‘Find Her Another Church’: Outrage Erupts After Texas Pastor Exposes Worship Singer, Leaving Fans Questioning If She Crossed the Line

Thu, 09/11/2025 - 14:00

A viral video of a Texas pastor chastising one of her worship leaders over a hug on Sept. 7 is making the rounds on social media.

Pastor Cassandra Pope of the Macedonia Worship Center in Houston is seen admonishing one of the worship center’s leaders, Mahoganee, and calling her “fake,” and Pope let her know she disapproved.

“God is such a good God. He’s a merciful God, and he is a kind God,” she began. “Where we’re going on this morning is going to be Psalms 23.”

‘Something About Him Is Unsettling’: Pastor Keion Henderson’s Apology to Woman He Told to ‘Hush’ During Service Sparks Outrage

Pope went on to talk about the Lord some more before she began her ill-timed rant about Maghonee failing to give the pastor a hug in her usual manner.

“But, I want to make a correction on this morning,” she continued. “I was speaking with Mahoganee on this morning, and Mahoganee kind of gave me a different hug than she normally does. Amen. And you know what? We’re not going to have that in the body of Christ. The word of God tells us that open rebuke is better than secret love. So we can’t have that up in this house on this morning.”

At this point, Mahoganee cocked her head forward in surprise at Pastor Pope’s “rebuke.”

“Amen. So if you want to just go ahead and do what you got to do today, we’re going to do that,” she continued. “We tried to talk about it, but you didn’t want to talk about it. But I’m just going to expose it and let you know I know how you feel. Amen.”

If you think the good pastor stopped there, you would be mistaken. She continued on “cleaning house” as other church members standing behind the pulpit looked on in shock.

“But if not, you just go ahead and sing for the Lord. Amen. Amen. Amen,” Pope stated. “All right. All right. I just don’t like fake stuff. Amen. And God has told me to clean up his house. Amen. We not going to have that kind of behavior in God’s house because this is the house of the Lord. Amen. And we going to praise God up in here. Amen.”

She then dismissed Mahoganee from singing in the choir, and watched her hug the other members of the congregation before leaving the stage.

The video made the rounds on social media, and after it was shared with The Neighborhood Talk, shocked followers commented on the pastor’s public rebuke.

“Some of the meanest, messiest people go to church,” noted one fan. “This was SO inappropriate,” added another.

“And Mahoganee is never coming back,” wrote another. “She done hugged and told everybody bye!”

Sportswriter Jemele Hill wrote, “Did she just politely cuss her out in the name of Jesus? Amen.”

“Hugging EVERYONE ELSE lovingly as she walked off was some nasty work,” concluded another.

Folks on YouTube also chimed in. “Mahogany needs to find her another church that’s gonna show her some real love. God bless you Mahoganee. Meanwhile. Sista’ Souljah needs some SERIOUS deliverance!”

Pastor Pope’s husband, Pastor Walter Pope, later excused his wife’s behavior and defended her un-Christian treatment of Mahoganee.

“It’s OK to be rebuked, open,” he said. “I personally — I don’t apologize, and I’m going to defend my wife. I’m going to defend the pastor because she wasn’t wrong.”

‘Get Them Shut Down!’: Donald Trump’s D.C. Restaurant Visit Explodes Into More Chaos as Yelp Forced to Intervene Amid Fierce Backlash

Thu, 09/11/2025 - 13:45

President Donald Trump’s surprise visit to a fine dining seafood restaurant in Washington, D.C., was lampooned by hecklers and protesters as the president works to sell the notion that his federal crime crackdown has yielded a complete drop in crime and an increase in public morale, even though the city’s recent tourism data has shown less than favorable figures.

Trump, flanked by Vice President JD Vance and other cabinet officials like Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, dined at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab less than a quarter-mile from the White House on Sept. 9.

Right before walking into the restaurant, Trump touted that D.C.’s public safety has drastically improved since he deployed National Guard troops to patrol the city’s streets.

“We’re standing right in the middle of D.C., which, as you know, about over the last year, was a very unsafe place. Over the last 20 years, it’s been very unsafe,” Trump told reporters. “And now it’s got virtually no crime.”

As soon as he entered the restaurant and walked to his table, a crowd of protesters was there to meet him.

“Free D.C.! Free Palestine! Trump is the Hitler of our time!” they chanted.

CODEPINK activists disrupted Trump, Vance, Hegseth, Rubio, and other cabinet members’ dinner.

His Tuesday visit to Joe’s Seafood also landed the restaurant in hot water among the public and attracted several negative, one-star reviews online that referenced the president.

“I heard they have roaches. Especially a big orange one,” one Google review written Tuesday evening read.

Donald Trump’s Tone-Deaf Giveaway Spirals So Badly the Pizza Shop Was Forced to Take Action Amid Backlash

“Had a great experience and food was delicious but glad I showed up days before Trump did. Had I known this place was going to accept racist anti-Americans like Trump inside, I would have never spent my money. Never again,” another Google review read.

Trump supporters tried to offset these negative remarks with positive, five-star reviews of their own.

“Best restaurant, best president,” one five-star review read.

“A great place with wonderful food and servers!! All of the reviews in the last 24 hours are fake and extreme liberals who hate our president DJT,” another person wrote.

Yelp has since temporarily disabled reviews on its Joe’s Seafood page, noting that the increased public attention the restaurant received has drawn more opinions on the news rather than accounts of first-hand customer experiences.

Some people online shared that the restaurant should be criticized for allowing the president inside to dine.

“Yes, get them shut down and boarded up!!! Any restaurant that allows that little dictator in their place of business is in support of his jackhammer regime in this country!” one commenter wrote.

“Feed a dictator, find out,” another person commented.

Others disagreed with the intense public backlash against Joe’s.

“Not fair to them in any way!!!! No reason to revile the restaurant- they have no control over patrons!!!!” one comment read.

The federal crime intervention also triggered a downturn in tourism and public activity, which conflicts with Trump’s sentiments that the presence of thousands of federal agents is making the public feel safe.

D.C. restaurants and local tour guide companies have reported a slump in visitors.

WUSA9 reported that restaurant reservations on OpenTable have seen a drastic dip. When Trump first announced the federal takeover, there was a 16 percent decrease in restaurant diners compared to 2024. More law enforcement mobilization that same week resulted in a 31 percent drop in reservations.

Tour guides say the surge in federal policing has also impacted the final weeks of the summer tourist season.

“In August, we usually have about 80 tours booked. Right now, we’re at 40,” Christopher Dreher, owner of Tiber Creek Private Tours, told the outlet.

According to data gathered by Destination DC, the city is facing a projected 5.1 percent drop in international travel this year following a record-setting year in 2024.

‘He’ll Use Me’: Rosie O’Donnell Claims Security Blocked Her Return Home for a Family Moment No Mother Should Miss Because of Trump Threats

Thu, 09/11/2025 - 13:35

Rosie O’Donnell recently revealed that security concerns prevented her from attending one of the most important milestones in her daughter’s life: her college graduation.

The comedian and former talk show host, who has been living in Ireland since earlier this year, disclosed during an appearance on the “No Filter” podcast that advisers warned her against returning to the United States due to her ongoing public conflict with President Donald Trump.

‘This Dude a Straight Up Crybaby’: Social Media Erupts After Donald Trump Threatens to Pull Rosie O’Donnell’s Citizenship

The revelation has sparked widespread discussion about the intersection of celebrity, politics, and personal safety in today’s climate. Speaking candidly with Australian presenter Kate Langbroek, O’Donnell explained the heartbreaking choice she faced.

“My daughter graduated college and I didn’t go back because the security people said to me they didn’t think it was wise,” O’Donnell explained. “Because I think Trump will use me to rile his base.”

Rosie’s decision immediately set social media ablaze.

Many Y! Entertainment readers sympathized with her concerns, arguing that Trump’s long history of targeting O’Donnell made the risk real.

One commenter wrote, “Remember when presidential administrations had too much class to get into social media fights with private individuals?”

Another added, “Not a Trump fan at all, but using a ‘security warning’ from people worried about a political backlash is 100% a Rosie thing.”

Critics weren’t quiet either.

“Please, if she really WANTED to go, she could have, she has never worried about riling the base before. Any excuse not to take accountability,” one person claimed.

Another dismissed her outright: “What a weird thing to lie about.”

Some even speculated the absence was less about Trump and more about family dynamics.

“‘The security people’? More than likely, her daughter doesn’t want her around,” one user suggested.

The chatter tying Rosie’s absence to her relationship with Vivienne is rooted in something that happened a few years ago.

In 2022, Viv went viral on TikTok after describing her upbringing as “not normal,” according to People.

@fathervivienne clueless from the start #storytimewithvivi #fyp #modonna #WeStickTogether ♬ original sound – fathervivienne

She joked about growing up with an upbringing and a celebrity mom locked in a public battle with the president. Rosie clapped back with her trademark humor, but later clarified the banter wasn’t hostile. She admitted her daughter was right: “It wasn’t a normal upbringing like all of her friends.”

Their public back-and-forth revealed more playfulness than estrangement.

The hostility between Trump and O’Donnell is one of the most enduring pop culture clashes of the past two decades. It began in 2006, when Rosie, then a co-host on “The View,” questioned Trump’s moral authority during the Miss USA controversy. Trump fired back with insults that became part of his brand. The feud resurfaced in 2015 after he announced his presidential campaign, when he famously responded to criticism of his remarks about women looking like animals, saying, “Only Rosie O’Donnell.”

Megyn Kelly: "You've called women you don't like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals.”

He’s not wrong… pic.twitter.com/WiaFYDEqH0

— Ryann McEnany (@RyannMcEnany) March 12, 2025

Trump has kept the animosity alive, going on into his presidency. In July, he used Truth Social to declare he was giving “serious consideration” to revoking O’Donnell’s citizenship, calling her “a Threat to Humanity” who should “remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her.”

Legal experts quickly shut down the threat as unconstitutional, but the rhetoric added weight to O’Donnell’s security concerns.

A Trump spokesperson even escalated matters further, stating, “Our country is better off with Rosie living abroad — and we can all hope ‘Joyless’ Behar will join her next!” For O’Donnell, these statements aren’t just soundbites; they fuel real fear for her safety and that of her children.

Rosie isn’t without allies. Ellen DeGeneres reposted O’Donnell’s pushback against Trump to her 135 million Instagram followers, writing simply, “Good for you.” The show of solidarity underscored that Rosie’s battle with Trump is viewed not just as a personal feud but also as symbolic of broader cultural divides.

‘You are a Karen!’: White Woman Spits on Black Neighbor in Parking Dispute Before Playing the Victim, But Viral Video Shows the Truth

Thu, 09/11/2025 - 12:00

A heated argument over the parking spot went left when one woman did the unthinkable.

A viral video shows a white woman arguing with a woman off-camera, who appears to be Black, about who has the right to park in a particular spot before things took a dramatic turn.

“She doesn’t need to park here,” the white driver says.

“I don’t know. Look, she’s on the yellow line. I’m on the yellow line,” the Black woman says.

“Slim, go over there,” the Black woman says to a bystander. “What do you see? Both of us parked on the yellow line, but because she lives here, exactly. You’re not supposed to park here either, but because she lives there.”

“I’m calling the cops,” the white woman says after denying that she had expectorated in her direction.

“She went from aggressive to victim so quick,” one viewer wrote.

“Call the cops, I got it on camera,” said the Black woman. “I got it on camera. I got it on camera. You want me to call the cops? Call the cops, I got it on camera. You saw her come in my face?”

“Almost knocked that privilege right out of her. Nice job!” said one viewer. “If you spit on someone you deserve to get rocked,” wrote another.

‘Nailed It’: Gavin Newsom’s Base Torch Trump with a Sleazy New Nickname Over the Fortune He’s Pocketed from Being in the White House

Thu, 09/11/2025 - 11:30

The White House wants Donald Trump to be respected as a king, and now the American people are giving him the royal treatment. Two new nicknames for the vexing political personality are gaining traction on X.

It’s all thanks to the epic trolling spearheaded by Gov. Gavin Newsom. The California official and his social team have been putting on a master class on mockery by hijacking Trump’s digital antics and absurd declarations about being the best leader for weeks.

(Photos by Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images; Andrew Harnik/Getty Images)

The silver-haired Democrat’s digital TKOs have even inspired a parody X account, where even more lethal jabs at Trump have been served.

The “Awesome Newsom” handle turned up the heat on the Republican amid Forbes‘ claim that Trump has made a $3 billion profit since winning the White House in November 2024. His estimated net worth is now being reported at $7.3 billion.

The parody account reshared a snippet of the article with the following message that unleashed the new monikers:

“DONALD (DOLLA MAKES ME HOLLA) TRUMP HAS MADE MORE $$$ FROM HIS PRESIDENCY THAN ALL OTHER PRESIDENTS COMBINED! YOUR #1 GOVERNOR, GAVIN C. NEWSOM, WORKS FOR AMERICA. TRUMP WORKS FOR TRUMP. MY OFFICE DOESN’T LOOK LIKE SOMEONE VOMITED GOLD. IT ISN’T A PALACE FOR KING ANGRY THE TURD!”

Reference to the king comes seven months after the official X account for the president’s residence tweeted, “CONGESTION PRICING IS DEAD. Manhattan, and all of New York, is SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING!” along with a TIME magazine-inspired portrait of Trump grinning as he wore a golden crown on his head.

Reactions to “Awesome Newsom” declared the taunting “brilliant” and “epic.” “I think Donald ‘Dolla Makes Me Holla’ Trump is my new favorite nickname of all time. Donnie ‘Two scoops/weeks’ and Conald are still up there though,” read one tweet.

A second X user reacting to the post wrote, “Best one yet!!” A third individual remarked, “Nailed it with this one.” A fourth said, “How are y’all feeling about this MAGA?”

As for Newsom’s real press office account, they have continued to call Trump “Douzy Don” among other names as well as taunt members of his administration. Vice President JD Vance has been dubbed “couch boy” and is sometimes referred to as “Just Dance” Vance, and Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has earned the nickname “Karolying.”

‘She Wanted That to Happen’: Former ’16 & Pregnant’ Star Farrah Abraham’s Barely-There Beach Look Has Fans Staring at What’s Hanging Out

Wed, 09/10/2025 - 23:42

Former “16 & Pregnant” star Farrah Abraham doesn’t mind baring skin for money, but apparently it doesn’t bother her to do it for free either.

Spotted at a Los Angeles beach on Sept. 7, the reality star gave an unguarded peek while rocking a skimpy swimsuit that showed off her cosmetic enhancements.

Abraham, who rose to fame on MTV’s series about teen moms and has a 16-year-old daughter, Sophia, clearly isn’t shy about flaunting her enhanced figure.

(Photo: @farrahabraham/Instagramc)

In the photograph spread shared by TMZ, Abraham wore a bright orange bikini, paired with a sheer, cropped, long-sleeved top and classic bottoms that had straps tied on each side.

While smiling in a couple of the photos, the content creator held her phone out as if she were either taking pictures of herself or talking to someone. In one, she took a stroll in the actual water. But as she was walking, Abraham’s bust appeared to be spilling out of the bottom of her shirt despite her see-through cover-up.

At first glance, the look might have appeared to be a wardrobe malfunction. However, a third photo of her actually posing for the photographer paints another picture.

In that shot, the 34-year-old stood up against a white rail one her foot propped on a surfboard. Even in that picture, Abraham didn’t appear to make any efforts to fix her shirt and cover her bosom or her backside, which hung out of her bikini bottoms as well.

Fans made their remarks about the photos on TMZ’s Facebook post.

One person said, “Well it’s not like she doesn’t have thousands of photos on the internet of her … I’ll bet she makes her daughter proud.”

A second person typed, “Come on man there’s enough plastic in the ocean already.”

Another wrote, “Anything for attention. Literally Anything. Gross.”

Abraham seems to live by the phrase “if you got it, flaunt it.” After “16 and Pregnant,” she continued on in the spin-off series “Teen Mom,” which documented her journey as a teen mother. The show followed her experiences with motherhood, her relationship with her mother, and the challenges of raising her daughter, Sophia.

Since her days on the show, Abraham has undergone multiple cosmetic procedures and often flaunts the results. She started her journey with cosmetic surgery in 2010, the year after she joined the “Teen Mom” television franchise. She decided to get a breast augmentation, and three years later she had a rhinoplasty and chin implant.

The social media influencer starred in all four seasons of Teen Mom (2009–2012). After the series concluded, she remained a prominent media figure, appearing in tabloids, reality series, and releasing her memoir, “My Teenage Dream Ended.”

But she didn’t stop there. Over the years, Abraham’s appearance has drastically changed and many online have noticed. According to the Daily Mail, she’s had three corrections on her breasts, injections in rear, as well as fillers in her cheeks and lips.

She told the outlet that she has no regrets about spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on her body. For her, it’s all been “preventative” measures against aging.

Abraham said she even gets a microneedling procedure done to keep her skin together.

She opened up about it on PageSix’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast and said, “Morpheus face. I’m really working through that right now. No matter if I’ve had the fat under my chin sucked up from a plastic surgeon, I’m still doing morpheus under there to keep it tight. It’s like, you’ve done all this work in your 20s but no matter what your skin is just kinda, boop, boop, boop, it just does its weird thing.”

Morpheus8 is a cosmetic device that uses radio-frequency energy to target fat and tighten skin, leaving it with a smoother, more youthful appearance.

‘Getting Harassed’: Barron Trump Back at the White House After School Exit Sparks Safety Rumors Over What His Parents’ Drama Brought Onto the Campus

Wed, 09/10/2025 - 21:29

New York University sophomore Barron Trump, 19, is once again a resident of Washington, D.C.

Barron has returned to the White House with his father, President Donald Trump, and mother, first lady Melania Trump, but will remain a student at NYU, according to the New York Post.

After spending his freshman year in college living in his dad’s Trump Tower skyscraper in Midtown, New York, the couple’s only son reportedly will be taking classes on the NYU campus in the nation’s capital this fall.

‘He’s Lying Low, with His New Girlfriend’: Barron Trump’s Sudden Disappearance Raises Red Flags After Critics Exposed Secrets About His Love Life

The Daily Mail reports that Barron is enrolled in the Stern Executive Master of Business Administration degree program.

Barron’s decision to relocate closer to his parents seems like a reasonable move for the teenager, but that has not stopped conspiracy-minded people from jumping to wild conclusions.

“Something is up! Nobody leaves NYU to live in DC while in college, wonder what’s really wrong,” an Instagram user speculated in response to the news of Melania’s only child moving back to D.C.

A more lighthearted comment about Barron’s potential role on the Trump administration’s social media team read, “You know he’s definitely running the official White House Instagram account.”

“He probably got driven out because no one likes him,” a cynical person on the app posted about the six-foot-9 aspiring businessman.

In contrast, someone took issue with Barron being publicly scrutinized by commenting, “What happened to leaving the President’s children alone. Let him live his life.”

Another suggested, “He’s probably moving back to the house because he’s getting trolled and harassed at school. I’m sure it’s not safe for him anymore but whatever good for you.”

Barron’s living situation became a newsworthy topic when tabloids began reporting that their insiders noticed he had not shown up for his first week at NYU for his second year on Sept. 2. It’s unclear exactly why he’s chosen to move away from campus, where he is often surrounded by secret service agents.

Rumors began circulating that Barron transferred from NYU’s Greenwich Village campus in New York to another remote location, which has since been supported by the recent reports.

“From what I was told,” an unnamed NYU campus security officer told People earlier this month, “he’s doing a semester at another NYU campus.”

A separate anonymous source stated, “Barron has been actively working on his own financial interests and has spent time with others who he is involved with in that area.”

Melania, 55, initially insisted that Barron preferred to live in New York during his first year at NYU. In September 2024, she said, “He wants to be in New York and study in New York and live in his home, and I respect that.”

Stories of Barron as a NYU freshman included conservative-leaning tabloids’ claims from unattributed sources that he was a “ladies’ man” and “really popular” with his fellow female students.

However, Trump denied his youngest child had a girlfriend during an October 2024 interview, while in a Vanity Fair profile of Barron he was described as “sort of like an oddity on campus” by former president of NYU College Republicans Kaya Walker.

“He goes to class, he goes home,” Walker added.

Trump, 79, and his family made their way back to the White House after the Republican politician was inaugurated for a second, nonconsecutive term on Jan. 20. Barron has not been seen with his father since the inauguration festivities.

Many political analysts credited Gen Z member Barron for helping Trump win the 2024 presidential election against then-Vice President Kamala Harris by pushing the MAGA leader to appear on popular online shows hosted by influencers such as Theo Von, Adin Ross, and Andrew Schulz.

‘Ate That Humble Pie Real Fast’: Man Who Picked Fight with Black Vacationers and Then Tried to Play Victim Gets Rude Awakening Once Police Sees the Video

Wed, 09/10/2025 - 21:12

Dubbed the “$1,000 Karen,” a South Asian man told police he was attacked by a group of Black women, but video evidence showed he was the aggressor, and he paid for their damaged personal property on the spot.

A Chicago social media influencer known as Angelicaaabae or “Jelly” was on vacation with her friends when the neighbor at their vacation rental began “tweakin on us,” as she wrote in the caption of her now viral video on Instagram.

As she and her friends stood outside the building’s gate where they were staying, the unidentified man told them to leave. “Give me the keys, give me the keys of the building,” he said to one of the women in the group.

When someone spoke up to defend her — “first of all, get the f-ck out of her face” — the situation quickly escalated, and he angrily approached them, moving within inches of their faces, yelling, “Hey.”

“I started screaming when he made his voice deeper and said ‘EY EY,’” wrote one observer in the comments. But what happened next was no laughing matter. He suddenly smacked the phone out of Angelicaaabae’s hand to prevent her from filming the confrontation, and she later claimed to the police that he pushed her.

Arkansas Football Fan Attacking Women at Tailgate Party Stops In His Tracks After Black Man Utters a Few Words, Video Shows

As he tried to retreat behind the gate, the women caught up to him and Angelicaaabae pushed him from behind, as seen on footage recorded by someone else in the group. He and his wife then called the police, and when officers arrived, he switched up his story and accused the women of attacking him and hitting him in the neck, unprovoked.

If it weren’t for the video evidence, he may have gotten away with it. Instead, the officers sided with the women, and he “ate that Humble Pie real fast,” wrote an Instagram user.

As soon as the word “jail” popped up in the conversation, the man capitulated, saying, “I will buy you a new phone, whatever phone you want.” With the two police officers standing by, the Chicago influencer brokered a deal for $1,000 in exchange for not pressing charges, and shockingly, he handed her an envelope full of cash right there on the sidewalk.

“I’m starting out fresh. I apologize, things got very heated, and I touched you, and I threw your phone,” he admitted.

“I would’ve pressed charges & got a big ole bag from him. We too damn nice!” wrote one person on Instagram. “NO MERCY for ‘men’ that think it’s okay to bully women,” exclaimed another, followed by “This might be the best video of 2025!”

“He would’ve paid damn near anything at that moment not to get locked up,” noted a commenter. “When being a Karen costs ya $1000.”

‘Disgraced His Good Name’: Charlie Sheen Says He Faced the ‘Biggest Betrayal’ from His Dad That Made a Bad Situation Worse

Wed, 09/10/2025 - 21:00

Actor Charlie Sheen is opening up about the “betrayal” he felt from his father during Sheen’s struggle with addiction.

While on a press run for his new memoir, “The Book of Sheen,” the “Two and a Half Men” star expressed how he really felt about his dad, Martin Sheen, turning him in to Los Angeles authorities in 1998. Sheen has battled with substance abuse on and off for over 30 years and has now been sober for eight years. But he still harbors feelings toward his dad.

On Sept. 8, Sheen sat with Michael Strahan on “Good Morning America” reflecting on the moment his father held him accountable.

“It felt like the biggest betrayal you could possibly endure,” Sheen recalled. “I saw it as love eventually. But in the moment, it’s like, in the book, when my bodyguard comes to the bedroom door and he says, ‘The U.S. Marshals are on the way. We’re leaving in five.’”

‘Dirty’: Charlie Sheen Thought Trump’s ‘Diamond’ Gift Was Real, Then He Got It Appraised and What the Jeweler Said Left Him Stunned

Fans responded to the clip on People’s website.

One said, “There’s a good chance Charlie is ALIVE because his father turned him in.”

Another wrote, “It’s a tough decision that a parent made with love.”

A third typed, “Martin Sheen is a kind, good soul. He did NOT deserve to end up with a nightmare kid (Charlie) who disgraced his good name. I always felt bad for Martin, while never feeling anything but contempt for Charlie and his evil ways.”

At the time, Sheen was already dealing with repercussions from a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend Brittany Ashland. The actress claimed Sheen had physically abused her by slamming her on the ground, knocking her unconscious, and splitting her lip. That December, Sheen declared no contest to the misdemeanor count of battery and, in turn, the judge gave him a sentence that avoided jail time. Instead, he had to serve two years probation, pay $2,700 in fines, 300 hours of community service and was ordered to stay away from Ashland.

CBS reported that Martin Sheen opened up in a 2008 interview with AARP explaining how he intervened in that moment.

“The only way I got to Charlie, frankly, was because he’d skipped out of the hospital. I had to pay the bill. In paying the bill, I got to see why he was in there. He’d consumed an illegal substance; he was on probation,” he said. “This was a criminal matter. And so that was the wedge; that was the leverage I had. That is what I took to the court; that’s what I took to the sheriff. It was the only way I got him.”

Despite his father’s efforts, Sheen’s legal troubles didn’t stop there. Sheen racked up other domestic violence accusations and charges over the years from women, including his ex-wife Denise Richards, and later his third ex-wife, Brooke Mueller.

In 2010, just two months after getting out of rehab, Sheen was kicked out of a hotel in New York for trashing the room. Reports claim Sheen was on cocaine and alcohol during the incident.

Sheen explained in his memoir that he tried marijuana at the tender age of 11 and moved on to cocaine in high school.

He had many visits to rehab, and his family even held an intervention for him when he was just 24. But none of those worked.

Sharing the reason behind his struggle to get sober, he told Strahan, “It’s hard to ask for help when somebody else has raised your hand for you.”

Even when he did get sober, the 60-year-old says it wasn’t to his own benefit.

In his memoir he wrote, “I didn’t get sober for me. I got sober for them. It was only a matter of time before I sneak out of a side door into the alley, where all things fun and familiar were lurking on standby.”

Sheen’s eight year sobriety began in 2017 during a driving incident with his daughter Sami Sheen.

Sami, 21, was 13 at the time and needed to be taken to an appointment. Sheen, who was going to drive her, realized he couldn’t get the job done because he was too intoxicated from drinking earlier. He ended up phoning a friend to take them instead.

He reportedly wrote, “There was only one thing that felt worse than betraying myself, and that was failing my children. In that car, on that day, with my best friend and a child I adore, I joined Sam in those mirrors and saw a guy who was desperate to finally come home for real.”

On Dec. 12, 2017, Sheen started his sobriety journey for his eldest daughter Cassandra’s  birthday.

‘Jesus Wouldn’t Have Endorsed Racism’: White Pastor Claims Black People Are 30 Times More Dangerous Than Whites, Sparking Outrage

Wed, 09/10/2025 - 20:00

A far-right Christian nationalist pastor who has previously drawn controversy for his positions on social and cultural issues is stirring debate online once again after asserting that white parents must teach their children that they face more danger interacting with Black strangers than white strangers.

Joel Webbon, the senior pastor of Covenant Bible Church in Austin, Texas, delivered these remarks in the Sept. 8 episode of a podcast produced by Right Response Ministries, a Christian nationalist website that he founded.

“If you’re a Christian white parent who loves the Lord and loves your children, you need to have ‘The Talk,'” said Webbon. “‘The Talk’ that we’re referencing is the talk that takes your children, according to their maturity, at the proper time, the appropriate time, and says, there are certain parts of town that you cannot go. And there are certain people that you cannot be around.”

Joel Webbon (Photo: X/Right Wing Watch)

He continued: “If there’s someone who is Black in our church, and they’ve been in our church and we know them and they love the Lord Jesus Christ, great. We’re not talking about that person. But we’re talking about when you go into a crowd of people, if you go into a crowd of strangers, and they’re white strangers, there’s some danger. If they’re Black strangers, there is 30 times more danger. Them’s the facts.”

Webbon goes on to suggest that it’s a parental failure and a deprivation of correct, factual instruction when parents teach children that “all people and all races of people in our country are the same.”

A clip of the comments went viral after being posted by Right Wing Watch, an advocacy group that monitors and exposes the activities of radical far-right political organizations.

Christian nationalist pastor Joel Webbon says white Christian parents need to have "the talk" with their children about avoiding black people: "It is actually a failure of your parental duty … if you lie to them and you say all people and all races of people in our country are… pic.twitter.com/GwUksCJ0aE

— Right Wing Watch (@RightWingWatch) September 9, 2025

Webbon’s remarks, like many of his previous comments on race relations, drew intense reactions on social media from many people who contended that Webbon’s stances are antithetical to Christian ideology.

“It’s a major failure of one’s parental duty to teach one’s children to be bigots. And this guy is supposed to be a Christian?” one X user wrote. “I’m no expert on religion but pretty sure Jesus wouldn’t have endorsed racism–even if you someone was willing to overlook someone’s race if that someone attended one’s church.”

“This is just fear wrapped in parenting advice,” another person wrote.

“‘Them’s the facts’ meanwhile it’s just his bigotry,” another comment read.

In the podcast episode, Webbon also suggests that Black parents should teach their children that many Black children and teens are “reprobates and misbehaved and rebellious toward authority, including police.”

Webbon is no stranger to making divisive remarks.

Last year, he drew backlash for maintaining that he’d prefer to have a white doctor rather than a Black one because, after being given the choice between a young Black and a young white doctor, he said it was more likely that the young Black professional was less qualified and “got a free pass” to start practicing medicine.

In a 2023 podcast, he also suggested that women shouldn’t have the right to vote when he was asked to visualize a “Christian nation.”

As a Christian nationalist, Webbon subscribes to an ideology that believes the United States was founded as a distinctively Christian country and that Christian values should guide public policy as well as the nation’s cultural norms.

The ideology, which typically carries an undercurrent of racial exclusion and xenophobia, has grown influential in the last decade as President Donald Trump has courted and garnered the support of many of its proponents.

‘Treated Her Like Leftovers’: La La’s Snub from Carmelo Anthony’s Speech Called the Ultimate Betrayal as Fans Urge Her to Drop This Last Piece of Him

Wed, 09/10/2025 - 18:02

NBA legend Carmelo Anthony achieved a career milestone when the former New York Knicks forward was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

Anthony, 41, was part of the 2025 Hall of Fame class that included former NBA player Dwight Howard, former WNBA player Sue Bird, NCAA championship-winning coach Billy Donovan, and other basketball greats.

During his induction speech, the former NBA star gave a shoutout to all the influential people in his life, failing to mention the one woman who stayed married to him during his basketball career, his ex-wife, Alani “La La” Vazquez, professionally known as La La Anthony.

“My kids saved me. They gave me a reason to move past ego, past noise, past criticism. They reminded me that legacy isn’t what you leave behind, it’s what you lift up,” Melo stated at the ceremony in Springfield, Massachusetts, on Sept., referring to his son, Kiyan, and his daughter, Genesis, who sat in the audience.

He continued, “To every woman who’s held us together, I owe everything to the strength of women. To the women who raised us, who loved us through our mistakes, who believe in us before the world saw our potential. I stand here because of you.”

‘A Whole Curveball Came My Way’: Carmelo Anthony’s Ex-Wife La La Reveals Shocking Truth About Secret Love Child Shattering Their Marriage

Anthony acknowledged his deceased father, Carmelo Iriarte, his late sister, Michelle Anthony, and his mother, Mary Anthony. He also gave a shoutout to several of his “real friends” for being part of his personal and professional journey. In addition, he saluted his college alma mater, Syracuse University, as well as the NBA’s Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks franchises.

The 10-time NBA All-Star went on to call single mothers, grandmothers, and sisters the “real MVPs” for their roles in raising children with absentee fathers.

To the surprise of many pop culture fans and media figures, Anthony did not directly thank his ex-wife and mother of 18-year-old Kiyan.

La La, 46, gave birth to Kiyan in 2007. She married Melo in July 2010 following a six-year engagement. Their wedding ceremony was filmed for the VH1 reality show “La La’s Full Court Wedding,” which debuted in September 2010.

Citing irreconcilable differences, La La filed for divorce from the 2013 NBA scoring champion in 2021. Their marriage was marred by constant allegations that Melo cheated on his wife.

Melo’s daughter, Genesis, arrived in 2017. Model Mia Angel Burks is said to be the mother of the 8-year-old child. Gensis was born while Anthony was still married to La La, causing critics to condemn the baller’s infidelity.

— Delulu & Messy (@butimjustagay) September 10, 2025

However, La La remains a target of online scrutiny as well. In particular, the former “Power” actress has been blasted for choosing to keep her ex’s last name after their breakup.

“Yet, she won’t give that last name back,” one AtlantaBlackStar.com Facebook user complained about La La in reaction to a post covering Kiyan and Genesis appearing at their father’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony. This prompted someone else to reply, “She probably wants to keep it because of her son. Change it when she gets married again.”

Another noticed, “He spoke of his mother beautifully and how strong she was but he treated her like second left overs.”

A fourth noted, “Marriage is for better or for worse La La experienced the better part but once she experienced the worst, she got outta there. So LaLa ended the marriage, not that baby.”

La La has explained why she continues to use Anthony as her last name despite separating from Melo. She told the crowd at the 2024 Fanatics Fest in New York City that Kiyan was the deciding factor in the decision.

“The moment of being able to buy Kiyan’s NBA jersey will be crazy,” panel moderator Taylor Rooks mentioned to La La about her son potentially following in his dad’s footsteps of becoming an NBA player.

La La responded, “That’s why I haven’t changed my last name yet,” before adding, “I’m gonna keep it around for a little while!” Kiyan’s first step towards basketball glory begins with him navigating the waters of college hoops as a Syracuse University freshman for the 2025-2026 season.

While La La’s post-marriage life continues to be analyzed by outsiders, Melo has not been left off the hook for his role in the collapse of their union.

A second person on Facebook wrote, “He is a grown man who made a decision to step out of his marriage, and resulted in him having a child, she is here, and he is in her life!”

‘He Looks Scared’: Trump Visibly Rattled and Started Flapping His Hands Once He Finally Realized the Crowd at His Big Night Out Was Not Praising Him

Wed, 09/10/2025 - 17:30

President Donald Trump’s bid to showcase that Washington is “safe” enough for him to dine out ended in a din of boos and chants Tuesday night, as protesters swarmed his high-profile meal just one block from the White House.

Trump arrived at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab on Sept. 9 with Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. It was an unusually public dinner for a president who rarely eats out in the capital during his second term, opting instead to visit his own hotels or remaining at the White House.

Reporters were summoned to hear Trump argue that the turnaround under his National Guard–backed crime crackdown has made D.C. “virtually crime-free” and prove that the city is open for business again.

“We’re standing right in the middle of D.C., which, as you know about over the last year was a very unsafe place — over the last 20 years,” Trump told reporters gathered outside, according to The Washington Post. “And now it’s got virtually no crime.”

But the scene at Joe’s undercut Trump’s victory lap. Diners and onlookers booed as the motorcade arrived, and protesters inside unfurled signs and shouted before being escorted out.

Protesters mixed opposition to the Guard deployment with criticism of the administration’s foreign policy, shouting lines including “Free D.C.! Free Palestine!” and “Trump is the H*tler of our time,” videos posted to social media show.

One video clip of Trump appearing visibly annoyed by the disturbance was especially rewarding for viewers. A clip uploaded to Threads read, “Trump’s face when he’s met with opposition is just golden. He crumbles under the pressure, he hates being questioned.”

The post quickly went viral, with over 6,000 likes and 500 comments and growing.

“He looks extremely pissed off. I hope it ruined his evening,” said Maggie Eric.

Some viewers were convinced Trump was caught off guard by the protest. “He was smiling until he realized what they were saying,” said Antahades.

Another added, “It took him a minute to realize they weren’t idolizing him. Then the light came on.” One noted that Trump “looked scared.”

“To me it looked like he almost wanted to do his empty brain dance because I dont think he heard what they said at first….once he understood, thats when he made the get out gesture…..!” another surmised.

“He looked super pissed when his head was tilting. His little hands were flapping. He definitely heard them,” Maggie Eric replied with the follow-up.

Other clips show Trump staring down the protesters who are just a few feet away from him inside the restaurant.

Trump used the moment to announce the expansion of the National Guard to another city where he says government officials may welcome him with open arms.

“We’re going to be announcing another city that we’re going to very shortly” adding that the mayor of that city and the governor of the state “would love us to be there,” reported AP.

Trump’s visit was due in part to prove reporters and others wrong who called out his penchant for staying within the White House walls to dine. When asked about it in the Oval Office last week, Trump responded, “Do you want me to prove you wrong?”

“I think it’s something we could consider doing. I’d love to do it,” he said. “I love the White House food, but after a while, I could see going to a nice restaurant. It’s safe.”

The White House claims nearly 2,200 arrests were made since the Washington crackdown on Aug. 7. However, local businesses are feeling the sting. “This is our pandemic 2.0,” said CEO of the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington to Axios. And according to online reservation platform OpenTable, reservations were down 20 percent in the city since Aug. 16.

“It’s never been more important for the Administration to recognize the important role restaurants and bars play in communities across the country,” said the Executive Director of the Independent Restaurant Coalition in a statement obtained by CNN. “The reality on the ground is tough. Reservations are down nationwide, costs remain high, and too many independent restaurants are operating on razor-thin margins.”

‘This Is a Hit Piece’: Trump Admin Rages at Damning Report Exposing Its Internal Mortgage Scandal—Right as He Gets Smacked Down in Lisa Cook Fight

Wed, 09/10/2025 - 17:00

As President Donald Trump was dealt a legal blow in his campaign to oust Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, fresh scrutiny has emerged over the hypocrisy at the heart of his attack.

Late Tuesday, a federal judge temporarily blocked Trump from removing Cook, the first Black woman to serve on the Fed’s Board of Governors, ruling that the president’s justifications for firing her failed to meet the legal threshold for “cause” required under the law.

Judge Jia M. Cobb of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said Trump’s move to oust Cook did not meet the standard of “professional neglect or wrongdoing,” in part because the alleged mortgage misstatements occurred in 2021—before Cook’s appointment to the Fed, according to New York Times.

“The best reading of the ‘for cause’ provision is that the bases for removal of a member of the Board of Governors are limited to grounds concerning a governor’s behavior in office and whether they have been faithfully and effectively executing their statutory duties,” Cobb wrote. “‘For cause’ thus does not contemplate removing an individual purely for conduct that occurred before they began in office.”

The ruling represents an early but significant setback for Trump, who has tried to frame Cook’s mortgages as proof of “deceitful and potentially criminal” behavior.

‘He Crumbles!’: Trump’s Viral D.C. Dinner Sparks Chaos as Protesters Heckle Him Up Close—Leaving the Internet Roaring Over His Wild Hand Gestures

Yet, as ProPublica is reporting, three members of Trump’s own Cabinet hold nearly identical mortgages listing multiple properties as “primary residences.” Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, and EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin all maintain such loans—precisely the arrangement Trump has denounced as grounds to fire Cook.

And the three Cabinet members have claimed they haven’t done anything wrong.

“This is just another hit piece from a left-wing dark money group that constantly attempts to smear President Trump’s incredible Cabinet members,” the White House said in a statement to Pro Publica.

“Unlike [Fed Gov.] Lisa ‘Corrupt’ Cook who blatantly and intentionally committed mortgage fraud, Secretary DeRemer, Secretary Duffy, and Administrator Zeldin own multiple residences, and they have followed the law and they are fully compliant with all ethical obligations.”

“Few consumers understand this issue, and if there is someone at fault here, it is likely the loan officer who likely advised them to sign up for this loan that obviously wasn’t for their primary residence,” real estate lawyer Doug Miller told Pro Publica.

“Loan officers who are competing for business will often quote lower rates in order to get a customer’s business,” he added. And, according to lawyers and federal sentencing data, mortgage fraud is rarely prosecuted.

But last month Federal Housing Finance Director Bill Pulte alleged that Cook “falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms, potentially committing mortgage fraud under the criminal statute.” Cook owns property in Georgia and Michigan.

It’s all part of Trump’s pressure campaign against the Fed, traditionally an independent agency that sets interest rates, which Trump has ranted about since before even taking office. He’s locked in a bitter feud with Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, who has refused to give in to Trump’s demands to lower rates.

And Cook has refused to leave her position.

“President Trump purported to fire me ‘for cause’ when no cause exists under the law, and he has no authority to do so,” Cook said in a statement last month.

“I will not resign and will continue my work to support the U.S. economy, as I have since 2022,” she added.

She also said she would not be “bullied to step down from my position because of some questions raised in a tweet,” in response to Pulte and Trump’s accusations.

The legal fight over Cook’s removal is far from over, with Trump vowing to press ahead. But Judge Cobb’s decision has undercut the administration’s central claim—and highlighted the glaring contradictions within Trump’s own Cabinet.

‘Who Dressed You?’: Chrissy Teigen’s Sweet Family Video Backfires When Fans Notice Her ‘Ridiculous’ Outfit

Wed, 09/10/2025 - 15:00

Chrissy Teigen has turned her side hustle into a family affair.

She, husband John Legend, and their four children have made regular appearances in social media posts, proving that her Cravings food products are palatable for everyone, including the tiniest of taste testers.

But instead of praising her grocery skills, fans were quick to zero in on Teigen’s outfit in her latest family clip.

Now the Sports Illustrated beauty hopes that added dose of cuteness will entice fans to hit their local Sprouts to pick up her new pasta sauces. Teigen, 39, had her two youngest kids, Esti and Wren, in tow as she filmed a promotion for the company’s latest offerings.

Teigen and her crew were filmed as she strutted into the grocery store and made a beeline to a shelf endcap where her four sauces, marinara, corn and truffle, tomato, and miso alfredo, were on display.

The entrepreneur enlisted the little tykes’ help to fill a handbasket with the glass jars. By the time they were done, Esti, Wren, and their mom were seated on the floor with a basket overflowing with sauce and grated parmesan cheese.

Multiple fans shared their excitement to purchase the products in the comments. Many were happily distracted by the littlest stars of the video. “Great commercial, Chrissy. Cute involving your kids,” said one person, though most were fixated on Teigen’s outfit.

The cookbook author’s sheer, cropped top—where you could see her bra—paired with denim cut-offs and thigh-high boots sparked debate, with many moms calling it completely unrealistic for everyday life.

A naysayer critically wrote, “What a ridiculous outfit. Who dressed you before you left the house ?” A second snide reaction to the wardrobe selection read, “Like yeah, every mom dresses like that and with 2 kids.”

Two other critics said, “CHRISSY the boots really?” and “I always wear boots like that to the store and sit on the floor of the grocery store.”

For others, Teigen’s style was an inspiration, as several noted that they owned similar boots but never considered pairing them quite like the model did. “I want to look like her when I go to the market,” said one supporter.

Legend’s wife has experienced her fair share of internet ridicule over her risqué clothes, or lack thereof, but none of it ever seems to influence her choices.

They Voted for Trump. Now Arkansas Farmers Say His Tariffs, Floods, and Frozen Federal Aid Could Wipe Them Out

Tue, 09/09/2025 - 18:16

Hundreds of Arkansas farmers gathered last week in Brookland, pleading for emergency financial relief as they struggle under mounting debt, rising costs, and collapsing crop prices. Many in the room had voted for President Donald Trump, yet they now fear the survival of their farms — and their families’ livelihoods — are at stake.

Chris King, who has farmed Arkansas soil for 40 years, told congressional staffers at the meeting in the northeast Arkansas town, “I have never been as worried as I am now about whether or not my kids and grandkids will be able to carry on,” according to local outlet KATV.

“You are going to lose 25 to 30 percent of the farmers in this country if they don’t do something,” said Scott Brown, who manages 800 acres in Biggers. “In the short term, they have no choice but to mail us a check.”

The meeting featured story after story of financial strain, aging equipment, and shrinking profits.

“I farm 800 acres by myself, I can’t afford any help, I farm with paid-for equipment, all my tractors are 50 years old, and I can’t hardly make this deal work,” Brown said.

“Prices that we are getting now are prices like they were when we were children, and what it costs for us to farm is astronomical now,” added Melissa King. “The price of a combine when we were kids was in the $20,000s, and now it’s $100,000.”

‘His Dementia Is Showing’: Fox News Pulls the Plug on Donald Trump As He Spirals Into Bizarre Speech About Washing His ‘Beautiful, Luxuriant Hair’

The current crisis follows one of Arkansas’s worst agricultural years on record.

April floods killed more than 100 people across multiple states and delayed rice farming for months. The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture estimated nearly $100 million in crop-related damages, with rice fields the hardest hit.

“This time last year, the rice price was about 40 percent higher than it is now,” said farmer Derek Haigwood. “Input costs have gone up, fertilizer has gone up, commodity prices have gotten worse. … This year is going to be worse.”

Farm commodity prices have dropped to their lowest since 2020, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. “Farmers are getting squeezed … making it harder or even impossible for them to position their businesses for long-term success,” said Maggie Monast of the Environmental Defense Fund.

Farmers say tariffs have only exacerbated the strain.

“Tariffs are the ice cream on the cake of a perfect storm,” Brown said. Without them, U.S. soybeans shipped to China would undercut Brazil’s prices. With tariffs, American crops can’t compete. Still, a Purdue University survey found that 70 percent of producers believe tariffs could eventually strengthen U.S. agriculture — if they survive long enough.

President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” promises expanded agricultural subsidies — largely through cuts to SNAP benefits (food stamps) and Medicaid — but not until 2026, according to the House Committee on Ways and Means. For farmers staring down immediate loan payments, that timeline is too far away.

“We have to have ad hoc payments right now to make it through this year,” Haigwood said.

Congressman Rick Crawford’s district director, Gene Higginbotham, offered sympathy but no timetable: “We’re going to do everything we can to get you the help you need.”

The stakes go beyond the farming sector. Fewer planted acres push up raw material costs, which trickle through the food supply chain. Over time, large corporations replace family farms, reducing competition and keeping prices high.

The Farmers emphasized they are not seeking charity — they are fighting for survival. “Without emergency aid before spring planting season, Arkansas could lose a third of its farms. And when the farms go, we all pay the price.”

Critics on social media were unsympathetic and quick to point out that farmers voted against their own best interest in the 2024 election.

One user on Threads wrote: “I’m sorry, but … Trump told farmers he was going to slap on tariffs, and they still lined up behind him. Kamala Harris offered crop insurance, but they went with the guy who was sure to crush their livelihoods. You weren’t even lied to, farmers. You were warned repeatedly …”

The problem spans nationwide. During the 2024 presidential election, farming-dependent counties overwhelmingly voted for Trump, with almost 78 percent supporting his candidacy, and similar support in 2020. Now, Trump’s policies are punishing these very communities.

Since taking office, Trump has effectively shut down USAID, which purchases roughly $2 billion of U.S. agricultural products annually, eliminating a critical market for American farmers. Roughly 86 percent of USAID contractors are American. The shutdown has forced nearly 13,000 layoffs, including workers linked to the Soybean Innovation Lab.

USDA programs are also frozen, delaying billions in loans and grants, including funds for renewable energy projects and new crops. Farmers who invested thousands of dollars in these projects face immediate losses.

“You can’t have people spend this kind of money and then just pull the rug,” said Travis Forgues, who invested in a solar array to power his farm.

Massachusetts farmer Ang Roell planned to install deer-proof fencing and orchard irrigation with $30,000 in USDA grants now on hold. “We risk losing the plants because we can’t keep up with the watering schedule,” Roell told NBC News.

Laura Beth Resnick of Butterbee Farm in Maryland spent $36,000 on solar panels through the frozen USDA renewable energy program. “Already, farmers are shrinking their businesses,” she told PBS. “And I’m really afraid about the future of farming if all these programs just go away.”

Labor and tariffs compound the crisis. An estimated 42 percent of U.S. farm workers are undocumented. Deportations could create labor shortages, driving prices up and leaving essential goods in short supply.

“Tariffs and deportations will pose some pretty significant economic challenges for the farmers of Wisconsin and the U.S. generally,” said Chuck Nicholson, associate professor of agricultural and applied economics at UW-Madison. Tariffs on imported equipment, fertilizers, and retaliatory tariffs abroad all threaten farm profits.

Extreme weather is adding further strain. The 11th-driest July followed the 11th-wettest May, delaying planting and causing uneven crop growth. Some fields never produced crops; others are facing delayed harvests of cabbage and sweet corn.

For many farmers, solutions like irrigation systems, water storage, and soil management are out of reach financially. As a result, supply disruptions, higher grocery prices, and potential long-term losses are on the horizon.

‘I Just Forgot Where I Was’: Lamar Jackson’s Explosive Response After Fan Slaps Him and Teammate Has Fans Saying They’ve Never Seen This Side of Him

Tue, 09/09/2025 - 17:35

Baltimore Ravens superstar Lamar Jackson, 28, got into an interaction with a Buffalo Bills fan during his team’s 41-40 loss in New York on Sept. 7.

Jackson led the Ravens into Highmark Stadium to face the Bills and reigning NFL Most Valuable Player Josh Allen. Buffalo’s Matt Prater kicked the walk-off, game-winning field goal to cap off the comeback victory for his football squad.

But during the third quarter, Jackson was caught on camera getting into a scuffle with a Bills jersey-wearing man in the stands after the fan slapped the two-time MVP winner and his teammate, DeAndre Hopkins, on their helmets.

Jackson had just thrown a 29-yard touchdown pass to Hopkins to give the Ravens a 34-19 lead before the overzealous fan got too handsy with the players. The unwanted helmet slaps triggered the Ravens quarterback to shove the man with both hands.

According to ESPN, the fan was ejected from the stadium and has been indefinitely banned from Bills and NFL venues. In addition to those disciplinary actions against the Bills Mafia member, Jackson had to address his part in the situation as well.

“He slapped me, and he was talking, so I just forgot where I was for a little bit. You gotta think in those situations,” Jackson said during a postgame press conference when questioned about the brief skirmish on the football field.

The former University of Louisville student-athlete added, “You have security out there. Let security handle it. But I just let my emotions get the best of me. But hopefully, it won’t happen again. I learned from that.”

A clip of Jackson’s in-game confrontation and his answer to the media about the viral slapping incident made the rounds on social media. In particular, the “SportsCenter” Instagram account shared the footage with the page’s 38.0 million followers.

“Keep your hands off, people. Fans think they can do anything and not get touched,” one person commented in defense of Jackson.

Even some self-described Bills supporters sided with the Ravens’ dual-threat QB in the comment section. Someone else expressed, “Bills fan here. He was justified in his actions. Don’t touch players.”

“Nah, that kid was in the wrong 100%. This is coming from a Bills fan,” read a similar reply. However, Jackson caught heat when one individual posted, “You get paid hundreds of millions of dollars to not forget where you are.”

Jackson signed a five-year, $260 million contract extension in April 2023 that made him the highest-paid player in the NFL at the time. He was asked about possibly inking a new deal with the franchise just days before the season opener against Buffalo.

“The season’s here,” Jackson said during a conversation with the press on Sept. 3, per CBS Sports. “I’m not worried about that. You were better off asking me that during camp. But I’m locked in. I’m ready for the season to start. That time will come.”

Next up for Jackson and the Ravens is a home game in Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium versus the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 14. The Ravens Flock fanbase should not worry that their All-Pro play caller will avoid interacting with them on game days.

“I’ve never seen our fans do that,” Jackson told reporters when asked if he plans to limit how close he gets to the crowd during his TD celebrations. “So, I’ll probably do it again when we score a touchdown. It’s not nothing against the fans. I’m just celebrating when my teammates get a touchdown.”

Jackson finished the 2024 NFL regular season with 41 touchdowns and 4,172 yards. He narrowly placed second in the league MVP voting to Allen, who racked up 383 total votes and 27 first-place votes. Jackson received 362 total votes, including 23 first-place votes.

‘LMAO’: The Rose Garden Disaster Barely Settled Before Donald Trump Gave Gavin Newsom a Gift-Wrapped Joke That Sparked His Best Clap Back Yet

Tue, 09/09/2025 - 16:59

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is far from done with Donald Trump‘s who recently revealed plans to put an octagon cage on the White House lawn for an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) match.

Dana White, the chief executive of the UFC, met with Trump in August about the proposed match and later confirmed, “It’s absolutely going to happen,” on the Fourth of July in 2026.

“This will be one of the greatest and most historic sports events in history, and President Trump hosting it at the White House is a testament to his vision to celebrate America’s monumental 250th anniversary,” White House Communication Director Steven Cheung said last week in a statement cited by The Wall Street Journal. “I know President Trump as a fighter. I’m in the tough guy business, and this guy is the toughest, most resilient I’ve seen in my life.”

‘WINNER, WINNER’: Fans Say Gavin Newsom’s Latest Post May Be the Clapback That Finally Shuts Trump Down

The president has long been a fan of the UFC and infamously made an appearance at WrestleMania’s “Battle of the Billionaires” in the 1980s. Trump first brought up the idea of a caged match at the White House in July, per MSN. Trump said he wanted 20,000 fans in attendance at the celebration.

Newsom has been trolling Trump for weeks by sarcastically typing in the president’s all-caps format, and his latest jab at the president’s UFC plans has fans cracking up.

On Sept. 3, the governor shared an AI image of himself bouncing an orange baby Trump inside a cage on X. At the end of the video, Newsom sets a petulant Trump down on a gold mat inside the cage before it locks.

“YOU INFLATED INFANT. WE KNOW YOU CAN’T SEE YOUR FEET BUT CAN YOU NOT SEE THE COUNTRY? PEOPLE CAN’T AFFORD FOOD. CAN’T FIND JOBS. AND YOU’RE PLAYING ROCK ‘EM SOCK ‘EM ROBOTS ON THE WHITE HOUSE LAWN! WE’RE EMBARRASSED. YOU’RE “MAKING AMERICA MORTIFIED AGAIN!” YOU’RE MAMA NOT MAGA,” read a post shared on a parody account from Gov. Newsom’s Press Office on Threads.

Fans responded by expressing how equally appalled they were by Trump’s proposed UFC match at the White House.

“What an embarrassment! Talk about lowering the tone,” they wrote. “Such an iconic building of historic importance lowered to nothing better than a circus! Should make DJT feel right at home [clown]!”

In response to some critics who felt Gavin was feeding into the baited traps set by Trump, one wrote, “Gavin Da Goat!!!”

Another said, “And yet you maga snowflakes cry every time he tweets lol.”

In contrast, fans on X were more taken aback by Newsom’s top-tier level of trolling Trump.

One fan wrote, “Hands down, the best one so far. Bravo! Absolute masterpiece!”

Another fan suggested a real match between the two men. “Back and forth trolling, I like that. Let’s make it a real fight. I suggest karaoke. Let’s do it.”

The White House is reportedly planning to add a jumbo screen for the UFC event to inundate the public at Ellipse Park, among other changes that have been objected to online.

On Sept. 6, after House Speaker Mike Johnson posted photos from the grand opening of the new Rose Garden Club at the White House, Newsom and his team quickly chimed in with a new nickname for the space they dubbed, “Predator Patio.”

“Our economy is in a downward spiral, but don’t worry — the @GOP are spending their time cheersing Diet Cokes at a new, exclusive ‘club,'” he wrote on X.

Romeca Meeks Wrote Loving Note to Son on His First Day of School. Minutes Later, Chicago Mother Was Allegedly Shot and Killed in Fight Over Child’s Father

Tue, 09/09/2025 - 16:34

A Chicago mother was reportedly shot and killed during a fight with another woman shortly after dropping her son off for his first day of school.

According to local news affiliates, police reported that the fatal altercation took place just after 9 a.m. on Monday, September 8, in the 2200 block of South State Street in Chicago’s South Loop.

Authorities say the fight took a deadly turn when the woman pulled out a gun and shot the 31-year-old mother in the face.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she died.

It’s unclear at this time what triggered the fight, but authorities believe that both women knew each other and that the incident is connected to a personal dispute.

Authorities took the alleged shooter into custody, but have announced no charges against her.

Police have yet to identify the victim and the shooter, but other reports citing numerous social media accounts identified the victim as 31-year-old Romeca Meeks and the shooting suspect as a woman dating the father of Meeks’ child.

A graphic cellphone video making the rounds online shows the aftermath of the shooting, in which multiple people are present at the blood-splattered slaying scene. The footage shows a victim lying next to a white sedan.

A man social media users identified as Carlos Losos Way, the reported father of Meeks’ child, was also present at the scene. Way also reportedly shares a child with the suspected female shooter.

Witnesses in the video are heard yelling that Way had Meeks in a headlock before the other woman shot her. One woman is heard demanding that the police arrest the woman, saying that she saw her shoot the victim and place the gun in her car.

The woman yells back, “I have a license to carry!”

On the day of the shooting, Way wrote on Facebook, “Worst day of my life,” which drew numerous reactions and responses. He later deleted the post.

Shortly before the fatal incident, Meeks also shared a photo of a note she wrote to her son before dropping him off at school that’s now being widely reshared in light of the tragedy. The note reads, “Happy Monday son, this is a fresh start to this day and you can start off strong. Always remain yourself, you’re the coolest, smartest and funniest kid I know. I love you so much. – Love Mommy.”

A close friend of the victim told WGN9 that the victim was an outstanding and devoted mother who was in school working to become a nurse.

Deadly Love Triangle: Nashville Wife Shot Dead After Storming Mistress’ Home in Heated Fight Over Husband

Tue, 09/09/2025 - 16:00

A heated confrontation between a Tennessee woman and her husband’s mistress turned lethal when one of the women fatally shot the other in the stomach.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the incident happened on Aug. 25 at a home on Scalf Drive in Nashville, Tennessee.

Police say that 42-year-old Keiona Wilson drove to a home belonging to Keosha Greer. Wilson went to the house looking for her husband, who was “in a dating relationship with Greer,” according to police.

Wilson arrived to find her husband’s car parked behind Greer’s home and used her copy of the car key to move it to the front.

Afterward, she approached the home and knocked on the front door. Greer saw Wilson out front through the home’s surveillance camera and began speaking to her through the surveillance system speaker.

Authorities say both women got into a “heated argument” over the speaker about whether Wilson’s husband was inside.

When Wilson tried to force her way inside, police say that “Greer fired one shot into the storm door.”

Wilson wasn’t struck, but she eventually gained entry into the house.

Both women started physically fighting once Wilson was inside, and Greer fired off a second shot, which struck Wilson in the abdomen.

Wilson fled the home, got in her husband’s car, and drove a short distance before flagging down an officer outside a local police precinct.

She was rushed to the Skyline Medical Center, where she died.

Local law enforcement consulted with the District Attorney’s Office and decided not to file charges at this time.

“A determination of possible charges will be made after further investigation,” police wrote in a release.

‘Sooo True!!’: After Trump’s Top Officials Nearly Came to Blows at Dinner, the Internet Roasted Them with a Brutal Nickname That Went Viral Fast

Tue, 09/09/2025 - 15:45

A private dinner for senior Trump administration officials in Georgetown exploded into a shouting match last week when Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent threatened to physically attack Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte, warning, “I’m gonna punch you in your f—ing face.”

The spectacle only made it easier for critics to paint President Donald Trump’s inner circle as chaotic, classless, and desperate for his attention.

The tense clash popped off Wednesday night at the Executive Branch, a private club in Washington co-owned by Republican megadonor Omeed Malik. The dinner doubled as a birthday party for venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya, host of the conservative “All-In” podcast.

Roughly 30 Cabinet officials were in attendance, including Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard, and Medicare and Medicaid chief Mehmet Oz.

Bessent didn’t come to celebrate.

Witnesses told Politico that during the cocktail hour, Bessent walked up to Pulte breathing fire and accused him of backstabbing. “Why the f— are you talking to the president about me? F— you,” he said. “I’m gonna punch you in your f—ing face.”

Bessent then told Malik, “It’s either me or him. You tell me who’s getting the f— out of here.” He followed up with another challenge directed at Pulte: “We could go outside.”

When Pulte asked if the two could “talk,” Bessent snapped back, “No. I’m going to f—ing beat your a–.”

Malik intervened to break it up, according to Politico. Both men later sat at opposite ends of the dinner table as the party continued without further incident.

— Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) September 8, 2025

Accounts differ on whether Bessent or Pulte initiated the confrontation, but the episode underscored simmering tensions between two of Trump’s top economic appointees.

Either way, the fiasco quickly became fodder for readers particularly on MSN.

“In a nutshell: This is how far we’ve fallen as a nation. No manners. No respect. No impulse control. No thought for the people around them,” Clark Farent noted.

Vicky had a nickname for Trump’s squad that quickly went viral. “I said back around January that this administration would be like the Three Stooges, only with more stooges. Not wrong, was I? (Not bragging either, it was pretty obvious.)”

Jo An Fry had a hiliarious spin that offered a nickname for both the president and his admin, “We have a government run by immature, pathetic bullies who are only concerned with being the master bully’s favorite. We are at another low point in U.S. history that is a threat to everything this country was meant to be.”

Another poked fun at Trump’s insistance to push the national guard in cities to quell violence. “So that’s where the DC violence was that we’ve heard so much about. Where was that fearsome military presence when needed?” That one landed well with readers, “Good one, thats funny!” and “SOOO TRUE LOL”

In May, Trump had tasked Bessent, Pulte, and Commerce Secretary Lutnick with developing a plan to privatize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the mortgage-finance giants that back trillions in U.S. home loans.

According to four Trump insiders who spoke with Politico, Pulte has assumed a more aggressive role in shaping the initiative in recent weeks, sparking friction with Bessent.

The two men have also disagreed on broader economic issues. Pulte has drawn notice for firing more than 100 staffers at Fannie and Freddie and for initiating investigations into Trump political enemies, while Bessent has sought to act as a stabilizing influence in the White House.

It was Pulte who issued a criminal referral last month accusing Federal Reserve Board of Governors member Lisa Cook of mortgage fraud — claiming she listed two separate homes as her primary residence — as a cover for Trump to attempt to fire her.

Neither Bessent, Pulte, Malik, nor the White House commented on the alleged dinner incident.

The Georgetown dinner fracas is not the first time Bessent’s temper has allegedly erupted.

In April, he was involved in a West Wing shouting match with tech billionaire Elon Musk, then head of the Department of Government Efficiency, over who should select the new IRS commissioner.

Witnesses said Bessent screamed “F— you! F— you! F— you!” at Musk within earshot of Trump. Musk, for his part, called Bessent a “total fraud.”

According to Steve Bannon, Musk then rammed his shoulder into Bessent “like a rugby player,” prompting others to get between them. Musk later appeared in the Oval Office sporting a black eye on his final day leading the DOGE unit.

That might explain the black eye.

— David Shapiro (@DavidShapiro98) June 7, 2025

Asked about it by reporters, Musk claimed the injury came from his 5-year-old son. “I was just horsing around with Lil’ X. And I said, ‘Go ahead, punch me in the face.’ And he did,” Musk joked. “Turns out, even a 5-year-old punching you in the face actually [leaves a mark].”

In August, Bessent flatly denied responsibility, telling Bloomberg: “I can 100 percent say I did not give him the black eye.”

The Treasury Department and Musk’s representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
