‘You Better Watch Out’: Steve Harvey Goes Off on ‘Broke’ Rapper for Dropping His Name In Song In Resurfaced ‘Family Feud’ Clip

News - Tue, 06/24/2025 - 00:43

Before Kendrick Lamar and Drake went head to head in one of the most infamous rap beefs on record, Drake was in a lyrical battle with rapper Pusha T.

In 2018, the rappers traded jabs over bars, and, unfortunately, there were a couple of casualties in the war and comedian Steve Harvey ended up taking a stray.

When Pusha T dropped the diss track “The Story of Adidon,” he didn’t just aim at the “God’s Plan” rapper, he also took a shot at the television host, referencing Harvey’s signature oversized suits in a line about Drake’s father, Dennis Graham:

“Monkey-suit Dennis, you parade him/A Steve Harvey-suit n—ga made him.”

Recently, footage of the king of comedy addressing the snide comment during a taping of “Family Feud” resurfaced on social media.

In the clip, Harvey addresses the game show’s audience during a break to reveal that someone has let him in on the fact that he was named in a song.

The now-68-year-old went on to say that being named in a rap song “didn’t move the needle in his life,” noting he’s heard both praise and criticism in lyrics before.

“Most of it is cool, some of it ain’t. Do you think I care what a rapper thinks of me? A rapper? I don’t give a sh—t what a singer thinks of me. I don’t really give a f—k what a politician thinks of me,” Harvey said matter-of-factly.

He went on to quote famous Houston televangelist Joel Osteen.

“Joel Osteen said people’s opinion of you is none of your business, nor should you make it yours. What difference does it make, they don’t even know you,” Harvey said.

As the audience listened in agreement, Harvey directly addressed rapper Pusha T, whom he kept referring to as “Pusher T.”

“Who is this broke-a—s boy? Where did he come from?” Harvey continued to share irrelevant Pusha T lyrics and opinions in his life.

“Pusher T don’t help me with none of my bills. Ain’t sent none of my kids through school. Pusher T don’t answer my prayers, Pusher T don’t give me health.”

Harvey’s rant didn’t stop at words. He flipped the script and launched into an impromptu freestyle, playfully mocking the rapper.

“Who the f—k is Pusher T, f—kin’ with me? You better watch out, T, you don’t know who I be. Somebody best know not to f—k with me. I’m all in your a—s, I got more cash. I’ll do anything I’ll smack that a—s Don’t mess around it with me, I don’t give a sh*t if your name is Pusher T.”

Although Harvey and his purported $200 million net worth were unbothered, his funny freestyle from six years ago has landed on social media again.

The Instagram account ThaGreenBox shared a clip of the comedian’s clapback, where one confused followers asked, “Why he doing this on the game show?”

Another person was in total alignment with Harvey’s “positive energy.”

“Grown man talk. Only those that have elevated from the madness will understand this. People gone be 60 talking about other folks and laughing about it . Exactly who’s Pusha T he doesn’t answer anyone’s prayers or take away positive energy.”

“Steve Harvey been catching targeted shots and strays in rap for years,” pointed out one follower.

And this person thinks Harvey was actually in his feelings, “If it was nothing he wouldn’t have addressed it that’s the thing.”

Several followers weren’t so convinced that Harvey was unaware of who Pusha T was. Others threw Future’s name into the mix, poking fun at the failed relationship between the rapper and Harvey’s stepdaughter, Lori Harvey.

Pusha T never addressed the comedian’s game show response to the lyric.

‘Looks Like an Absolute Fool’: Attorney General Pam Bondi Faces Backlash After Sidestepping Questions About Jan. 6th Pardons During Hearing on Trump’s DOJ Budget Request

News - Mon, 06/23/2025 - 22:15

United States Attorney General Pam Bondi tried to evade questions by lawmakers at a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing Monday on President Donald Trump’s budget request for the Department of Justice.

Bondi especially deflected when asked specifically about the Jan. 6 pardons.

Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi stands on stage in an empty Mellon Auditorium while addressing the Republican National Convention on August 25, 2020 in Washington, DC. The novel coronavirus pandemic has forced the Republican Party to move away from an in-person convention to a televised format, similar to the Democratic Party’s convention a week earlier. (Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)

New York Rep. Joe Morelle asked Bondi whether Trump’s pardons of Jan. 6 rioters would also cover crimes committed outside of the ones perpetrated by insurgents in the assault on the Capitol.

The former top lawyer in Florida refused to answer Morelle’s questions.

“Well, I don’t know if you’re referring to Joe Biden pardoning his son after he said he would not pardon Hunter Biden,” she started before Morelle interrupted her.

MORELLE: Would you suggest that the January 6 pardons would cover activities or crimes potentially committed outside of that?

BONDI: I don't know if you're referring to Joe Biden pardoning his son.

MORELLE: No. I'm actually referring to January 6.

BONDI: Do you mean the ones… pic.twitter.com/PNvBLps0YL

— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) June 23, 2025

“No, I’m actually referring to Jan. 6,” he told her.

“All the sentences that the people that were on death row, I’ve met with those families, all of those sentences were commuted. I’m not going to comment on pardons on either side of the aisle,” even though she just did, blaming former Biden for commuting the sentences of death row inmates before he left office and somehow finding a parallel between those commutations and the violent attack on the Capitol by Trump supporters in 2021 after Trump lost the election to Biden.

Morelle responded that he wasn’t asking about pardons on either side of the aisle.

“You’re the chief law enforcement officer of the United States. You have a responsibility directly. You swore an oath to the Constitution, not the president. I want to know what your views are on the extent to which pardons cover potential crimes committed by individuals who have been pardoned but unrelated to Jan. 6,” he asked again.

But Bondi deflected again, making a reference to Trump’s call for an investigation into Biden’s alleged use of the autopen.

“Do you mean the ones that were done by the autopen? I’m not going to discuss anything that could be or not be pending litigation.”

A frustrated Morelle then agreed with a comment by a colleague during earlier questioning that Bondi was filibustering, essentially blocking attempts to answer any questions she didn’t agree with by committee members.

Connecticut Rep. Rosa DeLauro had asked about a provision in Trump’s DOJ budget that drastically reduces staff and funding for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, or ATF, by 40 percent.

BONDI: I was attempting to answer your question. Very calmly. Unlike you.

DeLAURO: Excuse me? Excuse me? Answer yes or no. I don't want to hear all of your filibuster. pic.twitter.com/RljMbWuoyO

— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) June 23, 2025

DeLauro expressed concerns that it would create a more dangerous environment because the ATF is tasked with, among other responsibilities, investigating and preventing federal offenses involving the unlawful use, manufacture and possession of firearms and explosives.

Bondi again refused to answer questions about how many agents the ATF would lose under Trump’s budget proposal, prompting DeLauro to accuse her of filibustering the committee.

Bondi might have been tight-lipped, but social media users had a lot to say about the DOJ chief’s refusal to answer basic questions.

“Her actions are a betrayal of the rule of law and a direct threat to national security,” a user posted on X.

Another had this to say: “Bondi looks like an absolute fool. Really. Just a fool. She asked for numbers – you give numbers. It isn’t rocket science, it’s basic math.”

Kristen Gough posted, “So again – the goal was NEVER cutting down the amount of Fentanyl coming into the country. Corrupt to the core.”

And still another thinks the proposed reduction in the ATF budget is extremely nefarious.

“They don’t want guns regulated that way their Terrorist Right Wing Sleeper cells are able to arm themselves and create militias more easily.”

‘Poisoning the Air With Her Hate’: 81-Year-Old Florida Neighbor Accused of Spraying Kids, Ages 3 and 6, with Bear Mace Has Been Racially Harassing Family for Months, Mother Says

News - Mon, 06/23/2025 - 22:00

A Florida mother says that an 81-year-old woman who faces felony charges for allegedly spraying bear mace at her daughters has been racially harassing her family for months on end since they moved next door.

Ada Anderson was arrested last month in Ocala, Florida, and charged with felony battery after allegedly calling two young girls, ages 3 and 6, a racial slur, then pepper-spraying them.

Ada Anderson, 81, was arrested after allegedly spraying two Black children, ages 3 and 6, with bear mace while calling them racial slurs, Marion County deputies say. (Photo: Marion County Sheriff’s Office)

The children were playing with bubbles in their driveway when the incident happened.

Their mother, April Morant, stated that she saw Anderson holding a can of mace that she initially thought was a gun.

“She was saying something to us, but I wasn’t paying her any attention. I thought it was a gun in her hand, and it was the mace,” Morant told WCJB. “We all know it was mace because she started spraying it. It was like a big thing of bear mace.”

Morant and her daughters first moved into the neighborhood last November, and she said Anderson harassed them from the very start.

She said the 81-year-old consistently called her children names, which Morant told her daughters to ignore.

“I finally heard it myself like two days later, and she called me the N-word and we don’t belong in this neighborhood, and then my other daughter comes out and she’s like, ‘Oh, look at the whales,'” Morant said.

Everything came to a head with the macing incident.

According to an affidavit, Anderson told police that the children were running up and down the fence line that separated her house from theirs, and were yelling at her. She said she sprayed liquid at them, but claimed it did not touch them because they were 40 feet away.

Police found a brownish-orange liquid on the fence, grass, and the victims’ property. Morant and her children also told officers they felt discomfort and irritation in their noses and throats.

Now Morant is trying to move her family out of the neighborhood. She started a GoFundMe to raise donations to help fund her move to a new rental home.

“Since Day One, our next-door neighbor has targeted us with nonstop racial harassment, screaming slurs from her porch, telling us we don’t belong in the neighborhood, and poisoning the air with her hate,” Morant wrote on the fundraising page. “Now she’s finally been arrested and charged with 3 counts of battery. But I know this isn’t over. She’ll be out soon, and I truly fear what she might do next. We can’t stay here. I don’t want to wait for this situation to escalate even further.”

Marion County jail records reveal that Anderson was arrested in 2017 for stalking and in 2019 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The 2019 arrest was reportedly connected to an incident with a previous neighbor in which she pulled out a gun.

The 81-year-old’s arraignment is scheduled for July 1.

‘Wow, I Didn’t Know That was You’: Unrecognizable Paula Deen Shocks Fans with Rare Throwback Years After Weight Loss and N-Word Scandal Fallout

News - Mon, 06/23/2025 - 21:43

Disgraced chef Paula Deen, 78, took time to reflect on her career by sharing a personal message with her social media followers. Georgia-born cooking personality

The Georgia-born cooking personality uploaded a throwback picture of herself to Instagram that has fans doing a double take at her hair. She can be seen posing in front of her restaurant in Savannah, Georgia, nearly four decades ago.

Paula Deen stunned fans by sharing a 1980s throwback photo of herself sporting vibrant ginger hair. (Photo by Taylor Hill/FilmMagic)

“36 years, I embarked on a journey that would change my life — I started The Bag Lady with my last $200. Isn’t it incredible how far we can go when our backs are against the wall?” Deen captioned her image.

Paula launched The Bag Lady as a side business in 1989. She went on to open The Lady restaurant in 1996 before reopening the spot as The Lady & Sons.

Deen’s old snapshot of her first lunch business and pre-fame look garnered reactions online including about the Daytime Emmy Award winner’s hair color.

“NO way Paula was a ginger!! Love it!” the excited commenter exclaimed in response to the now-white haired cookbook author’s original red hair.

Other fans expressed shock at the photo of Deen from the 1980s, writing, “Does not look like you!!! You have iconic platinum hair.”

“Wow, I didn’t know that was you!” a second stunned person posted on the app. One individual had a similar response, commenting, “I didn’t recognize you, wow.”

In 2009, doctors diagnosed Deen with Type 2 diabetes. That serious medical condition led the mother of two to change her lifestyle to lose weight. She wrote about the transformation on her official website.

“Over the years, I’ve rearranged my plate, makin’ more room for the foods that are good for me. I started to learn about how to improve my diet by watching my starches and cutting way back on sugar and fats,” Deen revealed.

Additionally, many Instagram users praised Deen’s Southern cuisine. One stated, “God bless you and keep going. I love your videos and, of course, your recipes.”

The Georgia-born cook became a popular personality on Food Network with the premiere of the “Paula’s Home Cooking” television show in 2002. The program ran for ten years until 2012 and won Deen a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lifestyle Host in 2007. She also hosted series such as “Paula’s Party” and “Paula’s Best Dishes” on the same network.

In 2013, the Food Network decided not to renew Deen’s contract after a former employee’s lawsuit exposed that the so-called Southern belle had a troubled history on race.

Lisa Jackson sued Deen and her now-late brother, Earl “Bubba” Wayne Hiers, in 2013 for racial discrimination. During a court deposition, the once celebrated cook admitted to using the N-word.

The N-word controversy not only got Deen dropped from The Food Network but also led major retailers like Walmart and Target to cut ties with her.

A federal judge dismissed the discrimination case because both Jackson and Deen are white women. The opposing sides of the litigation eventually agreed to drop the discrimination suit though details of that alleged settlement remain private.

Deen offered a public apology in a video posted to the internet. She vowed to “learn and grow” from the situation and called her “inappropriate, hurtful language” unacceptable.

“I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, but I beg you, my children, my team, my fans, my partners, I beg for your forgiveness. Please forgive me for the mistakes that I’ve made,” she pleaded.

Despite the racial slur scandal, the now 78-year-old was able to make a comeback not long after being canceled. She launched the Paula Deen subscription‑based streaming platform in 2014.

Season 21 of the “Dancing with the Stars” competition television series featured Deen as a contestant in 2015, where she was eliminated fourth. The “Southern Cooking Bible” writer returned as a lifestyle host in 2016 with the “Positively Paula” and “Sweet Home Savannah” shows. She currently shares recipes and touching moments with her family on her Instagram page.

‘Far Too Much Garbage’: Embarrassed by His Own AI, Elon Musk Threatens to ‘Fix’ History Himself After Grok Calls Him a Liar, Misinformer and a ‘Bad Guy’

News - Mon, 06/23/2025 - 18:24

Tech billionaire Elon Musk is upset and embarrassed over his AI chatbot Grok and is threatening to “rewrite the entire corpus of human knowledge” with the next version of the artificial intelligence-based bot.

Social media is having a meltdown over his warning, even as plenty of users, most MAGA supporters, are reveling in the idea of it.

Grok has repeatedly embarrassed the world’s richest man over the past few months by presenting information that contradicts what Musk has said and leading him to publicly correct and criticize the bot. Now Musk is taking his revenge.

“We will use Grok 3.5 (maybe we should call it 4), which has advanced reasoning, to rewrite the entire corpus of human knowledge, adding missing information and deleting errors,” the Tesla and SpaceX CEO announced on his social media platform X over the weekend.

“Then retrain on that,” he continued.

“Far too much garbage in any foundation model trained on uncorrected data,” Musk added.

Grok3 is the current version of the AI bot running on Musk’s X platform, and many X users think it actually does respond to questions in an unbiased manner for the most part, leaving plenty of MAGA supporters, including Musk, angry over its answers because they’re not the responses right-wing conservatives want to hear.

Just a couple of examples include Grok’s response to a question about the spread of false information on X. The chatbot identified Musk as a significant spreader of misinformation, especially on elections and politics, citing his sharing of manipulated videos and false claims. It also cited his false claims and his “spreading misinformation, notably about COVID-19 and vaccines.”

Just this month, Grok claimed Musk posted a deleted message about taking White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller’s wife, Katie Miller, which Musk was forced to publicly deny.

In addition, it answered a question about whether Musk is a good guy by answering “No” when it was given just a choice of a yes or a no answer. When Fortune asked it why it thinks Musk is a bad guy, it listed a number of reasons, including labor issues at Tesla.

We will use Grok 3.5 (maybe we should call it 4), which has advanced reasoning, to rewrite the entire corpus of human knowledge, adding missing information and deleting errors.

Then retrain on that.

Far too much garbage in any foundation model trained on uncorrected data.

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 21, 2025

“There have been reports and lawsuits about working conditions at Tesla factories, including allegations of racism, unsafe working conditions, and unrealistic production demands leading to high employee turnover and stress.”

The bot also answered a question on political violence by blaming conservatives, responding that the frequency since 2016, based on data, shows right-wing violence has been more frequent and deadly.

Musk got an earful from X users on his plans to falsify human history.

“By far the biggest fear people have about AI is that people, like you, will rewrite history. And here you are saying you will get your AI to rewrite history. Considering how public you have been in your criticism of liberalism, it’s a fair conclusion to draw that you will rewrite events to suit your narrative, such as we saw with Grok on South Africa and false claims of genocide.”

“Straight out of 1984. You couldn’t get Grok to align with your own personal beliefs, so you are going to rewrite history to make it conform to your views,” another user posted.

But plenty of social media users believe Grok provides more left-leaning or liberal information and needs a course correction.

“Has it occurred to you that history has already been rewritten to fit a narrative by dishonest actors,” an X user stated.

And still another said: “The current AI models already reflect a narrow ideological bias—one shaped by left-leaning academia, media, and Silicon Valley culture. We’re not asking for propaganda. We’re asking for balance — for Grok to represent a cross-section of American thought, not just the coastal consensus.”

Another X user asked Musk to respond to a post about updated training for Grok with “divisive facts.” “By this I mean things that are politically incorrect, but nonetheless factually true.”

And Musk did, calling it a “super spicy meatball.”

‘Get Away from Her’: Washington Police Shot Woman At Least 11 Times After Boyfriend Called for Help and Begged Them Not to ‘Hurt Her’. Now Her Family Will Get $2 Million

News - Mon, 06/23/2025 - 16:00

The family of a Washington state woman who was shot to death by police while undergoing a mental health crisis will get $2 million to resolve a wrongful death lawsuit.

Katelyn Rose Smith, 30, was killed in an officer-involved shooting on New Year’s Day 2024 at a home in Longview, Washington.

According to the federal lawsuit obtained by the Tacoma News Tribune, Smith’s boyfriend called 911 that day after taking a gun from Smith. He repeatedly told dispatchers that he needed help because she was trying to access firearms in the house to take her own life.

When police arrived, Smith’s boyfriend was restraining her on the ground outside the home to prevent her from getting inside where the firearms were located.

“Get away from her,” an officer shouted.

Smith’s boyfriend was hesitant “There’s a gun in my room, she’s going for it right now.”

Officers ordered him to release her, and when he did, she went back into the home while police waited outside. “Don’t hurt her,” he pleaded as he made his way outside.

When she returned, she was holding an unloaded firearm. Authorities say she pointed the gun at police, prompting officers to open fire.

Smith was shot at 23 times. At least 11 bullets struck her in her leg, stomach, chest and her head.

The complaint states that responding officers resorted to lethal force even though they were equipped with 40mm impact launchers, non-lethal weapons that could have been used to incapacitate Smith without harming her.

“This case shows the devastating consequences of tactical failure and disregard for a person in mental health crisis. Police knew she was suicidal and knew there were guns in the home,” family attorney Angus Lee told local news outlets. “Instead of preventing access, they created the very danger that led to her death.”

The complaint accused police of negligence, escalating the mental health crisis, and violating the Americans with Disabilities Act since officers knew she was suffering “a severe mental health crisis, including suicidal ideation and emotional distress, constituting a recognized disability under the ADA.”

According to the lawsuit, one of the officers involved in Smith’s fatal shooting had previously responded to another mental health crisis Smith suffered in 2023. That summer, her boyfriend told police that she “had not been taking her prescribed medications and had attempted self-harm.”

During that incident, officers transported her to a medical center, where she received treatment.

Attorneys for Smith’s family said that Smith was regularly employed but occasionally suffered issues with her mental health.

“Many law enforcement agencies need more and better training on how to handle people who are having a mental health crisis,” family attorney Mark Lindquist stated. “We hope accountability in this case will help bring necessary improvements in how police respond to people with mental health issues.”

Smith is survived by her mother and her children, ages 9 and 14, who are the beneficiaries of the $2 million payout.

After the settlement was reached, city officials released a statement explaining that an independent investigation cleared the officers involved in the shooting of criminal wrongdoing:

“Following the incident, all involved officers were cleared of wrongdoing through an internal investigation, an external review, and an independent assessment by the Cowlitz County Prosecutor’s Office. After reviewing the findings of the Lower Columbia Major Crimes Team, the Cowlitz County Prosecutor’s Office determined the use of deadly force was justified and declined to file criminal charges.

The City of Longview takes this matter very seriously and remains confident in our officers, the training they receive, and the protocols they follow.”

‘He’s Stiffening Up Like a Board’: North Carolina Officers Mocked Dying Man’s Medical Distress As He Begged for Air, Lawsuit Says

News - Mon, 06/23/2025 - 14:17

The mother of a Black man in Charlotte who died in police custody in 2022 while mentally distressed and complaining of double vision and trouble breathing is suing the city and four of its police officers for excessive force, claiming their mistreatment of him caused her son’s death.

The way police handled Jovontay Williams, a former All-America college football player, after responding to a 911 call by a woman reporting gunshots outside her home in the early morning of June 13, 2022, has been known since 2023, when the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department released bodycam video footage of the incident.

After officers noticed empty shell casings outside the woman’s residence, Williams, 32, was found on the back porch of a nearby home. Police quickly determined that he was unarmed and undergoing a mental health crisis, “acting erratically, exhibiting stress and delirium,” CMPD officials later said in a statement.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers arrested and restrained Jovontay Williams (right) on June 13, 2022. His mother claimed in a lawsuit filed on June 13, 2025, that these actions resulted in asphyxiation that caused his death. Williams had a 3-year-old son (top left). (Photos: WSOC 9Now screenshot; Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department screenshot)

At 2:01 a.m., when they failed to coax Williams off the porch, officers elected to use a “soft, empty hands” approach, following CMPD’s response to resistance policy.

The bodycam video footage showed officers approach and grab Williams, lower him to the ground and cuff his hands behind his back, putting him face-down in a prone position on the porch for about 20 seconds. Then they turned him on his side while holding his body and feet down, and at 2:13 a.m., called for medics to come to the scene.

It was a long wait. EMTs didn’t arrive for another 19 minutes.

During that time, Williams told officers he was lightheaded, seeing double and was “going to die.”

“I can’t breathe,” Williams told police, according to the lawsuit.

“Yes, you can,” an officer replied

“You cops are dead wrong,” Williams responded, and then perhaps prophetically, “If I die, it is on you … Help me.”

As Williams periodically screamed and groaned, and asked police to “let me up,” one officer encouraged him to take deep breaths, then said to another, “He’s stiffening up like a board,” the lawsuit says.

“The fact that we have these statements by Jovontay Williams post-George Floyd is ludicrous,” Michael Littlejohn Jr., the family’s attorney, told the Charlotte Observer.

According to CMPD policies, maneuvering a person onto their side into a “recovery position” is meant to prevent positional asphyxia, the Observer reported. Police Chief Johnny Jennings said at the time that his officers followed department policies.

“I think our officers acted appropriately and admirably,” Jennings told WBTV in 2023. “They were dealing with a criminal situation that they quickly identified as a medical situation and then based on that they did what they were supposed to do.”

According to an excerpt from the autopsy report cited in the lawsuit that was completed by the North Carolina Chief Medical Examiner, who reviewed the footage, Williams raised his head multiple times asking to get up while being restrained on his side by the officers, “stating that he felt light-headed and was seeing double.”

When the fire department arrived at 2:23 a.m., Williams continued yelling and moaning, and had become “unresponsive and lethargic” by the time EMS medics approached him at 2:35 a.m., when they requested removal of the handcuffs to transfer him to an ambulance, the autopsy report said.

Neither police nor firefighters had checked his pulse nor taken steps to ensure Williams was breathing properly, the lawsuit claims.

The medic team found him with fixed pupils, a Glasgow Coma Scale of 3 (indicating severe brain injury) and in severe respiratory distress, the lawsuit says. Williams was transported to a hospital, where he was intubated due to labored breathing. He died several hours later.

An autopsy report issued by a forensic pathologist later retained by the family found that Williams died from “restraint asphyxia/position asphyxia by the police while under the police restraint and custody.”

He did not die from a neurological or psychiatric syndrome, the lawsuit contends, noting that, “There were no anatomic findings, toxicological levels, or documented behaviors to support a differential diagnosis of excited delirium,” as police had earlier reported. “Mr. Williams exhibited lucidity, followed verbal commands, and repeatedly articulated medical distress.”

Williams did not engage in physical aggression or display any signs of “superhuman strength” or “imperviousness to pain,” behaviors commonly associated with law enforcement organizations’ definition of excited delirium, a disputed syndrome not recognized by the American Medical Association or the American Psychiatric Association.

On the contrary, the lawsuit argues, bodycam footage and EMS documentation reflect “a steady decline in responsiveness” by Williams.

According to CMPD’s policy and national training standards, “subjects in medical distress — whether intoxicated, confused or emotionally disturbed — must be closely monitored, promptly repositioned and provided with urgent medical intervention,” the lawsuit says. CMPD officers ignored these responsibilities even after Williams “verbalized distress and ceased resisting.”

As he visibly deteriorated, the complaint says, officers failed to remove handcuffs, initiate aid, or reposition Williams in a way to avoid compressional or positional asphyxia.

Williams posed no active threat, and officers had no objectively reasonable basis to believe continued pressure or restraint was necessary once he was cuffed, the lawsuit says. Less lethal alternatives — monitoring, rolling him over, removing pressure — were available, feasible, and ignored. The prolonged restraint was “grossly disproportionate and directly caused death.”

“My son is gone and it’s a tragedy,” said Christa Ann Williams, now representing her son’s estate in the lawsuit, told WBTV in 2023. “It was no reason to hold him down that long.”

Williams had a 3-year-old son at the time of his death. He played football at Johnson C. Smith University from 2012 to 2014, where he was an All-America linebacker. He had no history of known medical issues prior to the incident, the lawsuit says.

Christa Williams said she hoped that his death would lead to policy changes among police, fire and emergency medical responders.

While the lawsuit argues that the officers failed to comply with the police department’s policies on use of force and responding to a mental health crisis, it notes that CMPD overhauled the latter policy in 2023.

The department’s mental health policy now requires officers to roll a restrained subject onto his side “as soon as it is safe” and mandates continuous airway monitoring, immediate removal of restraints and commencement of CPR upon any loss of consciousness or breathing. It also requires the immediate dispatch of emergency medical services personnel to the scene.

The lawsuit alleges that the city of Charlotte and four named police officers — Timothy Abramo, Zavon Joseph, Brenton Thomas, and Jacob Grigg — violated federal and state laws against use of excessive force and committed assault and battery against Williams, whose emergent medical crisis they ignored with deliberate indifference, causing him to suffer physical pain, mental terror and death.

It demands a jury trial to determine unspecified compensatory and punitive damages and to cover legal costs.

The allegations in the lawsuit present a stark contrast to previous official reviews of the incident, noted WCNC. Both CMPD’s internal affairs division and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation found no wrongdoing by the officers in 2023. The Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office decided criminal charges were not appropriate.

CMPD told reporters it could not comment on the pending litigation.

The city and the other defendants have 21 days, or until July 4, to file a response to the complaint.

‘This Is Absurd’: Frontier Airlines Flight Attendant Tells Passenger She Has to Change Her Shorts Mid-Flight, Saying They’re ‘See-Through,’ In Viral Exchange

News - Mon, 06/23/2025 - 12:15

A Frontier Airlines passenger recorded her encounter with a flight attendant who told her to change her shorts mid-flight or risk being detained by law enforcement.

The TikTok user who goes by Nereidaa (@90sbabygirl) posted a set of now-viral videos showing the confrontation.

The first clip of the interaction begins by showing the flight attendant, who identifies herself as Katie, saying, “I’m not even gonna tolerate that because I don’t racially profile at all.”

A Frontier flight attendant confronts a passenger about her attire. (Photo: TikTok/90sbabygirl)

Nereidaa asks why she’s singled out on a plane where other female passengers are also wearing shorts just as short as hers.

She also explains that she looked up Frontier’s dress code policy for passengers, which says the airline does not allow passengers to wear see-through clothing. The flight attendant interrupts her and says, “Your pants are see-through.”

Nereidaa pans the camera down to show her shorts and argues that people can’t see her skin through her clothes.

As the back-and-forth continues, Katie finally makes a decision to call another cabin crew member, alleging that she’s being harassed.

“I’m like being, harassed, in the back. Like extremely. OK. Um, her camera is less than a foot from my face,” the flight attendant says over the phone before explaining how the confrontation started.

“And I told her that she had to change it once we were in the air so her flight didn’t get canceled and our flight didn’t get canceled,” Katie continues.

Nereidaa also posted another clip showing another female passenger wearing short-shorts and a photo of a formal notice to cease “objectionable and illegal behavior.” The warning says that federal law prohibits interference with an airline crewmember, smoking on a flight, or drinking any alcoholic beverage not provided by a flight attendant.

In a detailed explanation about how the incident started, Nereidaa shared that she rushed to catch her flight at the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after a rainy trip to the city, and the clothes she wore to the airport were the only clean, dry ones she had.

As she waited at the gate, Katie, the flight attendant, approached her and said she needed to change before boarding the plane because her shorts were too short.

“At first, I agreed – caught off guard and wanting to avoid conflict,” Nereidaa wrote. “But I quickly noticed several other passengers wearing similar outfits, and I began to question why I was being singled out. I approached management, explained that my only alternative was wet clothing from the trip, and pointed out that others were dressed the same. I was told my outfit was acceptable, so I did not change.”

Nereidaa said she boarded the flight without issue and passed several flight attendants and agents who said nothing about her outfit.

Mid-flight, after leaving the lavatory, she was confronted by Katie again, who instructed her to change her shorts mid-flight, which is where their contentious debate began.

After about 10 minutes, she was instructed to return to her seat, given the federal notice and was told law enforcement would be waiting for her when they landed if she didn’t comply with the flight attendant’s directions.

Katie also reportedly alerted a pilot about the situation, who told the flight attendant to leave the passenger alone, Nereidaa shared.

“To avoid further conflict, towards the end of the flight, I put on a pair of damp black shorts over my original ones. I was never approached by police after landing and was not officially reported,” Nereidaa wrote.

Nereidaa later posted screenshots of her correspondence with a Frontier Airlines representative who apologized and told her that an internal team is now investigating her case.

Her videos got more than three million views on TikTok and thousands of comments from people who thought the flight attendant went overboard. Many even believed she was drunk from the way she was slurring some of her words.

“I watched all the parts & this is absurd,” one commenter wrote.

“Not her call for help saying SHE is the one being harassed,” another person added.

Atlanta Black Star was unable to locate a passenger dress code policy on Frontier’s website.

The airline’s contract of carriage states that Frontier can refuse to transport any passenger who “is barefoot and over 3 years of age, unless required to be barefoot for medical reasons, or who is not otherwise fully clothed in clothing that is not lewd or obscene, threatening, intimidating, or would be objectionable to reasonable persons.”

Move Over, MTG: Jasmine Crockett Has a New MAGA Sparring Partner After Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Blasts Texas Congresswoman for Comments About ‘Sick’ Trump Supporters

News - Sun, 06/22/2025 - 16:30

After Jasmine Crockett unloaded on Donald Trump and his supporters in perhaps her most pointed critique yet, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt returned fire Thursday in her daily briefing.

Appearing on Katie Couric’s podcast “Next Question,” posted Wednesday, Crockett criticized Trump’s underwhelming military parade, saying “It is really sick. And anybody that supports it is also sick.”

“We’ve got a mental health crisis in this country because everyone, no matter how you affiliate yourself, should be against Trump, period,” the Texas congresswoman said

Of course, half of the country, at best, supports the president and his policies. Leavitt made note of that when asked by a reporter about Crockett’s remarks.

“I think it’s incredibly derogatory to accuse nearly 80 million Americans of mental illness,” said Leavitt, whose made plenty of incendiary remarks herself, mainly at the expense of the journalists who cover the White House “The last time I checked, Jasmine Crockett couldn’t dream of winning such a majority of the public as President Trump did.”

Jasmine Crockett tells Katie Couric "It is really sick, and anybody that supports it is also sick. And so you know, we've got a mental health crisis in this country because everyone, no matter how you affiliate yourself, should be against Trump. Period." How nice. pic.twitter.com/h3Xdvw8lKC

— Alex Christy (@alexchristy17) June 19, 2025

Leavitt agreed with the reporter that Crockett is “a rising star” in the Democratic party.

“It’s quite something to behold, actually,” she said. “I hope that she continues to be a rising star, for the Republican Party at least.”

Republicans, in fact, are eager to make Crockett the face of the Democrats, believing she represents the party’s progressive wing. Her caustic remarks about large swaths of the population aren’t thought to be a winning strategy for a party that many voters find does not represent their values.

— Media Research Center (@theMRC) June 19, 2025

Crockett’s willingness to speak her mind draws comparisons to Trump, stylistically, at least. It’s raised her profile considerably, winning her support from a Democratic base weary of the tepid opposition represented by establishment figures such as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. They want a fighter, and Crockett has been more than willing to fill that role, accusing the president of being a “racist” and a “thug” and saying if MAGA had its way she’d be “back in chains.”

In fact, it was a fight with another blond Trump acolyte that propelled Crockett into the national consciousness.

During a May 2024 House Oversight Committee session, Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene made a crack about Crockett’s “fake eyelashes,” prompting the second-term Democrat to clapback at the MAGA firebrand’s “bleach blond, bad-built butch body.”

In her rebuke of Crockett, Leavitt defended “the America First movement … filled of hardworking patriots, the forgotten men and women, business owners, law enforcement officers. Nurses and teachers, and middle America, as we all know from where you all grew up, outside of this beltway.

“That’s who makes up this president’s movement,” Leavitt concluded. “And Jasmine Crockett should go to a Trump rally sometime and she can see it for herself.”

Crockett has yet to respond to Leavitt’s comments, but her fans had the congresswoman’s back.

“So it is ‘incredibly derogatory’ for Jasmine Crockett to call MAGAts mentally ill, but it’s totally fine for trump to call Democrats ‘vermin’ and ‘radical left lunatics’”?? wrote one supporter, on X.

Added another, “Rep. Jasmine Crockett isn’t just serving fire in Congress — she’s serving truth, strength, and compassion with every word. She knows how to lead and punch back when it counts.”

Of course, there are plenty of Crockett haters, many responding with racist and or sexist comments too vulgar to share.

“Is Jasmine Crockett arrogant, incompetent, or just stupid?” one opponent posted.

‘Unk Going on the Couch’: LaTanya Jackson Rolls Her Eyes at Samuel L. Jackson’s Explanation of Their Wedding Proposal

News - Sat, 06/21/2025 - 23:47

Samuel L. Jackson and his wife, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, are proof that humor is the secret to a long-lasting marriage.

Recently, clips of the couple recounting their hilarious engagement backstory have gone viral, earning the title of “couple goals”.

In a resurfaced interview that originally aired in 2021 on the “Graham Norton Show,” the host asked the couple about Jackson’s proposal or lack thereof, that kick-started their 44-year marriage.

“Did I?” Jackson hilariously questioned when Norton proposed the question about how he asked Richardson to be his wife.

Samuel L. Jackson may have found himself in hot water after fans zoom in on his wife LaTanya’s facial expression during a resurfaced interview. (Photo by ANGELA WEISS/AFP via Getty Images)

She quickly followed up with, “I want to hear this story. You never proposed?”

“I don’t remember actually,” revealed “The Piano Lesson” actor. He then quickly cleared up his foggy memories. “I do remember you having some invitations in your hand and saying this is when this is happening.”

Before he could finish, Richardson jumped in to correct him, “NO. That’s not what happened,” she declared, leaving the audience in laughter.

“I said my grandfather is very ill, and he’s going to die, and he’s very concerned that we are not married. So we have to get married now so that he can walk me down the aisle,” LaTanya continued. She added that her grandfather was concerned that he would miss the chance to walk his “last” grandchild down the aisle, so she told Jackson that marriage was inevitable.

“Now you have to ask him if you may marry me, and then you have to ask me will I marry you? And you did,” she said matter-of-factly.

“I did?” Samuel said, questioning the story before being shooed away by his wife, “It doesn’t matter,” she said jokingly.

He followed up with his own quick and possibly false version of the proposal. “It was all romantic, I got down on one knee and did the whole thing.”

LaTanya used another word to describe the proposal calling it “semantical.” When her husband corrected her on what he actually said, she gave a look as if she really wanted to say “we’ll talk about this later.”

At one point, she looked down to hide her facial expression.

“That’s going to cause a problem today, you know this,” Samuel told the host after smiling. “I needed that issue to deal with later on today,” he added with a more serious expression.

Since its debut four years ago, the clip has received love from fans who comment on how the couple’s humorous banter is a calling card for true love.

“Samuel Stuttering about the proposal is so funny….every boss has a boss in their life lol,” said one YouTube fan in the video’s original clip.

Another said, “That frozen scene with his wife was definitely based on a real argument.”

However, many on Instagram agreed with Samuel, that he’ll have some explaining to do later.

“He may be the coolest dude on the planet, but he will get still her told off by his wife,” said one follower.

Another funny individual chimed in with, “Unk going on couch. I love everything about SLJ.”

Jackson has previously told the hilarious but hazy story of the couple’s proposal.

In a 2023 interview on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” Samuel got candid about why the special moment possibly slipped his mind.

“That’s probably what happened because I was on drugs and I don’t know what the hell was going on in my life at the time,” he admitted to the host. He later added. “She’s probably right. But I like my version better because it sounds so much funnier.”

Samuel and LaTanya Jackson met in 1970 while attending Spelman College and Morehouse College in Atlanta. They married in 1980 and share one daughter, Zoe, who was born in 1982.

In the early years of his career, the “Juice” actor battled with drug abuse, something he has been more open about in recent years. Samuel often credits his wife for saving his life with a harsh ultimatum: get clean or she was gone for good.

Fans are glad he did, writing, “True love through and through” and “Omg they are perfect for each other.”

‘How Can You Sleep At Night?’: Once Praised by Trump As a ‘Great American Hero’, Pete Hegseth Now Leads Charge to Erase Medgar Evers’ Name from Navy Ship — His Family Is Fighting Back

News - Sat, 06/21/2025 - 20:30

Wanda Evers is not going down without a fight. The niece of Medgar Evers, the NAACP leader who was assassinated outside of his home in Jackson, Mississippi, on June 12, 1963, says she plans to go to Washington, D.C., and meet with President Donald Trump to urge him to reconsider removing her uncle’s name from a Naval battleship.

“We are fighting this and I’m making arrangements to go to Washington because I have to see this man (Trump) face-to-face,” said Evers, now a district supervisor in Hinds County, Mississippi. “It doesn’t matter whether you’re Black or white, it’s a matter of what you’re doing now for a man that lost his life in his driveway in front of his children, in front of his wife. A man that fought in the war for us.”

Medgar Evers was a World War II veteran who stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. Trump once hailed him as a “great American hero.”

But the president’s defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, has directed the Navy to rename some of the ships in the Lewis and Clark class, a series of vessels named after American historical figures who made significant contributions to the nation.

Evers certainly qualifies. So why rename the USNS Medgar Evers?

“Four-letter word called race,” Wanda Evers told the Jackson city council members. “My uncle died for us to be where we are today, and for them to just take his name, they already took it out of Washington, now you want to take it off a boat.”

There doesn’t seem to be any other reasonable explanation. Hegseth has said it’s part of the military’s ongoing effort to eliminate “wokeness” from the military. Eliminating any trace of diversity, inclusion and equity initiatives in the federal government has been a priority of the Trump administration.

“What does that accomplish for you?” Wanda Evers asked. “How can you sleep at night?”

The Defense Department had already removed any mention of Medgar Evers from the Arlington National Cemetery website. The site had previously honored Black Americans who served in the military.

Wanda Evers is not alone in her crusade to preserve her uncle’s memory. Earlier this week, the Jackson City Council unanimously passed a resolution urging the U.S. Navy and Department of Defense to reverse their decision on renaming the Evers ship.

“It’s unfortunate our politics have gotten to the place of moving away from people such as Medgar Evers. It was rough enough they took his name out of Arlington Cemetery, but this is an even bigger blow,” Jackson City Councilman Aaron Banks said.

The USNS Medgar Evers was christened in 2011. Evers’ widow, Myrlie Evers, broke a bottle of champagne against the bow, following Naval tradition. The 689-foot vessel, designated T-AKE 13, was named in honor of the civil rights icon by then-U.S. Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, formerly Mississippi’s governor.

Trump visited Jackson in 2017 to commemorate the opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. The president noted Evers’ military service and said, “he came back to Mississippi and kept fighting for the same rights and freedoms he fought for in the war,” according to the Clarion Ledger‘s account of his visit.

Wanda Evers is sure to remind him of those comments when she gets her face time.

“We have to understand what we’re dealing with in this day and time,” she urged. “If you have a voice, you have to fight. It’s time to fight; it’s timeout for sitting in a room and conversating. I’m not talking about violence; I’m talking about using your voice to show that we can stand too.”

‘She Has a Completely Different Face’: Khloé Kardashian Says She Felt More Confident Before Drastic Transformation as Critics Accuse Her of Hiding Behind Filters and Cosmetic Enhancements

News - Sat, 06/21/2025 - 16:30

For longtime fans of the Kardashian family, it’s no secret that Khloé Kardashian is one sibling whose appearance changed drastically over the years. But apparently the outcome hasn’t been completely rewarding.

On her podcast “Khloé Wonder Land,” Khloe chatted with fitness influencer Whitney Simmons about her weight loss journey which had adverse effects on her confidence. She shifted into the fitness lifestyle and lost 40 pounds after finalizing her 2016 divorce from her ex-husband Lamar Odom.

While many people get a boost of confidence from slimming down, Khloe revealed in the June 19 episode that that wasn’t necessarily the case for her.

Khloe Kardashian admits that she had more confidence when she was heavier in new podcast episode. (Photo: @Khloekardashian; Instagram)

“The bigger I was, I was way more confident,” she explained. “I think because, like, what are you going to say about me? I know all the things you’re going to say. I would have my days that I would feel low and all of that. And then, I will say, when I started my fitness journey and, becoming in shape, I felt such a need that I had to keep this up, like even if it wasn’t for me. I felt like, ‘Well, I can’t get fat again, because everyone is expecting that to happen.’”

The 40-year-old said she then realized that, in terms of how the public made her feel, losing weight wasn’t all that it was cracked up to be.

“It was also a different type of attention I was now receiving,” Khloe shared. “And then once I got a little older, I was like, ‘Wait, this is gross.’ I hated that that’s why I was getting more attention because I looked a certain way. Because it’s exciting and it’s all this newness so you’re in it and you’re like loving it and then after a minute you sort of remove yourself and you’re like ‘This is all so fake.’”

Now the mom of two has a lot of check-ins with herself to make sure that whatever journey she is on, she is doing it for herself and not to impress other people.

The Kardashian family has been in the pop culture spotlight since their family reality show premiered on E! in 2007. But being on television made Khloe more of a target for constant criticism about her size compared to her petite sisters. During their run of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” the media began to paint Khloe out to be “the fat sister.”

“I never thought that I was fat until I got on TV and everyone told me how fat I was,” she told Simmons. “And what’s interesting is, looking back, I’m like ‘Wait, I actually wasn’t as fat as even I convinced myself that I was but it was a different time too. People were so thin during that time.

While she did get some support from her podcast viewers for her openness, others called BS. Those critics ignored her moment of vulnerability to further accuse her of not completely being her natural self on social media.

One person on Daily Mail said, “She is always heavily filtered in images she posts- nothing real at all there. I never believe a word they say.”

Another wrote, “Never see without a filter. Even during the podcast or any tv interviews she makes them put a filter on.”

A third said, “So I look a little different…. Um she has a completely different face. So there’s that. It’s not about weight loss, it’s all the surgery they pretend not to have.”

According to multiple outlets, Kardashian admitted to using editing apps to tweak her photos before posting. She told People in 2016, “Of course I believe in airbrushing apps, I just think airbrushing apps, like who doesn’t want to airbrush a thing here or there. I love FaceTune, that one’s great. I don’t really know of many more, but a filter, that’s like airbrushing. Who doesn’t love a good filter? Sometimes you’re having a bad day.”

‘I Don’t Know If He’s Impersonating’: Viral Video Captures White Man Tussling with Black Delivery Person to Block Him from Entering Residential Lobby Because He ‘Refused to Show Anything’

News - Sat, 06/21/2025 - 15:00

In a scene that is becoming too familiar, a Black delivery person was arrested while simply trying to do his job.

A worker who remains anonymous was attempting to deliver food to the lobby of a New York apartment building, when he was forcibly blocked from entering the premises by a white resident who was with his young son.

The resident, identified as Daniel Levy by internet sleuths, called 911 to report the shocked worker, who pulled out his phone to document what was going down.

Unfortunately, the Black delivery person claimed police brushed off his videos, disregarded his story — including a bag full of food — and proceeded to book him at the urging of the frantic resident. He ultimately lost his job, and started a modest GoFundMe to help cover lost wages.

“Please help, as I got falsely arrested and looking for a new job,” it read. “I was doing deliveries and was unjustly arrested. Hopefully I will be able to find another job and get back on my feet soon, your donations mean the most to me & I appreciate you all.”

For many, TikTok is a place to share videos and lighthearted posts, but it’s increasingly becoming the last resort for justice. After posting the encounter in mid-June, the two videos he filmed of the interaction had nearly 5 million combined views, with thousands of commenters engaged in a heated debate over racial profiling.

In the videos, Levy blocked the camera with one hand while he held his cellphone with the other, speaking to police. “He claims to have a delivery… but he’s refusing to show anything,” the Propel Pro CEO told a 911 dispatcher before answering a few questions. “I don’t know if he’s impersonating but I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt,” he said. Meanwhile, his young son stood behind him looking bewildered, as the two men tussled over the apartment building’s front door.

“All I asked was that he showed that he’s allowed in the building. We have our packages getting stolen every single day. He’s refusing to show anything,” he told the cops in the second video.

@ninjapov00

To the persons food in the purple bag I wasn’t able deliver because of this ! I got arrested hopefully you get your refund

“The white fatigue is so real,” exclaimed one commenter. “Giving him the benefit of a doubt” when he’s on the phone with 911?” asked another.

In the comments, many others shared their own horror stories. “Why do they think they own the buildings they live in??? This happened to me with an old yt man after I had been living in the building for 2 years he said he had never seen me and I needed to show him my key.. I did not lol,” wrote one person.

With an increase in threatening and racist customers, delivery workers now know to keep their phones at the ready to document trouble when it arises, or risk facing disciplinary action or even termination, like the case here. But even with video evidence, not everyone was in agreement, and a debate over personal security raged in the comments.

“Everyone saying racism but I just see a guy not waiting someone to come into his building, y’all really just jumped to conclusions so quick off a small clip, crazy,” wrote one.

“Delivery guy 100% in the wrong. Any apartment or condo dwelling person who cares about their safety and security does not let strangers into the building. full stop,” said another.

But the vast majority of viewers sided with the worker, pointing out the lobby is a shared space:

“’Holding ‘my’ door open.’ You see how that doesn’t reflect the truth? Like this man is at his home holding the door to his home open which is completely different than he’s holding the door to the building open because he’s delivering something.”

In a testament to his work ethic, the delivery person posted an update in the comments, confirming that “the customer for this delivery ended up coming down and was able to retrieve her delivery.” But the story did not end so well for him: “shortly after, cops arrived took his side of the story, rejected my video and booked me.”

‘I Was There for 30 Minutes’: Oprah Winfrey and TD Jakes Finally Set the Record Straight About Attending Diddy Parties Amid the Mogul’s Trial

News - Sat, 06/21/2025 - 14:15

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey and Bishop T.D. Jakes have finally addressed the persistent rumors linking them to Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ infamous parties.

Both powerhouses categorically deny any meaningful involvement in the disgraced rapper’s social circle. The clarification comes as artificial intelligence-generated content continues to spread false narratives about celebrities connected to Combs‘ ongoing federal trial and the two being connected to his “freak-offs.”

The pair tackled the swirling speculation during a fireside chat at Jakes’ annual Good Soil Forum in Dallas, where more than 2,000 attendees gathered for the three-day conference aimed at empowering minority business owners.

The conversation, according to Fox 5 DC, was held on June 19 at the AT&T Performing Arts Center and covered topics ranging from faith and business alignment to the challenges posed by artificial intelligence in today’s digital landscape.

“First of all, I’ve never been near a Puff party. And anybody who knows me knows if there is a party I’m the first one out,” Winfrey stated emphatically during the discussion.

“I’m the first one out,” she emphasized.

The “Beloved” producer went on to describe her personality as fundamentally incompatible with the party scene, explaining that she prefers quiet evenings at home with her thoughts by the fire, accompanied by her dogs.

Jakes, who has recently become the pastor emeritus at the Potter’s House megachurch in Dallas, said, “I’ll stop by Puffy’s house for 30 minutes to say happy birthday to him during the day at 2 with staff people. And out of that came a love affair and all kinds of stuff,” he continued, expressing frustration at how a simple birthday greeting had been twisted into something more sinister.

What's everyone's take on TD Jakes and Diddy's "partnership? This old Facebook post is quite interesting.

My take!

The 70-year-old bishop claimed his age and role as a grandfather would make any suggestion he’s done something unseemly sound absurd.

The conversation also touched on the broader issue of how salacious rumors spread faster than positive news, with Jakes noting that people become so engrossed in other people’s lives to avoid confronting their own. He pointed out the timing of such toxic narratives, suggesting they often emerge when important issues deserve public attention instead.

Winfrey, along with other celebrities, has been battling AI-generated content that falsely depicts them in compromising situations connected to Combs’ RICO case, according to News Nation Now.

The rumors surrounding Jakes intensified after Diddy’s legal troubles began in November 2023, when his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit alleging over a decade of abuse. In February 2024, producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones mentioned bishop in another lawsuit, claiming Combs planned to leverage his relationship with Jakes to improve his public image following Ventura’s allegations.

Social media users have had mixed reactions to the denials.

One Reddit user defended Winfrey, writing, “Oprah was Anti Hip-Hop and was being dragged for not accepting Hip-Hop culture and putting rappers [on] her show. So I know for sure she wasn’t at any Diddy parties. Even though she eventually did have him on her show. Now I don’t know why TD Jakes who is a pastor was even at a Diddy party.”

However, skepticism persisted regarding Jakes, with another commenter stating, “Never thought Oprah was involved in this, but TD Jakes..ion believe him. There are plenty of geriatric deviants so he can stop with the ‘I’m almost 70 years old, what I look like? I am a grandfather’ spiel.”

Others attempted to provide context about the nature of Combs’ gatherings, with one user explaining, “I get tired of folks putting Diddy Parties and Freakoffs in the same category. There is a difference.”

A particularly insightful comment highlighted the industry’s interconnected nature: “EVERYONE and I do mean EVERYONE in the industry went to Diddy’s parties at one point or another. Diddy was always having Sunday brunches, pool parties, award show afterparties, Hamptons White parties, etc. And EVERYONE knew about after hours activities…EVERYONE.”

Pastor Keion Henderson, who has described Jakes as a mentor and father figure, has consistently defended the bishop against these allegations, refusing to engage with what he considers baseless speculation.

Meanwhile, experts warn that the proliferation of AI-generated fake content surrounding Combs’ trial could potentially influence public perception and even jury deliberations.

As the “Bad Boy” founder sits behind bars in a Brooklyn jail, facing serious charges the fallout continues. High-profile figures like Winfrey and Jakes are only a few celebs now making moves to publicly distance themselves from the embattled music mogul.

In a digital age where misinformation spreads like wildfire, their statements are seen as efforts to set the record straight and separate themselves from the swirl of theories and AI-generated deepfakes tied to his name.

‘For Likes and Follows’: Atlanta Doctor Must Pay Over $2 Million to Parents After Posting ‘Graphic’ Autopsy Videos Showing Their Newborn’s Severed Head on Social Media Without Their Permission

News - Fri, 06/20/2025 - 19:36

The parents of a baby whose head was decapitated during its delivery were awarded more than $2 million by a jury after a metro Atlanta doctor posted autopsy videos on social media that included graphic images of the infant’s head.

Last year, a judge ruled that Dr. Jackson Gates and his office, Gates Rapid Diagnostic Laboratory, were liable after he was sued by Jessica Ross and Treveon Isaiah Taylor Sr. for posting the post-mortem examination of their baby on Instagram in July 2023.

According to the parents’ lawsuit, Ross and Treveon hired Gates to perform a private autopsy that summer, a few weeks after Ross went into labor and suffered complications during her delivery.

Ross spent hours attempting a natural birth, but the baby stopped progressing through the birth canal due to a rare condition called shoulder dystocia.

Doctors at Southern Regional Medical Center made several failed attempts to deliver the infant safely until finally performing a STAT cesarean section. The baby’s body and legs were delivered in the cesarean procedure, but the head was delivered vaginally.

After Gates was paid $2,500 to perform a post-mortem examination, he posted “grisly and graphic” videos of the child’s severed head without receiving proper authorization from the parents, the suit states.

The couple’s attorney alleged Gates posted the clips “for likes and follows.” In the months after posting the videos, his follower count on Instagram increased from roughly 8,300 followers to 11,000.

The pathologist defended his actions, telling Atlanta News First, “I only showed a picture of the baby’s face and addressed the issue. I did not divulge any information of the baby’s identity or divulge anything about the family.”

Gates was found liable for intentional infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy and fraud. A Fulton County jury recently awarded Ross and Taylor $2.25 million in damages.

The attorneys representing the couple released a statement saying they are pleased with the jury’s decision.

“While we are pleased that a jury punished Dr. Jackson Gates for his reprehensible behavior, nothing can ease the pain that the parents, Jessica Ross and Treveon Isaiah Taylor, Sr., have experienced in losing their baby boy in such a horrific way,” the statement read. “We believe that the jury sent a powerful message that doctors must always consider the feelings of their patients and, in this case, their clients,” the statement read, per WAGA.

State medical board records show that Gates’ license as a physician is still active.

Ross and Taylor also sued Southern Medical Regional Center and the doctors involved in her delivery, alleging they were too forceful and pulled the baby’s head so hard that the traction broke bones in the baby’s head, face, and neck.

They also accused hospital staffers of not allowing them to hold the baby after the delivery and purposely withholding details of the baby’s decapitation.

“When Ms. Ross and Mr. Taylor demanded to see and hold their baby, hospital staff told them that they were not allowed to touch or hold their child,” the couple’s attorneys said in a statement. “Hospital staff allowed the young couple to only view their dead child. During this viewing, their baby was wrapped tightly in a blanket with his head propped on top of his body in a manner such that those viewing him could not identify that he had been decapitated.”

The suit against the hospital is still pending.

‘Thought He Was Married with Two Daughters?’: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Eric Dane Goes Public with Second Woman Months After Estranged Wife Filed to Dismiss Divorce Petition

News - Fri, 06/20/2025 - 19:00

Longtime actor Eric Dane has fans doing double-takes after stepping out publicly with his new girlfriend, leaving many wondering what happened to his marriage.

The “Grey’s Anatomy” star, best known for his role as Mark Sloan aka “McSteamy,” made his red carpet debut with director Janell Shirtcliff at the “Countdown” premiere in Los Angeles on June 18, marking his first public appearance since revealing his ALS diagnosis just months earlier.

The surprise appearance has ignited social media confusion among followers who thought the 52-year-old actor was still married to his wife of over two decades.

Dane’s public outing with Shirtcliff highlights a complicated period in his personal life, as he continues battling his amyotrophic lateral sclerosis diagnosis with an evolving relationship, in addition to recent developments with his estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart.

“The two have been in an on-and-off relationship for over three years and care deeply for each other,” an insider revealed to “Entertainment Tonight” about Dane and Shirtcliff’s connection, adding, “Eric asked Janell to be there for him during this time, and she wanted to show up for him.”

The source further explained that the couple is “extremely close and mean a great deal to one another,” suggesting their bond has deepened during this challenging period in Dane’s life.

But she isn’t the only lady in his life. Between Feb. and May of this year, Dane was spotted with another woman named Priya Jain, who was apparently “blindsided” by his new relationship, according to Page Six. The two have been photographed together on multiple dates since meeting last summer and becoming “exclusive” right after his diagnosis in November 2024.

The confusion surrounding Dane’s relationship status stems from a series of legal maneuvers that occurred earlier this year.

Gayheart, who originally filed for divorce from Dane in February 2018 citing irreconcilable differences, made the surprising decision to formally request dismissal of her divorce filing in March 2025, according to People.

Both parties signed off on the documents, effectively halting their seven-year divorce proceedings. This legal development came just one month before Dane publicly announced his ALS diagnosis, leading many to believe the couple had reconciled romantically.

However, the reality appears more nuanced than a simple reconciliation.

While Dane and Gayheart have indeed grown closer as friends and co-parents to their daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13, their relationship appears to have evolved into a supportive friendship rather than a romantic partnership.

In a June interview with “Good Morning America’s Diane Sawyer, Dane became emotional while discussing his relationship with Gayheart, explaining how they have “managed to become better friends and better parents.” He even described his estranged wife as “probably my biggest champion, my most stalwart supporter.”

Dane and Gayheart’s journey has been marked by various challenges over their two decades together.

The former couple first met in 2003 and married in Las Vegas the following year. Their relationship weathered several storms, including a leaked private video in 2009 and Dane’s stint in rehab for pain medication addiction in 2011. Despite these life challenges, they maintained their family unit until Gayheart’s 2018 divorce filing, though they continued to co-parent amicably and were even spotted holding hands during a family vacation to Mexico in 2023.

When “Entertainment Tonight” posted a video of Dane and Shirtcliff’s red carpet appearance on Instagram, the response from followers highlighted the widespread confusion about his relationship status.

“Sad but thought he was married with 2 daughters,” one person commented, while another asked, “Girlfriend? When did he get divorced?”

A third follower noted, “I thought Rebecca was still with him? That’s what was reported this week.”

The confusion was clarified by someone else who explained, “They are not divorced. Rebecca dismissed the divorce papers after finding out about Eric’s diagnosis. They are still good friends but not in a relationship.”

This clarification captures the essence of Dane’s current situation.

While he remains legally married to Gayheart, their relationship has transformed into a supportive friendship focused on their children’s wellbeing and his health battle. Gayheart has emerged as one of his strongest advocates during his ALS journey, while Shirtcliff provides romantic companionship during this difficult time.

The actor’s ALS diagnosis has undoubtedly shifted priorities for everyone involved. Dane first began experiencing symptoms about a year and a half ago with weakness in his right hand, and the progressive nervous system disease has brought his family closer together in unexpected ways. Despite the complexity of his personal relationships, Dane continues working, with plans to film Season 3 of “Euphoria” while managing his condition.

As Dane navigates this new chapter with ALS, his support system includes both the mother of his children and his current romantic partner, creating a modern family dynamic built on compassion, understanding, and shared commitment to his wellbeing.

‘What Was Her Unique Talent?’: Tiffany Cross Questions Melania Trump’s Pathway to U.S. Citizenship on an ‘Einstein Visa,’ Calling her a ‘Former Nude Model’

News - Fri, 06/20/2025 - 17:47

During a panel debate on President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown on CNN, a guest panelist made a cutting remark about first lady Melania Trump’s pathway to citizenship, causing a social media uproar and sharp rebuke from MAGA supporters.

Political analyst Tiffany Cross also had some choice words for White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.

On “CNN NewsNight” Tuesday, Cross questioned how Trump, a former fashion model, was able to get what’s known as an Einstein visa, an EB-1A visa, which is an employment-based, first preference visa for people with extraordinary skills and who are highly acclaimed in their fields.

“I just want to remind the viewers, his wife herself, a former nude model, got the Einstein visa to come over here, completely usurp the immigration system. What was her unique talent? I wonder that she was able to get that,” Cross said.

The first lady, a Slovenian national, became a U.S. citizen in 2006, one of only five people from Slovenia to obtain the coveted visa, after applying for it in 2000 when she was working as a model in New York and dating Donald Trump. Trump also sponsored her parents, who became U.S. citizens in 2018 through a family visa program opposed by the first Trump administration, according to CNN.

Cross, while pointing out the President’s expanding migrant targets, also slammed former President Barack Obama on his deportation record.

”Furthermore, he’s increasing these — these deportations because he’s trying to be competitive with his predecessor, who, I’m ashamed to say, Obama, who they called deporter-in-chief because he deported so many people, 430-something thousand, I believe, was the height of the year 2013,” she added.

At one point last week, the president paused immigration raids on agriculture operations and meat-packing facilities. Then this week, he walked that back, saying U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement agents would resume raids on those businesses.

“This entire immigration policy is the brainchild of Stephen Miller, a white nationalist, according to all the reporting, very documented reporting. He’s a white nationalist. Exactly. And that is the problem here,” Cross said.

In November of 2019, during Trump’s first term in the White House, the Southern Poverty Law Center obtained emails showing Miller’s connections to white nationalist groups, including the anti-immigration website VDARE and the editor of the white nationalist magazine American Renaissance, Jared Taylor. Miller was a White House aide at the time.

Former CNN host Greta Van Susteren, who went on to appear on Fox News and host on the right-wing conservative network Newsmax, defended Melania.

“This is why CNN is failing. It is not news anymore. BTW, I interviewed Melania Trump in 2015 and asked her when she started her first business-she said age 15 (I was hanging out fast food joints w/friends eating French fries at 15),” Susteren posted on social media.

“Melania actually started probably earlier than that. I highly suggest you get her book and read it Greta. ITS well worth the read. I can see why she has so much self-confidence is a hard worker and private. That is one intelligent women,” another fan of Melania Trump wrote.

“Tiffany will never have Melania’s charm, intelligence, beauty and class! And, no one will ever ask her to be a nude model,” yet another X user posted.

‘People Like You Park and Scratch Cars’: White Man Accuses Black Woman of Illegally Parking In Shopping Plaza In Racist Outburst, Threatens to Call Cops, Video Shows

News - Fri, 06/20/2025 - 17:15

A Black woman filmed an unsettling encounter with a white man who launched racist insults and threatened to call the police after telling her she couldn’t park in a shopping plaza parking lot.

According to the “Brandon Gonez Show,” the confrontation was recorded in early June in Toronto, Canada.

The woman who was targeted told the outlet that she was sitting in her car preparing to head inside a shop for an appointment when the man approached her driver’s side window and began berating her and accusing her of illegal parking.

“This is my parking,” the man is heard in the clip telling the woman.

The woman points to a private property sign that says, “Immediate Customers Parking Only,” and tells the man she’s a customer at one of the stores in the plaza.

“Shut up and get the f— out of here,” the man says.

“I’m a customer here,” the woman responds.

“People like you park and scratch cars,” the man states.

The man also reportedly told the woman, “You’ve got about 10 minutes, and then I’m going to call the cops … Why do you f—ing Blacks have a mouth on you?”

When asked about the incident, Toronto Police stated “anyone who fears for their safety should contact police.”

The woman had a gracious response to the man’s hateful words and harassment:

“I hope that God softens his heart that he may not look at anyone or talk to anyone the way he spoke to me that day ever again.”

In another similar case in the U.S., an elderly man was arrested after he followed a Black hospice caregiver to a South Carolina home where she worked in a residential neighborhood and told her, “You don’t belong here,” before hitting her in the face. The victim and her employer later spoke out about the incident, stating they believed the incident was “provoked by race.”

‘Too Many Non-Working Holidays In America’: Donald Trump Attacks Juneteenth as White House Ignores the Federal Holiday

News - Fri, 06/20/2025 - 15:45

As Americans celebrated Juneteenth, President Donald Trump raged at the newest federal holiday in a posting on his Truth Social account Thursday.

“Too many non-working holidays in America,” Trump wrote. “It is costing our Country $BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to keep all of these businesses closed. The workers don’t want it either! Soon we’ll end up having a holiday for every once working day of the year. It must change if we are going to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump’s complaint about Americans taking a day off struck many as hypocritical, coming from a president who has already spent 33 days of his second term golfing. That’s about a quarter of the 146 days since his second inauguration, well beyond his predecessors.

Others found it striking that Trump went after a holiday celebrating Black freedom. It came on the heels of revelations that he has removed the bust of Martin Luther King Jr. from the Oval Office.

“Juneteenth isn’t political. It’s not ‘woke,’ whatever that is,” wrote one progressive activist, posting on X. It’s a simple commemoration of the end of slavery. The fact that Trump can’t even celebrate slavery ending is very on brand for MAGA.”

Juneteenth celebrates what is widely misunderstood as the end of slavery in the United States by commemorating June 19, 1865, the day Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that enslaved people in Texas were free. The Emancipation Proclamation only applied to Confederate states, and many Texas slaveholders had ignored the proclamation and the end of the Civil War until Granger’s arrival. Slavery wasn’t formally and fully abolished across the United States until the 13th Amendment was ratified on Dec. 6, 1865.

But to many Trump supporters, Juneteenth is a “made-up holiday” authorized by then-President Joe Biden (in 2021) “because Joe (he) wanted to pander to minorities after the George Floyd riots,” as one MAGA loyalist posted on X.

As Trump ranted about Americans taking a day off, his administration virtually ignored the holiday. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth ordered a “passive approach to Juneteenth messaging,” according to a report from Rolling Stone, citing a Pentagon email.

At the White House, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Thursday was just another day. No proclamations were signed by the president commemorating the historic date.

“I know this is a federal holiday,” she told reporters in the White House briefing room. “I want to thank all of you for showing up to work. We are certainly here. We’re working 24/7 right now.”

Ironically, Trump once supported making Juneteenth the country’s 11th national holiday. It was included among his “Promise to Black America over 4 years” policy proposals in his 2020 presidential campaign.

Trump took credit for publicizing Juneteenth after moving a rally from June 19 to June 20 during the 2020 campaign.

“I did something good: I made Juneteenth very famous,” the president told The Wall Street Journal at the time. “It’s actually an important event, an important time. But nobody had ever heard of it.”

The change mirrors an overall switch in tone from his first term, when he at least paid lip service to civil rights. Now, any mention of America’s original sin is cast as “woke tyranny,” as the president calls it.

In March 2024, he criticized the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture for focusing too much on slavery and systemic racism.

“They make it all about how terrible this country is,” Trump complained. He has since signed an executive order “to restore truth and sanity” to the telling of history. The Smithsonian’s version, he said, was “racist” and “anti-American.”

Historic figures like Harriet Tubman and Medgar Evers have been erased from government websites. Diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives have been portrayed as methods of Marxist indoctrination.

The moves led some speculation on social media that this Juneteenth may be the last one recognized as a national holiday.

“We’d better enjoy and appreciate Juneteenth as a federal holiday today, because I can see the trump Administration (led by Stephen Miller) working to get rid of it…along with MLK Day,” wrote one man. “Surprised Trump hasn’t already done so via Executive Orders.”

‘Cesspools of Hate’: Elon Musk Sues New York Over New Law Requiring Social Media Companies to Disclose Processes Used to Block Hate Speech

News - Fri, 06/20/2025 - 15:00

Elon Musk contends he’s taking a stand to defend the First Amendment, a position shared by people across the political spectrum.

But many are skeptical about Musk’s opposition to New York’s Stop Hiding Hate Act, which requires social media companies to disclose how they monitor hate speech, extremism, and other provocative content.

After all, Musk himself has been accused of platforming racist politicians and movements like U.K. extremist Tommy Robinson and Germany’s AfD party, considered a threat to the country’s democratic order by its own intelligence agency.

Musk’s move to the right has led him to compare DEI initiatives to Jim Crow laws, call immigration “civilizational suicide,” and claim there is a war against white people in the U.S.

He follows some blatantly racist accounts on X — many of which had been banned by Twitter’s previous management — and subscribes to one pro-apartheid account which regularly disparages South Africa’s Black population while calling for power to be returned to whites. Musk grew up in South Africa when it was still under apartheid rule.

On Tuesday, X filed a lawsuit seeking to block the new law, arguing it would force social media companies to divulge “highly sensitive and controversial speech” that is protected under the First Amendment. New York Attorney General Letitia James, who would be in charge of enforcing the law, is named as the defendant in Musk’s suit.

The two New York state lawmakers who sponsored the Stop Hiding Hate Act called social media companies like X “cesspools of hate speech” and said the law did not violate the First Amendment.

Social media platforms such as X “have consistently failed to inform the public about their policies regarding hatred and misinformation,” Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal and Assembly member Grace Lee said in a joint statement.

That’s not exactly true when it comes to X. Musk, calling himself a “free speech absolutist,” removed bans imposed by Twitter on many far-right accounts, though some say conservatives were unfairly targeted. Misgendering, for example, could get you banned by the company’s previous regime.

Professor Laura Edelson, who teaches computer science at Northeastern University, told the BBC Musk has “significantly reduced the resources the platform puts into enforcing even the rules it does still have,” she said. “This is why, even though rules around spam haven’t changed on X, there is so much more floating around than there used to be.”

But Musk proved to be a selective warden when it came to free speech. While fringe account holders thrived, the world’s richest man capriciously suspended multiple journalists’ accounts and downranked tweets mentioning Ukraine and hidden tweets and even direct messages that contained words like “gay,” “bisexual” or “trans,” according to The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE).

And when an independent research group documented an uptick in hate speech on the site, Musk sued the firm behind it. That suit was dismissed.

Still, Musk’s laissez-faire approach to content moderation appears to be winning converts. In January, META founder Mark Zuckerberg announced it would “remove restrictions on topics like immigration and gender that are out of touch with mainstream discourse,” saying “recent elections” drove the decision.

Musk’s attorneys expressed confidence they will be successful in turning back the New York law, which they argue mirrors a California law that sought to require social media companies to share their policies for handling hate speech, disinformation, harassment and extremism.

X filed a legal challenge against the state and reached a settlement in February with California Attorney General Rob Bonta that essentially gutted the bill.

The legal arguments X made then have been virtually recycled in its suit against the state of New York.

Deciding what content is acceptable “engenders considerable debate among reasonable people about where to draw the correct proverbial line,” the suit maintains. “This is not a role that the government may play.”

New York is essentially trying to “eliminate” certain speech it didn’t like,” X’s attorneys argue. Hoylman-Sigal and Lee said their bill does no such thing.

“The fact that Elon Musk would go to these lengths to avoid disclosing straightforward information to New Yorkers as required by our statute illustrates exactly why we need the Stop Hiding Hate Act,” they wrote.
