shot into the storm door.”

Wilson wasn’t struck, but she eventually gained entry into the house.

Both women started physically fighting once Wilson was inside, and Greer fired off a second shot, which struck Wilson in the abdomen.

Wilson fled the home, got in her husband’s car, and drove a short distance before flagging down an officer outside a local police precinct.

She was rushed to the Skyline Medical Center, where she died.

Local law enforcement consulted with the District Attorney’s Office and decided not to file charges at this time.

“A determination of possible charges will be made after further investigation,” police wrote in a release.

‘Sooo True!!’: After Trump’s Top Officials Nearly Came to Blows at Dinner, the Internet Roasted Them with a Brutal Nickname That Went Viral Fast

News - Tue, 09/09/2025 - 15:45

A private dinner for senior Trump administration officials in Georgetown exploded into a shouting match last week when Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent threatened to physically attack Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte, warning, “I’m gonna punch you in your f—ing face.”

The spectacle only made it easier for critics to paint President Donald Trump’s inner circle as chaotic, classless, and desperate for his attention.

The tense clash popped off Wednesday night at the Executive Branch, a private club in Washington co-owned by Republican megadonor Omeed Malik. The dinner doubled as a birthday party for venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya, host of the conservative “All-In” podcast.

Roughly 30 Cabinet officials were in attendance, including Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard, and Medicare and Medicaid chief Mehmet Oz.

Bessent didn’t come to celebrate.

Witnesses told Politico that during the cocktail hour, Bessent walked up to Pulte breathing fire and accused him of backstabbing. “Why the f— are you talking to the president about me? F— you,” he said. “I’m gonna punch you in your f—ing face.”

Bessent then told Malik, “It’s either me or him. You tell me who’s getting the f— out of here.” He followed up with another challenge directed at Pulte: “We could go outside.”

When Pulte asked if the two could “talk,” Bessent snapped back, “No. I’m going to f—ing beat your a–.”

Malik intervened to break it up, according to Politico. Both men later sat at opposite ends of the dinner table as the party continued without further incident.

— Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) September 8, 2025

Accounts differ on whether Bessent or Pulte initiated the confrontation, but the episode underscored simmering tensions between two of Trump’s top economic appointees.

Either way, the fiasco quickly became fodder for readers particularly on MSN.

“In a nutshell: This is how far we’ve fallen as a nation. No manners. No respect. No impulse control. No thought for the people around them,” Clark Farent noted.

Vicky had a nickname for Trump’s squad that quickly went viral. “I said back around January that this administration would be like the Three Stooges, only with more stooges. Not wrong, was I? (Not bragging either, it was pretty obvious.)”

Jo An Fry had a hiliarious spin that offered a nickname for both the president and his admin, “We have a government run by immature, pathetic bullies who are only concerned with being the master bully’s favorite. We are at another low point in U.S. history that is a threat to everything this country was meant to be.”

Another poked fun at Trump’s insistance to push the national guard in cities to quell violence. “So that’s where the DC violence was that we’ve heard so much about. Where was that fearsome military presence when needed?” That one landed well with readers, “Good one, thats funny!” and “SOOO TRUE LOL”

In May, Trump had tasked Bessent, Pulte, and Commerce Secretary Lutnick with developing a plan to privatize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the mortgage-finance giants that back trillions in U.S. home loans.

According to four Trump insiders who spoke with Politico, Pulte has assumed a more aggressive role in shaping the initiative in recent weeks, sparking friction with Bessent.

The two men have also disagreed on broader economic issues. Pulte has drawn notice for firing more than 100 staffers at Fannie and Freddie and for initiating investigations into Trump political enemies, while Bessent has sought to act as a stabilizing influence in the White House.

It was Pulte who issued a criminal referral last month accusing Federal Reserve Board of Governors member Lisa Cook of mortgage fraud — claiming she listed two separate homes as her primary residence — as a cover for Trump to attempt to fire her.

Neither Bessent, Pulte, Malik, nor the White House commented on the alleged dinner incident.

The Georgetown dinner fracas is not the first time Bessent’s temper has allegedly erupted.

In April, he was involved in a West Wing shouting match with tech billionaire Elon Musk, then head of the Department of Government Efficiency, over who should select the new IRS commissioner.

Witnesses said Bessent screamed “F— you! F— you! F— you!” at Musk within earshot of Trump. Musk, for his part, called Bessent a “total fraud.”

According to Steve Bannon, Musk then rammed his shoulder into Bessent “like a rugby player,” prompting others to get between them. Musk later appeared in the Oval Office sporting a black eye on his final day leading the DOGE unit.

That might explain the black eye.

— David Shapiro (@DavidShapiro98) June 7, 2025

Asked about it by reporters, Musk claimed the injury came from his 5-year-old son. “I was just horsing around with Lil’ X. And I said, ‘Go ahead, punch me in the face.’ And he did,” Musk joked. “Turns out, even a 5-year-old punching you in the face actually [leaves a mark].”

In August, Bessent flatly denied responsibility, telling Bloomberg: “I can 100 percent say I did not give him the black eye.”

The Treasury Department and Musk’s representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

‘Gayle I Didn’t Realize’: Gayle King’s Curve-Hugging Dress Has Fans Zooming In on What They Missed In Her Sports Illustrated Cover

News - Tue, 09/09/2025 - 15:36

At 70, Gayle King continues to defy expectations and capture hearts across social media.

The “CBS Mornings” co-host has once again become the center of internet attention, but this time it’s not for her groundbreaking journalism or famous friendship with Oprah Winfrey. Instead, a new clip has fans zooming in after King lit up social media with a body reveal that left everyone stunned.

The veteran broadcaster joined tennis star Taylor Townsend in a playful dance moment that quickly went viral after being posted on Monday, Sept. 8. Townsend was fresh off a dramatic run at the U.S. Open that saw her reach the fourth round in women’s singles and the final in women’s doubles.

In the clip, King wore a curve-hugging red dress that perfectly showcased her figure while she danced alongside Townsend in what appeared to be a spontaneous, joyful celebration. The video captured the impressive silhouette that had viewers doing double takes and flooding the comment sections with admiration.

Taylor’s 336K followers wasted no time expressing their amazement at King’s appearance.

“Gayle looking good in that red,” one enthusiastic fan commented, while another chimed in with “Gayle looking thicc, okay!”

The responses kept pouring in with one particularly surprised viewer writing, “Damn Gayle I didn’t realize you had those Chips like dat. whats really going on?”

Another fan simply declared, “Gayle body is tea.”

King’s impressive physique didn’t happen overnight, and she’s been refreshingly open about her health journey over the years. The media personality has candidly discussed her weight fluctuations and various approaches to maintaining her wellness.

According to People, she turned to Weight Watchers multiple times throughout her life, the same program her best friend Oprah championed for nearly a decade.

During a 2016 CBS News segment, King explained the program’s appeal, “You don’t have to deprive yourself. That’s what I think is the beauty. You can decide how you want to use your points.”

At that time, she had successfully lost 25 pounds and was motivated by specific goals.

However, King has acknowledged that maintaining her weight became more challenging as she aged, particularly after menopause.

“When you go through menopause, it is hard to lose weight,” she admitted in 2016. Despite the difficulties, she emphasized that finding the right approach requires patience and persistence. By 2024, she told TMZ that while she was no longer actively using Weight Watchers, the program had been part of her “whole life,” though she stressed that “everybody has to figure out what works for them.”

Around this same time, her bestie Oprah had also stopped working with the weight-loss food company.

King’s confidence and stunning appearance reached new heights when she graced the cover of Sports Illustrated’s 2024 Swimsuit Issue, making her debut at 69 years old.

This achievement has become part of a cherished annual tradition she shares with her niece Mekenzye, who has been recreating Sports Illustrated poses with her aunt since 2017, according to Oprah Daily.

Their yearly vacation ritual of capturing swimsuit photos has taken them to beautiful locations, including a recent trip to Cancun, Mexico, for Thanksgiving 2024. Some observers even suggested that King outdid her niece in their playful December photo shoot featuring floral tops and red bottoms.

The Sports Illustrated opportunity initially seemed too good to be true for King, who thought she was being pranked when she received the call. She never imagined joining the ranks of cover models like Tyra Banks, Christie Brinkley, or Beyoncé. Preparing for the shoot, King didn’t follow any extreme diet or rigorous workout routine. Instead, she enjoyed her favorite meal before the shoot, including a cheeseburger, after the magazine’s editor-in-chief assured her not to change anything about her routine.

King’s children, Kirby and William Jr., along with their “auntie Oprah,” enthusiastically supported her decision to participate in the swimsuit issue. Both of her adult children separately told her, “Mom, this is really cool. We’re very proud of you.”

Their encouragement proved crucial in King’s decision-making process, as she admitted that any hesitation from her family would have given her pause.

Even King’s ex-husband, William Bumpus, couldn’t help but express his admiration for his former wife’s achievement. The retired attorney told Page Six that seeing his ex-wife as a Sports Illustrated model fulfilled a “teenage fantasy,” adding, “WOW! Bravo to you Gayle … You Look Fantastic!”

King’s recent viral moment with Taylor Townsend proves that her newfound confidence continues to captivate audiences well beyond her Sports Illustrated debut.

‘Are You Kidding Me!?’: Julia Roberts Jumps In After Ayo Edebiri Left Stunned by Reporter’s Provocative Question

News - Tue, 09/09/2025 - 14:47

Ayo Edebiri had the perfect response to a reporter’s attempt to exclude her from a question during a live interview.

The actress and her “After The Hunt” co-stars Andrew Garfield and Julia Roberts were being interviewed by ArtsLife TV reporter Federica Polidoro when the awkward exchange unfolded.

The Italian journalist clumsily said, “What we lost during the politically correct era and what we have to expect in Hollywood after” the Black woman-founded movements such as #MeToo and Black Lives Matter movements are done. Garfield appeared lost for words as he pivoted his entire body to face his colleagues.

“The Bear” star raised her eyebrows in shock. Roberts responded, “Can you repeat that? With your sunglasses on, I can’t tell which of us you’re talking to.”

Polidoro obliged, making it clear that Garfield and Roberts were expected to answer the question. The Oscar winner looked at Edebiri before she remarked, “It’s not done.”

“I know that that’s not for me, and I don’t know if it’s purposeful if it’s not me, but I just am curious… I don’t think it’s done at all. I think hashtags might not be used much,” interjected Edebiri.

Moreover, the Emmy winner explained, “I do think there’s work done by activists, by people every day, that’s beautiful and important work. That’s not finished; that’s really, really active for a reason because this world is really charged… That’s what I would say.”

Reactions included a tweet that “Ayo really handled that with such calm and clarity shows how powerful grace under pressure can be.” An Instagram user declared that “They should’ve all gotten up and walked out.”

A second user remarked, “The Julia sat up and readjusted herself! She was about to go in and let have!”

“The deep seething frustration I’m feeling from an interviewer intentionally talking about black lives matter and addressing the question to the non black people on the panel. Are you kidding me!?!’ wrote a fourth person. A fifth reaction read, “Julia’s family was close to MLK and his family. She was about to hand her her behind for that question.”

Roberts’ parents welcomed Martin and Coretta Scott King’s children into their theater school during the 1960s, sparking a close connection. In 1967, when the actress was born, the King family paid the hospital bill.

Amidst the backlash to the flagrant interview tactic, Polidoro attempted to clarify that the essence of the question may have been lost in translation. She explained, “My intention was never to offend.”

In a lengthier Instagram post, the journalist also hit back at claims she showed prejudice. Polidoro also warned she would exercise legal recourse against those attacking her online.

‘Why Is She Walking Like That?’: Mariah Carey Fans Say ‘Something Isn’t Right’ About Viral Video of the Singer Needing Assistance to Walk

News - Tue, 09/09/2025 - 14:00

Mariah Carey fans still noticed her alarmingly stiff appearance during 2025 MTV Video Music Awards despite the good lighting, a glam squad, and a reported $10 million worth of diamonds dancing on her neck and ears.

The pop icon was honored at the Sept. 7 ceremony with the Vanguard Award, recognizing her 35-year career and marking her first VMA win. Carey, 56, performed a medley of her hits like “Fantasy,” “Honey,” and “Obsessed,” to name a few, in a sparkly gold, short bodysuit and matching knee-high heeled boots.

Her signature blond hair was styled in loose waves as she belted out the chart-topping singles and accepted one of the night’s most prestigious awards. Social media erupted with praise for her appearance and the accolade.

That chatter was largely drowned out by others who expressed concern for Carey when footage of her exiting the stage raised red flags.

The revered songwriter appeared to have some physical struggles, mainly that she shuffled her feet and required the assistance of multiple people to walk and descend eight stairs.

“Something isn’t right. This isn’t normal,” said one observer. A second person asked, “Why does she walk like she’s 107 years old?” A third individual remarked, “Why is she walking like that? Do you think something happened?”

Larger speculation was ignited when others shared their theories the “Glitter” star’s health. Carey’s sobriety was also questioned when someone asked, “Is she drunk?”

The speculation comes 12 years after Carey was hospitalized after taking a tumble in high heels on the set of a video shoot. She suffered from a dislocated shoulder, inured ribs, and nerve damage as a result of the “very serious” incident. In her defense, Lambs, her loyal fan base, argued, “She’s literally 56 y’all, let her move slow” and that “Mariah has never played about those stairs.”

Regardless of the comments about her slow movements, Carey and MTV shared the big night on social media. The queen of Christmas is also moving full steam ahead and promoting her latest single, “Type Dangerous,” and forthcoming album, “Here For It All,” due out on Sept. 26.

Larcom told People that he initially lost 50 pounds when he began his transformation, but he gained the weight back before he made some lifestyle changes, such as monitoring what he ate and watching the amount of calories and macronutrients in his food. He was motivated to lose the weight after his 18th birthday when he saw his scale hit the 300-pound mark.

“I always struggled with food,” he said. “I overate. I always ate the wrong things. I loved sugary sodas, things like that. Everything that’s not good for your body that would make someone overweight. I turned 18 and saw 300 pounds on the scale, and I wanted to make a big change. A change that was substantial, a change that would last me the rest of my life.”

Larcom also noted that he did not use GLP-1 medications like Mounjaro or Ozempic to take the weight off. Instead, he lost the weight by drastically changing what he ate and through exercise, per E! News.

“I got accused of being on Ozempic,” he said. “And I got accused of being on ‘roids. So, I got my first ‘roid accusation, not my first Ozempic accusation, but I got two accusations too…Calorie deficit. High protein. Lift. Walk. Repeat,” he said on TikTok. “I lost 130 lbs doing this.”

The former child star responded in another TikTok video to people who claimed he was “milking” his impressive weight loss.

“People saying that I’m milking my weight loss, I’m milking my glow up,” he stated. “I’m going to be completely honest. I’m not doing this for anything other than to help you guys, to motivate you guys and show you it’s possible. And I’m not gonna stop doing that.”

‘Dumb Dumb’: Denzel Washington Left Ryan Reynolds ‘Terrified’ After On-Set Blowup Over a Phone

News - Mon, 09/08/2025 - 21:50

Ryan Reynolds knows how to get himself out of a pickle by doing what he does best …acting. In fact, he was able to put on a convincing enough performance to avoid facing the heat from Denzel Washington

Reynolds attended the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 5, where he shared stories about his career and life during a live audience discussion. Among one of those tales, Reynolds, who is currently promoting his documentary “John Candy: I Like Me,” talked about a time he irritated his “Safe House” co-star Denzel Washington while they were filming on the set of the 2012 movie.

A clip from the conversation shows the “Deadpool” star recounting how “terrified” he was to be working with a legend like Washington.

He made light of his fear and said, “The great thing is the character’s terrified, so it’s no problem. I just have to play scared the whole time it’s great.’”

‘Which Part Don’t Y’all Understand?’: Denzel Washington Unleashes Scathing Warning to Hecklers After NYC Confrontation, Fans Applaud His Fiery Clapback

After sharing that he and Washington got a chance to rehearse twice, he gave rare insight into how Washington works when it comes to shooting emotional scenes.

“With this guy, with an emotional scene, you get it twice. You get it once, and then you get it twice,” he said. “If you f-ck up, that’s on you, it’s not going to be on him, and he’s leaving, so you better get it!”

To help the audience visualize, Reynolds paraphrased what occurred to Washington’s character in the “emotional” scene.

“So he does this emotional scene. It’s crazy. There’s all these dead stunt guys around in this scene. And he’s been shot, wounded, dying, and admits all the stuff that he did wrong,” he said. “Tears start rolling down his face.”

Everything was going as planned, but it was the next moment that ruined it all.

“And suddenly you hear — and this is take two, by the way, because take one there was a technical problem — we hear [Frank Sinatra singing] ‘Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away.’”

Pointing to himself, Reynolds said, “Dumb dumb is sitting on his phone. I’m dumb dumb in this story. And I can feel everybody looking around like, ‘what the f-ck is happening right now?’ I can see Denzel with a tear in his eye.”

In the next moment, Reynolds heard the director Daniel Espinosa say, “Who the f—‘s phone is that?”

“And then finally, Denzel breaks character [and says], ‘Who the f-ck’s phone is that?’”

Putting his acting skills to good use, Reynolds placed the blame on the stuntman so no one would suspect he was at fault.

“I stand up and look at all the stuntmen around me, and I go, ‘Who the f-ck’s phone is that? Inexcusable!’”

But he said, he quietly admitted to a crew member that he was at fault. Afterward, an assistant director on set asked Washington, “‘D, can you do another one?’ And he’s like, ‘We’re going to have to, aren’t we?’”

pic.twitter.com/vMw4OT35wq

— Kim_Tink (@kim_tink) September 5, 2025

Reynolds told the audience, “And I’m like, ‘Yes — the stunt men!”

While his quick thinking may have gotten him out of trouble with Washington, this confession of the mishap caused more issues for him with fans.

One person said, “Ryan Reynolds is an elitist who blames the working man for his mistakes, got it.”

Another wrote, “Of course you lied about it and blamed a ‘staffer’ who you are convinced is beneath your self centered ego. What a tool.”

Under People’s post, a third-party recalled a moment when Denzel Washington roasted Ryan Reynolds with a brutal joke about his acting. They said, “Yeah Denzel thought you were a bad actor and a douche! He was right. Why is he still relevant?”

It’s true. The Oscar-winning actor did roast Reynolds over his performance in “Safe House.”

During the 2012 press run for the film, Washington appeared on “The Jonathan Ross Show,” where Jonathan Ross repeated some of the praise Reynolds gave Washington.

Paraphrasing Reynolds’ words to Washington, Ross said, “Working with Denzel was a sort of life time dream and he said you’re just about the best actor going. And the problem that that brought for him working with you was that sometimes when he was in a scene, he would forget to act and he would sit there and be watching you acting.”

Without hesitation, Washington said, “Oh is that what it was? I just thought he was terrible.”

The audience roared with laughter and Washington said, “No. I’m kidding. He’s a great young actor and very talented.”

Despite the audio interruption, the co-stars were able to make a movie that reached success in the box office. The project grossed $208 million, according to IMDb, with a production budget of $85 million.

‘Kid Is Embarrassed By His Parents’: Barron Trump’s College Path Takes an Unexpected Twist Following His Drastic NYU Move

News - Mon, 09/08/2025 - 21:15

When Barron Trump failed to appear at New York University’s Greenwich Village campus for the start of his sophomore year on Sept. 2, campus security officers and fellow students immediately took notice.

The 19-year-old son of President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump, who had completed his freshman year at the prestigious Stern School of Business in May, was absent from the main campus without explanation.

People magazine, citing what it says were multiple campus security sources, reports the youngest Trump has transferred to another NYU location for what appears to be a temporary semester-long arrangement.

‘Run Away, Young Lady!’: Barron Trump’s Love Life Under Fire Again as Critics Warn His Alleged New Girlfriend About Joining Trump’s Family

While university officials declined to specify which campus, citing privacy concerns, NYU operates several degree-granting locations, including downtown Brooklyn, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai, China.

Social media users have been quick to offer their own theories about the transfer.

One Y! Entertainment reader suggested underneath another article about Barron’s disappearance, “The kid is embarrassed by his parents. It’s not difficult to figure that out. His dad is acting like he’s lost his mind and is ducking accountability… His mother barely speaks english and has poor taste for decorations. He knows other kids look at him with side eye. At that age, they could care less about the money and status of his parents.”

Another commenter questioned his demeanor entirely, asking, “Has anyone ever seen this kid smile?”

A third said, “Barron has turned out to be a good looking young man. I hope he has a personality to match. Having the parents he has must not be easy.

People magazine readers showed more empathy for his situation.

“I don’t imagine he could go anywhere in public without being harassed,” one reader observed, while another added, “The kid doesn’t have a chance with the father and mother he was ‘blessed’ with!”

The campus change comes at a time when Barron had established himself at the university as something of a phenomenon as the president’s towering son. Alleged sources close to the campus community described him as “a ladies’ man” standing at almost 7 feet, who had become “really popular with the ladies” despite the constant presence of Secret Service protection.

Barron at 14. I think he hasn't grown much since then. Looks like the height diff between him and his dad is the same nowdays#Barron#BarronTrump pic.twitter.com/Q66x3KEzi8

— BWT (@BWTLRK) August 14, 2025

President Trump has frequently marveled at his son’s height, crediting the late Amalija Knavs, Melania’s mother, for Barron’s impressive stature through her cooking. During podcast appearances, Trump has described Barron as a “beautiful boy” standing 6 feet 9, though he’s also admitted, “I say, ‘Barron, I don’t want to take a picture next to you.'”

The timing of Barron’s campus switch coincides with increased scrutiny of his personal life. His notable absence from public Trump family events since the January inauguration has raised questions, especially after social media exposure of potential romantic interests.

The most publicized connection came from a TikTok user named Maddie, who claimed in 2020, “For those asking…I went to school with Barron Trump, and he was my first bf.”

Brother Eric Trump previously acknowledged this attention, calling Barron “probably the most watched bachelor in the world right now” while advising caution given intense media scrutiny. Despite rumors and speculation, Barron has maintained strict privacy regarding personal relationships.

Rather than embarrassment, the transfer may reflect strategic planning. Sources indicate Barron spent his summer developing tech projects and business partnerships, suggesting academic decisions aligned with entrepreneurial goals. His mother, Melania, remains deeply protective, with political sources noting she “watches Barron constantly” and “always knows where he is and what he’s doing.”

The social media commentary, while harsh, may miss a more nuanced reality. It also could be a part of his father’s political ploy to keep people talking about one of the most mysterious first sons in history.

‘He Thought Twice!’: Arkansas Football Fan Attacking Women at Tailgate Party Stops In His Tracks After Black Man Utters a Few Words, Video Shows

News - Mon, 09/08/2025 - 21:00

Arkansas football fans gathered for a tailgate party at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock on Sept. 6 to watch the long-awaited rivalry game between Arkansas State University and the University of Arkansas. However, the festivities turned violent when an unruly fan started a fight with several women at the event.

In a disturbing online video, the attacker, Charles Lockert, is seen putting one woman in a headlock and slamming another woman’s face into a vehicle, allegedly because of a dispute about loud music. If it weren’t for the help of some good Samaritans, a group of Black men who intervened, the injuries could have been much worse.

It all started because the crazed man was incensed that he couldn’t hear the game on his TV at the tailgate event, said Paulesha Dorse, who posted a video of the outburst on Facebook.

“If he wanted to hear the game, he should’ve bought tickets and actually went into the stadium!!!” she added. Observers on social media describe him as appearing “possessed” in the video, and heaped praise on the men who stepped in to quell the chaos.

“They were very polite and respectful, too. Thank you, gentlemen,” read one of many comments.

In the video, Lockert can be heard yelling obscenities while struggling with several female football fans, at one point shouting, “Let go of my d-ck!” and “I’m gonna run you into this motherf-cking wall, b-ch.”

When he grabbed a woman by the hair and began slamming her face into a vehicle, an unidentified Black man yelled, “Stop it,” while other men gathered around.

One person firmly yet calmly told him, “All you have to do is go that way,” pointing to the opposite direction of the chaos, and miraculously, he listened and walked away.

However, according to Dorse, who posted the video, he didn’t learn his lesson.

“He tried to fight the women again shortly after and got beat up really bad,” she wrote, but she did not include more details about what happened.

“LET GO OF MY D**K” is insane!!! I am literally screaming,” exclaimed one shocked person on social media, followed by “Guuuuuurla, that comment sent me up!” Another said, “He was about to swing at the brothers, but he thought twice and made the right decision. You don’t want any of that, sir.”

Lockert was arrested later that day by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

‘No Provocation’: Oklahoma Cops Shot Unarmed Black Man In the Chest with Hands Up as He Tried to Save Gunshot Victim, Lawsuit Says

News - Mon, 09/08/2025 - 20:00

It’s been two years since an Oklahoma cop shot Demetrize Carter in the chest during a chaotic situation at a high school football game in which shots were fired during an argument between students, claiming the Black man was holding “something black” in his hand, making the cop fear for his life.

But investigators have refused to release body camera footage that would confirm their allegations — despite Del City police officer Shawn Hogue being cleared of any wrongdoing for shooting Carter.

Now Carter, 45, who survived the shooting, has filed a federal lawsuit against Hogue, claiming he had both hands in the air when he was shot, accusing the cop of having “racial implicit biases, prejudices, and racial discrimination towards African American individuals” – as well as personal animosity against Carter.

“Hogue was familiar with Carter from previous encounters in the City of Del City; Hogue had a negative impression of Carter because of his prior interactions with Carter,” states the claim filed by Billy Clark, an attorney based in Texas.

“Hogue’s use of a deadly force against a non-confrontational, non-threatening individual is excessive in nature and a violation Carter’s rights and protections afforded him pursuant to the 4th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States.”

Walmart Employee Accuses New Mexico Man of Stealing Appliance, Then Eats Her Words on Camera

Carter was doing nothing more than attending a high school football game between Del City High School and Choctaw High School when a fight broke out in the stands between students, prompting him to try to break up the fight by saying, “Please stop,” the claim states.

Meanwhile, Hogue and another unnamed cop were in full uniform working off-duty at the game, meaning they were hired by Mid-Del Public Schools to provide security.

The claim states the two cops ran around a corner with their guns drawn, coming face-to-face with the Black man who was shot once in the chest despite raising his hands.

“While on the ground, Carter began to bleed profusely through the large hole in his chest caused by Hogue’s gunshot,” the filing says.

“Hogue and officer John Doe disregarded the fact that Carter had just been singled out and shot by Hogue and continued to aimlessly scan the area for threats— all while Carter continued to bleed out from his wounds,” the claim continues.

Clark told local media that Carter would likely never had been shot had he not been Black.

“We are alleging that Del City police officer Shawn Hogue and his partner violated the civil rights of Demetrize by shooting him with no provocation, with no reason other than indifferent tolerance toward African-Americans,” Clark told KFOR-TV.

The Shooting

The shooting took place on a Friday night on Aug. 25, 2023, during the third quarter of the high school football game at Choctaw Yellowjackets Stadium in Choctaw, which is a suburb of Oklahoma City.

A video recorded by a fan in the stands shows spectators and players running toward the exits as the sound of gunshots rings out.

A 16-year-old Black boy named Cordae Carter, not related to Demetrize Carter, was killed in the shooting.

And a 15-year-old Black boy named Davyion Hamilton was arrested a month later, spending four months in jail on murder charges before the charges were dismissed in January 2024 after a witness recanted their statement.

Since then, no arrests have been made.

Cordae Carter’s mother, Janea Wright, has filed her own lawsuit in Oklahoma County court against the Choctaw-Nicoma School District as well as the cities of Choctaw and Del City, accusing the entities of failing to provide adequate security at the game, such as implementing metal detectors at the entrances.

Wright’s lawsuit describes a scenario where Demetrize Carter was shot as he tried to help her son.

She said her son was confronted by three to four male juveniles, and the teens were arguing when one of the teens pulled out a gun and shot her son in the groin.

Her son then ran behind a food vendor trailer and began yelling for help, prompting Demetrize Carter to approach him to render aid.

As Demetrize was approaching Cordae, two (2) DCPD officers arrived at the scene with their guns drawn and began yelling at Demetrize. Demetrize put his hands in the air and informed the officers that he was not involved in the shooting and was simply attempting to help Cordae.

Before Demetrize was able to get to Cordae, one of the DCPD officers, Shawn Hogue (“Officer Hogue”), fired his gun at Demetrize, striking him in the chest.

After shooting Demetrize Officer Hogue and the other DCPD officers did not stop to render aid but continued on their way, ostensibly looking for the shooter(s).

Wright’s lawsuit, which accuses the entities of negligence, remains pending.

Lack of Transparency

From the beginning, police refused to release body camera videos from the shooting, claiming the incident was still under investigation.

However, Hogue was cleared of wrongdoing by an Oklahoma County grand jury in April 2024, which should have closed the case.

But neither the Del City Police Department nor the Oklahoma County district attorney has released the videos, which would probably show us whether Demetrize Carter had his hands in the air or if he had something in his hands resembling a gun.

Hogue’s attorney, Gary James, told News 9 that Demetrize Carter was shot because “he didn’t comply.”

A few months later, after his client was cleared of any wrongdoing, James told local media that the grand jury viewed the video and determined Demetrize Carter probably was holding a gun.

“I believe the video reflects when he falls he throws the gun backward under the Del City police unit,” James told The Oklahoman

Police have been telling local media that two guns and eight rounds were recovered at the scene, but they have not said where exactly they were found, and they have made no mention of whether Demetrize Carter was holding one of the recovered guns.

James also insisted Hogue did not have a racist bone in his body.

“Anybody who knows Shawn Hogue knows he is not a racist,” the attorney said. “These are fabricated statements made by a plaintiff attorney from another state.”

Clark, the Texas-based attorney representing Demetrize Carter, said the refusal to release the body camera videos displays a lack of transparency.

“The body camera is important for several reasons,” Clark said during a recent press conference.

“Number one, it tells the community that the police officers are being transparent,” Clark said. “They’re letting us know what’s going on with their police. They’re not keeping secrets.”

“When you hide things, the first thing we’re going to think is, ‘okay, why are you hiding this information?’”

But now that he has filed the lawsuit, Clark expects the videos to be released as discovery.

‘They Made Me’: Paula Deen Finally Reveals the Truth About Her 2013 N-Word Apology, and It Changes Everything

News - Mon, 09/08/2025 - 19:05

The rise and fall of Paula Deen’s television career is being chronicled in a new documentary titled “Canceled: The Paula Deen Story.”

Dean, 78, went from a local Savannah, Georgia, business owner to a Food Network standout thanks to her Southern-styled dishes. However, her expanding food empire was brought down by a racial slur controversy.

Television cooking personality Paula Deen appears to be walking back her 2013 apology for using the N-word in the past. (Photo: Paula Deen/YouTube)

The network canceled Deen’s contracts with the cable channel after one of her former employees, Lisa Jackson, sued her for racial discrimination in 2013.

During a deposition for the suit, the Georgia-raised cookbook author acknowledged that she had used the N-word in the past. Her admission also cost her deals with Walmart, Target, and other retailers.

‘It Is Going to Take More Than Physical Illusions to Make Us Forget’: Unrecognizable Chef Paula Deen Attempts to Make Another Comeback After Weight Loss and Being Fired Over N-Word Scandal

A judge eventually threw out Jackson’s claims, citing that the plaintiff is a white woman, so she had no standing to sue over alleged anti-Black bigotry.

Both sides later agreed to dismiss the case, leading to speculation that Deen reached a settlement with the ex-general manager of her Savannah restaurants.

With “Canceled: The Paula Deen Story” premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 6, The Hollywood Reporter recently spoke to Deen about her fall from grace. She completed the interview with her two adult sons, Jamie and Bobby Deen, for the article as well.

A post shared by rakontur (@rakontur)

“This is something that ate at my gut every day. I would have been fine had the whole story been told — had the real story been told,” Deen explained to the publication.

She resumed, “They took this woman [the plaintiff], who is a known liar, they took her word and ran with it, and no one ever investigated any further. I was not going to be happy until the world saw the truth.”

Deen’s effort for redemption comes with contradictions. As the N-word scandal appeared to be destroying her reputation, the Daytime Emmy Award winner issued an apology that she now implies was insincere over a decade ago.

“I want to apologize to everybody for the wrong that I’ve done. I want to learn and grow from this,” Deen stated in a video posted to the internet in June 2013. “Inappropriate, hurtful language is totally, totally unacceptable.”

The longtime TV personality continued, “I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, but I beg you, my children, my team, my fans, my partners, I beg for your forgiveness. Please forgive me for the mistakes that I’ve made.”

Deen is now seemingly confessing that her public mea culpa was not genuine, claiming she was forced to make those statements by her handlers. She told the Hollywood Reporter, “They made me. They brought me to NY. These two men, I couldn’t tell you who they were.”

Her son, Jamie, jumped in to add, “Let’s straighten this up. Nobody made you apologize. The parameters they put you under, this team that you had up here, that…” But Deen interrupted, “It was two men, and it was a big, big, tall building in Manhattan.”

“They took me upstairs and introduced me to these two men, and they said, ‘You need to put out an apology.’ And I said, ‘What am I apologizing for? What am I supposed to be sorry about? I told the truth [at the deposition],’” Deen recalled.

She went on to say, “They were not supposed to release it until my team had approved it. I couldn’t approve walking across the street. I was broken. I was totally broken. So, I tried to do another one. And they said, ‘I guess that’s the best we’re going to get from you.’ Because I didn’t know what I was supposed to be apologizing for. For being truthful when the other side had lied?”

The story of Paula Deen has been long known even to casual television fans. A rags-to-riches cooking-show star, Deen was at the height of her powers in 2013 when it all blew up in her face. https://t.co/9ozjVURKod

Deen’s attempted comeback after such chaotic controversy has ignited heated debates online. One Facebook comment section had fans of the former “Paula’s Home Cooking” host wanting to move on, while critics were not ready to forgive and forget.

“[A] better name would have been… ‘Consequences of My Own Actions: The Paula Dean Story,’ lol,” a Facebook user joked about the Billy Corben-directed “Canceled” film.

One supporter-turned-detractor admitted the N-word revelation in 2013 crossed the line, writing, “I was one of her biggest fans until that happened.”

In contrast, a Deen devotee on the social media platform proposed, “Get over it! She has paid the price for her past. Now it’s time to forgive.”

Yet another criticizer stated, “Cancel her, she didn’t give notice she was canceling her employees when she closed her restaurants.”

In August 2025, news broke that Deen reportedly shut down The Lady & Sons and The Chicken Box in Savannah without informing the staff of the restaurants’ closure.

“Thank you for all the great memories and for your loyalty over the past 36 years. We have endless love and gratitude for every customer who has walked through our doors,” read a statement on Deen’s official website.

A local news station reported that Dean failed to notify the employees that they would be losing their jobs. One staffer, Brayden Fennell, alleged that The Lady & Sons’ upper management did not send an email announcing the establishment was permanently shutting its doors until the morning of a scheduled shift.

“We got a very small severance,” Fennell revealed to WJCL, before adding, “And they told us to go file for unemployment.”

In 2013, Deen was also accused of taking advantage of and then abandoning her cooking partner, a Black woman named Dora Charles, by breaking her promise to ensure Charles would achieve financial compensation once Deen established herself as a TV star.

‘Seriously’: Donald Trump’s Over-the-Top Oval Office Has Fans Cringing, Until a Detail on a Shelf Steals All the Attention

News - Mon, 09/08/2025 - 16:34

President Donald Trump‘s second-term Oval Office makeover has transformed America’s most iconic workspace into a glittering showcase that’s drawing reactions across the political spectrum.

The 47th president has completely reimagined the traditionally understated room with an abundance of golden accents, creating what White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt proudly dubbed a “golden office for the golden age.”

Yet while the lavish redesign initially captured headlines, social media users have zeroed in on specific details that reveal deeper insights about the commander in chief’s personal interests and habits.

Trump’s golden Oval Office makeover has social media buzzing, but his trophy collection—including a FIFA trophy he actually kept from the real winners—is stealing all the attention. (Photo by MANDEL NGAN/AFP via Getty Images)

The transformation represents one of the most dramatic Oval Office renovations in modern presidential history. Trump enlisted Florida cabinet maker John Icart, flying him to Washington on Air Force One to replicate the aesthetic flourishes found at Mar-a-Lago.

‘His IQ Is Really Up There!’: Trump’s ‘Obvious’ Nickname for Melania Has Internet Laughing After Pete Davidson’s ‘He Can’t Read’ Claim

Gold trimming now adorns virtually every surface, including the ceiling, door frames, and fireplace. Delicate golden cherubs peer down from above doorways while gilded Rococo mirrors reflect the ornate eagles perched on side tables. The mantel, once home to a simple Swedish ivy plant, now displays an impressive collection of golden trophies, vases, and personalized coasters bearing the president’s name.

X users wasted no time dissecting the opulent changes, with many offering colorful commentary about the aesthetic choices.

“It’s as if a flock of golden pigeons had suddenly swooped down and shat on everything,” one X user wrote.

Ugh.. how horrible… It's like Hobby Lobby met Gucci

— Burning Bridges (@sdflbb) September 7, 2025

Another observer compared the look to high-end retail gone wrong, commenting, “Ugh.. how horrible… It’s like Hobby Lobby met Gucci.”

The reactions highlighted how dramatically different this approach felt from previous administrations’ more restrained decorating choices.

As images circulated online, eagle-eyed users began examining specific elements within the golden landscape, particularly focusing on two areas that seemed to tell stories about Trump himself.

The bookshelves prompted questions about the president’s reading habits, with one person asking, “I don’t think Trump reads. Are those pop up books on the shelf?”

This observation tapped into longstanding speculation about Trump’s relationship with reading written materials, dating back to contradictory statements he made in a 1987 CNN interview about Tom Wolfe’s “The Bonfire of the Vanities” and more recent questions about whether he actually read his Vice President JD Vance’s memoir “Hillbilly Elegy.”

However, it was the trophy collection that truly captured public fascination and revealed the most intriguing details about the president’s acquisitions. Social media users immediately began scrutinizing the gleaming awards displayed prominently throughout the office.

“Note the trophys on the bookcase. When did Trump win tropies? Golfing? Is Trump displaying the golf tropies he won by cheating in the Oval Office? Seriously?” one person questioned, highlighting the curiosity surrounding the origins of these golden prizes.

Another tweeted a sarcastic answer, “The trophy for telling more than 22.000 Fake News in his first term?”

Interestingly enough, Trump, a passionate golfer who owns multiple resorts, has claimed numerous club championships at his own courses. The Guardian suggests he sometimes awards himself titles when playing alone or retroactively declares victories.

The trophy investigation led to a remarkable discovery about Trump’s approach to collecting prestigious awards.

Most notably positioned behind the Resolute Desk sits a gold-plated FIFA Club World Cup trophy, but this isn’t just any replica.

Trump actually snatched up the real tournament trophy after the final in New Jersey in July, keeping it for his personal display, while the actual winners, Chelsea Football Club from London, had to settle for a replica.

In July, the Republican politician was seen sticking one of the winner’s gold medals into his suit jacket pocket when he took the stage inside MetLife Stadium.

The situation became even more revealing during a recent meeting with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who brought the actual World Cup trophy to the Oval Office.

Upon seeing the pure gold prize on its malachite base, Trump couldn’t resist asking, “Can I keep it? Seriously, it fits very well on the wall right over there. We’ll put it right below the angels.”

Infantino had to politely explain that the historic trophy, hoisted by every World Cup winner since 1974, needed to be preserved for future champions. Trump’s immediate desire to add this ultimate prize to his collection perfectly encapsulated the mindset behind his golden office transformation.

The president’s candid discussion about his decorating philosophy during that same meeting provided insight into his motivations.

“You see the way this is looking nice?” Trump asked reporters, gesturing toward his gilded surroundings. “I can’t tell you how much that gold costs — a lot of money. There’s nothing like gold, and there’s nothing like solid gold.”

Trump’s enthusiasm for the precious metal, combined with his trophy acquisition strategy, reveals how the Oval Office has become both a workspace and a personal shrine to his gilded administration and the things it opulence of the top 1 percent that it represents.

‘Unjustified’: Black Man Approached a Car Wearing His Reflective Vest to Offer Help—Moments Later an Off-Duty Philly Cop Shot Him Dead, Lawsuit Claims

News - Mon, 09/08/2025 - 16:23

The family of a Black man who was shot and killed by an off-duty Philadelphia homicide detective last fall is suing the city and several police officers, claiming the shooting was unjustified and that the detective and his police colleagues have conspired to cover it up.

The detective was cleared of wrongdoing in July by the district attorney’s office, which offered no public explanation for its decision.

At 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 3, Robert Jones, 54, pulled up behind Philadelphia Police Det. Christopher Sweeney, who stopped his car in the turn lane in a residential area of north Philadelphia, according to the lawsuit filed on Aug. 27 in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas and obtained by Atlanta Black Star.

The family of Robert Jones is suing the city of Philadelphia and six of its police officers alleging he was unjustifiably killed by a homicide detective on Oct. 3, 2024. (Photos: Fox29 Video Screengrab)

Sweeney, a 14-year veteran of the police department, who is white, was off-duty and driving his personal vehicle, a Black Subaru, but was armed with his service gun, the complaint says.

Jones, who was trained to provide roadside assistance, was wearing a bright yellow reflective vest. His brother, Michael Jones, who filed the lawsuit on behalf of the family, argues that Jones believed the vehicle in front of him was disabled and got out of his car and approached the driver, whom he believed to be stranded, to offer assistance.

Sweeney, sitting in the driver’s seat, then flashed his badge at Jones and yelled at him through the closed window that he was a police officer, the lawsuit says.

‘Knew It Wasn’t Them But Chased Them Anyway’: Police Accused of Cover-up After Two Atlanta Men Dead After Fleeing Authorities Who Were Looking for Someone Else

Jones was not armed and did not present any physical threat to Sweeney, the complaint alleges. Before he could respond to Jones, the officer shot him at point blank range through the window, incapacitating him. Then Sweeney continued firing at Jones, striking him multiple times throughout his body. Jones was rushed to a hospital but died soon thereafter.

Sweeney’s actions amounted to a violent, unprovoked assault and battery on Jones, and an unjustified and illegal use of force, the complaint contends.

After the shooting, police who responded to the scene fervently searched for a weapon to tie to Jones, with no success, the lawsuit says. Nearby surveillance cameras did not fully capture the shooting, law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Then the officers engaged “in a conspiracy to obfuscate the truth and shield Detective Sweeney from criminal liability while assigning blame to Robert Jones,” the complaint asserts.

Initially police created and supported Sweeney’s “false narrative that the shooting was the result of road rage incident in which Jones was the aggressor,” the lawsuit says, further arguing that police “manipulated the crime scene” so that Sweeney’s story that he was protecting himself would withstand scrutiny. The complaint does not provide any examples of such crime scene manipulation.

“They’re trying to save the officer and at the same time put a stain on my brother’s name,” Michael Jones told Fox 29 shortly after the killing, which provoked public protests against police handling of the investigation, including claims of police brutality.

In January, Tonya McLary, executive director of Philadelphia’s Citizens Police Oversight Commission, complained that four months after the incident police still had not provided the watchdog agency access to information that it needed to assess Sweeney’s shooting of Jones. Such cases can erode the public’s trust in law enforcement, she told The Trace, a nonprofit newsroom covering gun violence in America.

Kevin O’Brien, one of Jones’ attorneys, acknowledged to the Philadelphia Inquirer that Sweeney may have mistakenly thought that Jones was armed when he opened fire.

“People make mistakes but that doesn’t mean taking someone’s life is justified,” said O’Brien. “And we certainly think the evidence will show that.”

The lawsuit accuses Sweeney of assault and battery, wrongful death and inflicting severe injuries on Jones prior to his death that caused him severe pain, anxiety, and horror. It accuses five unnamed police officers of conspiracy to cover up Sweeney’s alleged crimes, and names the City of Philadelphia as a co-defendant that managed the police department and employed the officers.

Michael Jones seeks a judgment to recover at least $50,000 in damages on behalf of his brother’s estate, including damages for wrongful death to be paid to his mother and beneficiary, Sharon Jones, who is and will be deprived of his counsel, services, companionship, and financial support for clothing, food, shelter, medical care, nursing care and custodial care, among other expenses.

Robert Jones, the eldest of four boys, never married and had no children, and helped care for his mother after she suffered a stroke three years ago, Michael Jones told the Inquirer.

Jones was raised in the Wilson Park housing projects in South Philadelphia and spent about a decade working as a groundskeeper for the Philadelphia Eagles, and worked for 20 years at the Southwark Metal Manufacturing, his family said.

The lawsuit also seeks at least $150,000 more in compensatory and punitive damages for Jones’s physical pain and suffering, emotional distress and humiliation, and economic losses.

The defendants, who were served with the complaint on Aug. 28, generally have 20 days, or until Sept. 18, to file a response.

The Philadelphia city law department did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Atlanta Black Star.

‘The Kids Faces Says it All’: Former Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee’s Big Speech Backfires Once Viewers Zoom In on the Black Girls Getting Soaked in the Rain

    News - Mon, 09/08/2025 - 16:01

A resurfaced photo of Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has social media miffed by her perceived disregard for black students at a school.

The state leader is shown as she stood under a pop-up tent and delivered remarks for the kick-off of the National MLK Jr. Commission Conference in Little Rock.

Behind Huckabee Sanders, 43, stood a group of adolescent cheerleaders drenched by rain on Aug. 26. Despite being rallied to bring cheer to the event, the young ladies wore facial expressions that lacked enthusiasm and joy at that moment.

The elected official, on the other hand, had gone unbothered by the downpour, and therein lay the reason some people online expressed outrage at the optics.

“The kids faces say it all,” an X user wrote. “The girls’ faces alone speak volumes,” echoed a second individual. A third reaction read, “A child of mine wouldn’t have stood there. It’s obvious. No way. ‘Come on we are going home.'”

Footage of the event revealed that the cheerleaders had withstood the elements before Huckabee Sanders stepped to the podium. Her first words acknowledged their presence. “Can we give a big round of applause to this group behind us who’s doing an amazing job and doing it in the rain,” she said.

A fourth joked that Huckabee Sanders only covered herself because “She didn’t want her face to melt.”

The trailblazer, who made history as Arkansas state’s first female governor in 2022, promised her remarks would be fast “so we can get them out the rain and dried off quickly.”

Context surrounding the resurfaced event did not seem to be included in the discourse among those who said, “MAGA in one image.”

Before she took the reins of the 25th state, Huckabee Sanders made headlines as the White House press secretary during Donald Trump’s first tenure in office. She left her post in 2019 after two years.

The president described her as “a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job!”

Her successor, Stephanie Gresham, lasted less than a year before returning to work for Melania Trump. The embattled Commander-in-Chief returned to office in January with Karoline Leavitt, a blonde 28-year-old whom he nicknamed his “superstar” with “machine gun” lips.

‘Don’t Want to Be Exposed’: Walmart Employee Accuses New Mexico Man of Stealing Appliance, Then Eats Her Words on Camera

    News - Mon, 09/08/2025 - 12:00

A Walmart customer in Las Cruces, New Mexico, captured the moment when an employee stopped him at the store’s exit to accuse him of stealing an item he had just purchased.

The viral video, reposted on multiple social media platforms, shows a woman in a light pink shirt with a speaking device attached to her chest, confronting a man positioned off-camera, standing behind a shopping cart with two microwaves. She accuses the man of taking one of the microwaves from the store without paying.

A man in uniform, who appears to be a police officer or security, also blocks the exit.

“I know you purchased it, but they denied your return, so you went and got a whole other one off the shelf,” the employee says, pointing to an unboxed microwave.

“I purchased it,” the man says.

“Not this one. I put a sticker on it right here, yeah, but they denied you the return because you didn’t have the original box,” she countered.

“I know, but it’s mine,” the customer says.

“Yes, that one is yours,” the employee says again, pointing to an unboxed microwave that she tagged with a sticker. “This one is not,” she adds, pointing to the appliance in the box.

“This one, I purchased it right now,” the customer says and hands her the receipt.

“Right now?” The employee asks, to which the frustrated man says, “Yes.”

Realizing she made a mistake, the employee calls a coworker over for help, who identifies himself as Jake,

“Yes, I purchased this one. This is the one you put the sticker on,” the customer reiterates.

The stunned female employee then backed down.

“OK, what was your name?” The customer asks the employee.

“I don’t have to give you my name,” she replies.

“OK. Well, you’re gonna go online,” the customer says before demanding his receipt back.

Many pointed out that the employee didn’t apologize after realizing her error, and condemned her for shunning the camera and refusing to provide her name when she was wrong.

“So you can racially profile someone, but you don’t want to be exposed. Funny,” one viewer said.

However, some viewers argued that the employee was doing what the company required her to do.

“She’s just doing her job. Once she saw the receipt she was good. We don’t have to post everything. This was a normal human interaction,” another viewer said.

‘Genius!’: Gavin Newsom Just Hit Trump with a Clapback So Savage the Internet’s Saying He Won This Round Hands Down

    News - Sun, 09/07/2025 - 16:50

California Gov. Gavin Newsom continues to enrage President Donald Trump as Newsom keeps trolling the President on social media in a feud that’s been unfolding all summer. And the governor’s latest post is as funny as ever.

After a reporter asked Trump Wednesday whether Newsom should be investigated over how he handled the deadly California wildfires in January, the President went after the governor again, making a weird comment about his hands.

“I watched him with the hands. I’m saying, ‘What’s going on with the hands?’ There’s something wrong with him. You watch him. There’s something wrong with this guy,” Trump said, continuing his long obsession over hands, and making no sense.

Reactions to Trump’s unsolicited insults promoted many to say he’s “jealous” of Newsom and “very insecure” about his own hands.

Newsom responded with another hilarious post on X, sharing a montage of Trump’s most embarrassing moments, including tripping up the steps of Air Force One, his mysterious hand bruises and even the time Trump was attacked by a bald eagle in his office. The post was captioned, “We talking hands?” and set to the Reba McEntire song, “I’m a Survivor.”

Social media enjoyed Newsom’s Trump meme perhaps a bit too much and fired off hundreds of funny hand-related comments.

“That’s rich coming from Taco Two Hands. Lol,” Threads user Mark Steven Ritter joked.

‘Help, This Part Is Taking Me Out!’: Newsom Fires Back at JD Vance’s Fox News Attack With Nickname So Brutal Even MAGA Didn’t Know How to Respond

“Pure projection from Tiny Hands Trump…,” X user Tina Simms posted. “Hands down the right response,” Sandiechill chimed in.

Amid all the “LOLs” and “hahahas,” Mrs. H posted “Genuis!”

This Threads user posted a hysterical video montage of Trump playing an accordion over his wildly gesturing hands during events over the years and captioned with, “’Strange hand action,’ I hear? ;-)”

“I’m still waiting anxiously for someone – ANYONE – to call him a liar to his face. I mean, not correct him, CALL HIM A LIAR TO HIS FACE!” this X user pointed out.

“This was savage,” another X user observed.

And this one, “I just Love that Fuzzy microphone Spank he got, eh?” referred to Trump get bonked in the face by a microphone in Newsom’s video.

This isn’t the first time Trump has insinuated there’s something “weird” happening with Newsom’s hands. During a cabinet meeting on Aug. 26 he told reporters, “It’s a little weird to be honest. It’s a little something shaky going on there.”

Trump: You have an incompetent governor in California. Gavin. I know him very well. He's a nice guy, good-looking. He has some hand action going on. There’s something going on there pic.twitter.com/PtxgLy5MrI

Trump’s obsession with hand size dates back decades. During the 2016 presidential campaign GOP candidate and current Secretary of State Marco Rubio really got under Trump’s skin when he told supporters that Trump “is always calling me ‘little Marco.’”

“He is taller than me, he’s like six-two, which is why I don’t understand why his hands are the size of someone who is five-two,” Rubio joked, according to ABC News. “Have you seen his hands? And you know what they say about men with small hands — “

    — Republicans against Trump (@RpsAgainstTrump) October 22, 2024

“You can’t trust them,” Rubio added after a pregnant pause.

But it was a description of Trump published in Spy Magazine almost 40 years ago that the President has apparently never gotten over.

In the story, Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter described Trump as a “short-fingered vulgarian.” Carter told ABC News that the future president began sending him photos of his hands circled in gold sharpie with notes about the length of his fingers, which Carter still described decades later as “abnormally stubby.”

The President’s latest comments about Newsom’s hands follow weeks of speculation about Trump’s health and, among other medical issues, repeated bruising on his hands, which he’s tried to cover up with make-up.

Just this week social media went wild over Trump’s bruised hand, leading some to comment that he’s been seriously ill lately, so sick in fact that wild rumors spread online over the Labor Day weekend that Trump had actually died.

At a White House event Tuesday, Trump basically just wanted to prove that he was actually alive, but his fumbling response to a question about the widespread death rumor just added fuel to the fire, causing even more speculation about his health.

Newsom has been trolling Trump on social media for weeks, tearing a page out of Trump’s own MAGA playbook and mocking the President’s social media style.

It seems to be working, too, as Trump has become more and more defensive, lashing out repeatedly at Newsom every chance he gets.

‘The Trumps Have No Shame’: Eric Trump Gets Manhandled in Japan as Sumo Wrestler Tosses Him ‘Like a Rag Doll’ Out of the Ring

    News - Sat, 09/06/2025 - 17:07

Eric Trump’s recent trip to Japan took an unexpected turn when the businessman decided to test his mettle against a professional sumo wrestler, resulting in a spectacle that quickly became social media fodder.

The 41-year-old son of President Donald Trump found himself face to face with a Yokozuna — the highest-ranked grand champion in professional sumo wrestling — during his Labor Day weekend visit to Tokyo, an encounter that would prove far more challenging than he likely anticipated.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – AUGUST 13: Eric Trump (left), the newly appointed ALT5 Board Director of World Liberty Financial walks outside of NASDAQ in Times Square as they mark the $1.5B partnership between World Liberty Financial (WLFI) and ALT5 Sigma with the ringing of the NASDAQ opening bell, on August 13, 2025 in New York City. The deal, in which ALT5 Sigma acquired 7.5 percent of the total WLFI token supply, marks a step in merging traditional finance with digital assets. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images)

Eric posted the experience on his Instagram page with the caption, “Not every day you get invited to sumo the legend, Yokozuna! Almost had him! A great honor!”

‘What a Bunch of Crap!’: Eric Trump Dragged for Straight-Faced Claim That ‘Divine Intervention’ Helped Father Get Elected

The executive vice president of the Trump Organization stepped into the dohyō, the traditional circular ring used for sumo bouts, dressed in a sky blue polo shirt and denim shorts rather than the customary mawashi loincloth worn by professional wrestlers.

Despite his rangy six-foot-five frame giving him an initial advantage, Trump’s success in driving his opponent backward was remarkably brief. The experienced Yokozuna soon demonstrated why he holds the sport’s highest title, effortlessly locking his arms around Trump’s midriff, lifting him into the air, and marching him out of the ring.

Many wasted no time weighing in on the spectacle when Y! Entertainment shared the footage.

“There is no end to what the attention getting tRUMP family will do for press,” one person commented, while another questioned, “Why is taxpayer money being wasted on this fetish?”

A third observer noted, “Hope it knocked some sense into him, but I don’t think so!”

Trump documented the encounter, showing himself laughing good-naturedly in defeat, clasping the Yokozuna’s hands and bowing respectfully to his victor.

The video captured a second match where Trump appeared to practice entry-level moves with his much-larger adversary before being swung around like a child. His posts included a group photo with the Yokozuna and five other wrestlers.

The wrestling exhibition wasn’t Trump’s primary reason for visiting Japan.

He traveled to Tokyo to support Metaplanet, a Japanese bitcoin treasury company that appointed him as an adviser in March.

According to Reuters, the businessman attended the company’s shareholders’ meeting, which approved a plan allowing Metaplanet to sell up to 550 million new shares overseas for 130.3 billion yen, approximately $884.41 million. The majority of these proceeds are intended for purchasing additional bitcoin, supporting the company’s strategy of maintaining more than $2 billion in cryptocurrency holdings.

This crypto-focused journey followed Trump’s appearance at the Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong, emphasizing the Trump family’s expanding involvement in cryptocurrency businesses. These ventures have reportedly generated billions in funding for the Trump Organization’s portfolio, including contributions from individuals seeking to influence the former president.

Since the president’s inauguration, Eric’s father’s $TRUMP memecoin generated approximately $6.9 billion for the family business.

The online commentary continued with creative observations about the wrestling match.

“Eric Trump was recently recorded being lifted out of a dohyō ring by a Sumo wrestler. No surprise there—he’s used to being carried by a man in a giant diaper,” one person tweeted, while another simply declared, “The Trumps have no shame.”

Beyond his business activities, Eric Trump has been generating headlines for suggesting potential political ambitions. During a recent interview with Nikkei Asia, he hinted at the possibility of a Trump dynasty extending into the 2028 presidential race, though he remained noncommittal about his own candidacy. This speculation has grown following his father’s suggestions about potentially seeking a third term despite constitutional restrictions.

President Trump’s own enthusiasm for combat sports, including his extensive history with WWE and friendship with UFC boss Dana White, provides context for his son’s wrestling adventure. The president is currently planning to host the MMA promoter at the White House in 2026 to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday, according to CBS Sports.

The sumo wrestling episode perfectly illustrates the Trump family’s consistent ability to generate attention through unconventional activities. As social media users demonstrated with their blend of criticism and amusement, Eric Trump’s brief but memorable encounter in the dohyō unfolded exactly as many observers might have predicted — creating entertainment value while reinforcing public perceptions about the family’s talent for generating spectacle.
