‘A Piece of Trash’: White Man Who Butchered Black College Student After First Date Gets Life, But Not Before Her Mom Screams for Him to Return ‘Back to Hell’ In Courtroom Showdown

Tue, 08/05/2025 - 12:53

The man who murdered and dismembered a 19-year-old Black woman after their first date will spend life in prison without the possibility of parole.

A judge handed down that sentence to 34-year-old Maxwell Anderson, who was convicted in June of the grisly murder and mutilation of Sade Robinson.

Sade Robinson’s body was found severed after allegedly going on a date with Maxwell Anderson, left. (Photos: Facebook/Sade Robinson, Milwaukee County Circuit Court)

Anderson killed Robinson after the pair went on a first date in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on April 1, 2024.

The day after their date, Robinson’s severed leg washed ashore at a Lake Michigan beach park, and her car was discovered torched in an alleyway.

In the weeks that followed, several more of her body parts were found on the shores of lakes in Wisconsin and Illinois. Still, after more than a year, all of her remains have not been located, including part of her head.

From the time Anderson was arrested, he never made any public statements about the allegations he faced — not until his sentencing hearing on Aug. 1.

During the hearing, he claimed innocence and said he planned to appeal his convictions, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

“I offer my deepest and most sincere condolences to Sade’s family as well as everyone else affected by this tragedy,” Anderson said. “That being said, your honor I took this to trial without ever once trying to make a plea deal of any kind … because I did not commit these crimes. So, I’m planning to appeal my convictions. While I hope and pray that further investigation will not only prove my innocence, but find and deliver true justice.”

The judge presiding over his case didn’t side with his claims of innocence, calling his crimes “unconscionable,” as she delivered his sentence.

“I think it takes away a little piece of my soul. How come I couldn’t find anything good? How come I can’t find anything that I can say, at some point, you’ll be a better person?” Judge Laura Crivello said.

Robinson’s parents, who were also present for the sentencing, made fiery and impassioned statements as they condemned Anderson for the heinous death of their daughter.

“Judge, I’m asking this demon be respectfully returned back to hell as soon as possible,” Robinson’s mother, Sheena Scarbrough, said. “My daughter had to cross his demonic path. You plotted and planned to kill, dismember, then you disrespectfully spread my daughter across Milwaukee like a piece of trash. My daughter referred to you as a man. You will never be a f***ing man. You’re a p***y a** b****,” she added in a direct remark to Anderson, who was seated a few feet away.

Robinson’s father said he’s unable to “get past” the way his daughter was cruelly murdered.

“She was amazing. She lit up every room she went in,” Carlos Robinson said. “People lose their children. That’s sometimes part of life. But to lose your child in this manner … there’s no therapy, no kind of treatments for that.”

Anderson was convicted of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilation of a corpse, and arson of property. The homicide conviction carries a mandatory life sentence in Wisconsin. Judge Crivello also sentenced him to another 7 1/2 years for the dismemberment charge and another year and a half for the arson charge.

Key evidence prosecutors presented during his trial included surveillance footage tracking Anderson’s movements and incriminating photos that he deleted from his phone. One showed him groping Robinson’s right breast as she lay incapacitated on his basement floor.

Video footage also showed Robinson’s car leaving Anderson’s apartment in the early morning hours of April 2 and driving to the Lake Michigan shoreline. Prosecutors maintain that’s where Anderson cut up her body without being seen. He later set her car on fire behind an abandoned building, then took a bus home.

An informant also told detectives that Anderson had plotted Robinson’s murder weeks before he took her on their first date and walked him through the detailed plan.

Robinson was a college student studying criminal justice at Milwaukee Area Technical College. She was set to graduate in May 2024, just one month after her untimely and tragic murder.

‘She Was Much Prettier’: Karoline Leavitt’s Dramatic Makeover Has Fans Doing a Double Take After Side-by-Side Photos Expose a Jaw-Dropping Before-and-After

Tue, 08/05/2025 - 11:30

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt cannot escape the internet constantly commenting about her appearance.

Leavitt, 27, became the youngest press secretary in American history when President Donald Trump selected her for the position in January 2025.

The Saint Anselm College graduate is often the target of online trolls who take joy in mocking the spokesperson for the Trump administration.

For instance, an X account recently uploaded a photograph collage of the Republican Party member to the platform. One image was from 2017 while the second pic was taken during Leavitt’s time working at the White House.

“Karoline Leavitt HATES side-by-side photos that show her nose. DO NOT REPOST, @PressSec does not want people seeing this,” the self-described “rage farmer” sarcastically captioned the picture.

That tweet totaled more than 30,000 views, 1,000 likes, 1,000 reposts, and 230 replies since being posted on July 31. Other X users then shared their thoughts Leavitt’s apparent change in looks.

“She definitely wrecked her face,” one person on X expressed. A second person on the networking app compared Leavitt to the late King of Pop, tweeting, “She was much prettier before she resembled Michael Jackson.”

A likeminded individual added, “What’s really sad for her is she looked better before the MAGA makeover.” Additionally, another Leavitt critic wrote, “She looked way better in the before pic, but MAGA Stepford’s wife has to do what is expected.”

However, someone had an issue with the original poster and people in the replies dragging Leavitt over her facial features, stating, “Gee, really important stuff. You have to attack her looks, why?”

Leavitt also received mixed reactions on her own Instagram page. In late July, the New Hampshire native shared a photo carousel from her trip to Scotland with Trump. The former “The Apprentice” star opened a new golf course in the United Kingdom.

“Smart, dignified, kind, beautiful and charming girl… dedicated. Mr. Trump is proud of you,” a fan voiced in the Instagram comment section. Yet another supporter called the mother of a one-year-old baby a “flawless momma.”

Similar to X, Instagram was also filled with comments making fun of Leavitt’s face. For example, a commenter wondered, “How you already look 40?” One reply suggested, “The result of so many lies and hypocrisy.”

Both Leavitt and Trump were ruthlessly ridiculed in a viral episode of “South Park.” The animated show’s season 27 premiere, titled “Sermon on the ‘Mount,” parodied the POTUS and his press secretary.

“South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone depicted the president as a wannabe dictator who was in a romantic relationship with Satan. A cartoon version of Leavitt showed up in multiple scenes as well.

Leavitt has also been ridiculed over her marriage to 60-year-old real estate developer Nicholas Riccio. Their age gap remains a talking point for the failed congressional candidate’s detractors.

Riccio and Leavitt tied the knot in January 2025, just days before Trump was inaugurated for a second time on the 20th of that month. The couple share one child. Nicholas “Niko” Riccio, was born in July 2024.

‘Can Anything Be Reversed’: Larsa Pippen’s Old Photo with Scottie Goes Viral After Fans Zoomed In and Accuse Her of Butchering Her Natural Look

Mon, 08/04/2025 - 22:21

Larsa Pippen is “unrecognizable” to X users, stunned by the evolution of her appearance. Countless people on the social app are now convinced that she was flawless at laying eyes on a photo of her from 1999.

The image that has hundreds of people talking shows the socialite wrapped in ex-husband Scottie Pippen’s arms. The former couple was married for 19 years when they divorced in 2021. They are parents to Scotty Jr., Preston, Justin, and Sophia.

Larsa Pippen fans pick apart her beauty as throwback photo reveals how much her appearance has changed. Photo: Larsapippen/Instagram.

Just like her love life, it appears as though Larsa’s face has undergone a number of changes since the booed-up snapshot occurred. Her affinity for dark hair with golden-blond highlights, thick eyebrows, and a nude lip has remained, but social critics have a lengthy list of comments that suggest alleged plastic surgery procedures completely altered her beauty.

A stunned commenter exclaimed, “Wow! She was so GORGEOUS,” in the reactions to the X post. Several others were distracted by what meets the eye. A second person shared, “Larsa looks better before all the filler and surgeries. She has a unique beauty. Now she looks like any Instagram model.”

“The self hate must be so strong, I can’t believe she butchered all that natural beauty!” remarked a third user. Someone else described the “Real Housewives of Miami” O.G. as looking “awful” with a “blown up face and body” as they questioned, “Can anything be reversed?”

Las Vegas plastic surgeon Dr. Christopher Costa, who has never worked with the star, told the U.S. Sun in June the head-to-toe transformation may have included “lipo to the torso, possibly paired with a BBL…the nose shows signs of prior rhinoplasty…lip fillers…giving her that contoured, high-glam, almost doll-like aesthetic.”

A fourth comment read, “I’m in the minority here. For this picture to be taken almost 30 years ago I would say she looks better now even as a older woman. She looks pretty basic here. She looks more exotic now.”

Larsa, though, is unbothered by what others make of her appearance. In a US Weekly interview from 2022, she said, “I feel pretty good about my body, and I feel pretty good about, you know, where I am today.”

Her younger looks, though, have been a hit on the dating scene. The reality TV personality dated Marcus Jordan, Michael Jordan’s son, for two years, and is currently in a relationship with former international basketball player Jeff Coby.

‘Who’s Josh?’: Confused Black Man Repeatedly Asked Why He Was Being Detained Before Colorado Cops Tased Him Eight Times In 90 Seconds. Now, the City’s Paying for His Death

Mon, 08/04/2025 - 20:29

Two Colorado Springs cops deployed their tasers eight times within 90 seconds while arresting a Black man who had nothing to do with the alleged disturbance they were responding to inside an apartment in 2018, resulting in Jeffrey Melvin’s death.

“You’re killing me,” cried the 27-year-old man as the cops were arresting him. “You’re honestly killing me. I can’t breathe.”

On Tuesday, Melvin’s family were granted a $3.2 million settlement by the city of Colorado Springs which was listed as a defendant in the lawsuit, according to KKTV.

Jeffrey Melvin was killed by Colorado Springs cops after he was tasered eight times in 90 seconds. His family just received a $3.2 million settlement. (Photo: KKTV and body camera)

However, the cops that deployed the Tasers who were also initially listed as defendants were spared from legal liability because they were granted qualified immunity by an appellate court in 2023 on the basis there was no “clearly established” law limiting the amount of times they were allowed to taser and torture suspects.

That is why Colorado Springs Police Chief Adrian Vasquez issued a press release to local media denouncing the settlement, accusing the law firm representing Melvin’s family of putting “out a press release providing grossly inaccurate information regarding the settlement.”

It is not clear what press release the chief was referring to because there is no mention of any press release from the Killmer Lane law firm in any of the local news articles or on the law firm’s website or its social media channels.

And the law firm has not yet responded to an inquiry from Atlanta Black Star about the press release that irked the police chief where he had to issue his own press release stating the following.

I find it highly inappropriate and concerning that Kilmer Lane LLC are attempting to capitalize on this settlement in the manner they’ve chosen.

When our officers responded to the disturbance call for service that led them to contact Mr. Melvin, they hoped only to resolve the situation peacefully. Under the law and based on the officers’ training, they acted justifiably to detain Mr. Melvin, and we stand behind our officers and their actions.

Perhaps Chief Vasquez took offense over the following statement from Melvin’s sister, Tanesha Melvin, that was provided to the media by the law firm saying the cops who killed her brother were “held accountable” by the settlement.

“We pray that this settlement creates changes in policing, and teaches that when officers use excessive force, they will be held accountable so that other families do not have their families ripped away from them like Jeff was from us.”

Or maybe the chief was upset over the following statement attorney David Killer provided to media predicting these needless deaths will continue if the local police department do not adequately train their officers.

If they continue to do things the way they’ve been doing them, and they can’t reflect upon their training practices and their policies and their policing of the community, then of course, it’s going to continue to happen.

Watch the video below.

‘You’re Going to Get Hurt’

The incident took place on April 26, 2019, after Colorado Springs police officers Daniel Patterson and Joshua Archer responded to an apartment complex over a disturbance call, encountering a man, a woman and a 16-year-old girl.

The man told the cops that he had gotten in a fight with his “homeboys” but had already kicked them out, according to KRDO-TV.

Patterson took the 16-year-old girl outside the apartment to speak with her while Archer remained inside speaking to the man and woman. The girl called her uncle to come pick her up and re-entered the apartment, leaving Patterson standing outside.

Meanwhile, Melvin came walking up to enter the apartment, encountering Patterson standing outside who asked if he was going to enter the apartment.

Patterson’s body camera was turned off but he claimed that Melvin told him he was not going to enter the apartment before brushing past him and entering the apartment, shutting the door behind him, not realizing another cop was inside.

Patterson opened the door and called out “Josh” to his partner, prompting Melvin to ask who was Josh. Patterson then ordered him to place his hands behind his back. A confused Melvin kept insisting there’s “no Josh here,” stating he’s not Josh and even adding that “Josh is next door.”

Melvin began resisting and a struggle ensued, but the appellate briefing states that “the Officers concede that Mr. Melvin ‘did not initiate any physical contact; he never attempted to hit, kick, bite, or spit at the Officers; and he never threatened anyone.’” He only asked on several occasions why he was being detained.

Nevertheless, Patterson told him, “You’re going to get hurt if you don’t stop.”

The Appellate Ruling

This is how it all played out, according to the appellate briefing that granted the officers qualified immunity:

After struggling physically with Mr. Melvin for approximately one minute, Officer Patterson directed Officer Archer to use his Taser on Mr. Melvin. Officer Archer deployed the first Taser cartridge at Mr. Melvin for five seconds and then, five seconds later, deployed a second Taser cartridge for five seconds. Mr. Melvin cried out in pain both times.

After the second Taser deployment, Mr. Melvin told the Officers he had asthma. Twenty seconds after the first two cartridges were deployed, while Officer Patterson was holding Mr. Melvin’s arms behind his back, Officer Archer tased Mr. Melvin a third time for five seconds. Mr. Melvin again reacted in pain.

Twelve seconds after the third deployment, while Officer Patterson was holding Mr. Melvin’s hands behind his back with one arm and had his second arm around Mr. Melvin’s neck, Officer Archer deployed the Taser for a fourth five-second cycle.

Eleven seconds after the fourth deployment, Officer Archer tased Mr. Melvin a fifth time while Officer Patterson continued to hold Mr. Melvin and struggle with him on the ground. Less than fifteen seconds after Officer Archer deployed his fifth and final Taser cartridge, Officer Patterson pushed Mr. Melvin away and deployed his OC spray in Mr. Melvin’s face. Mr. Melvin began to flee the apartment.

The body-worn camera footage shows that Officer Patterson yelled “Stop or you’re getting tased.” Archer BWC at 21:18–19. Officer Patterson then deployed his first Taser cartridge at Mr. Melvin, before immediately deploying a second cartridge. The effect of the Taser caused Mr. Melvin to fall to the ground where he laid incapacitated for approximately five seconds.

Mr. Melvin then stood, batted away the Taser wires, and ran out of the building. The Officers chased Mr. Melvin for approximately thirty-five seconds before he collapsed outside the building with one arm underneath his body. The Officers continued to attempt to handcuff Mr. Melvin. Officer Patterson struck Mr. Melvin in the abdominal area twice to force Mr. Melvin to put his hands behind his back. Mr. Melvin said things like “You’re killing me. You’re honestly killing me”; “I can’t breathe”; “You’ve gotta get off. You’ve gotta get off”; and “I’ve honestly got asthma.”

Melvin was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing and transported to a hospital where he died less than a week later.

At no point during the struggle did the officers inform him why they were trying to arrest him but the appellate court ruled that he should have complied anyway which is why they granted the cops qualified immunity.

Mr. Melvin was not subdued, he was informed that he was being detained, and he was instructed to stop resisting. As a result, the Estate has failed to demonstrate that the Officers’ conduct violated Mr. Melvin’s clearly established rights.

But Killmer, the attorney, still viewed the settlement as a victory.

“Seven years is a painfully long time to wait for justice in the wake of such a tragedy,” he told KKTV.

“The Melvin family has bravely fought this fight; it has been my firm’s privilege to represent them. This settlement will provide opportunities for Jeff Melvin’s kids in honor of their father’s memory.”

‘This is Very Hard for Me to Look At’: Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 78th Birthday Photo Backfires as Fans Zoom In, Reopen Wounds from His Infamous Affair and Point to Ongoing Tension with His Love Child

Mon, 08/04/2025 - 17:58

The hornet’s nest was kicked on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 78th birthday, causing some social media users to dredge up his adulterous past. “The Terminator” actor celebrated another year of life on July 30.

Well wishes from fans poured in across the web, including on Instagram, where his daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger’s, heartfelt post doted on years of happy memories.

Arnold Schwarzenegger fans zoom in on family photos excluding his love child, Joeph Beena. Photographed: Christoper, Christina, Maria Shriver, Arnold, Katherine, and Patrick Schwarzenegger via Katherineschwarzenegger/Instagram.

She shared a carousel of photos — one of her as a child as she and the former bodybuilder were horseback riding, another of her and the star in recent years, a happy family snapshot of the Hollywood A-lister with his daughter, his ex-wife Maria Shriver, and sons Patrick and Christopher Schwarzenegger, and more.

In the caption, she wrote, “Happy birthday daddy! King opa! We love you!” The comments prompted reactions such as “These pictures are so great” and “Daddy/daughter goals.” For other onlookers, the images were amiss.

“This is very hard for me to look at. This man cheated on his pure and loving family,” wrote one person resurfacing Arnold’s affair with former housekeeper Mildred Baena in 1996. The infidelity led to the birth of his fifth child, son Joseph Baena, and fractured his marriage to Maria.

She filed for divorce in 2011 after 25 years as husband and wife. It was finalized in 2021. A second user commented, “I’d be distant if my parent did what he did.” A third person remarked, “Mommy’s not gonna like the 3 pic,” where the exes stand side-by-side in the group shot with their four kids.

A fourth person zoomed in on the family moment when they typed, “You’re missing a brother in those pics.” In 2023, a purported Page Six source alleged, “The other kids don’t love Joe. It’s a shame as he’s a really good kid, and Arnold has always treated him like all his other kids — very fairly. But for whatever reason, the other kids take [the affair] out on Joe.”

The bodybuilding enthusiast was most recently spotted at the “Fubar” premiere, starring Arnold, in June. Also in attendance were his half-siblings, though none of them posed for photos with him on the red carpet.

Arnold, however, split his time in front of the camera by doing solo shots and photos with his eldest kids together, as well as poses with just him and Joseph.

‘Hit a Nerve and Rattled You’: Charlamagne Tha God Rips Trump as ‘Donkey of the Day’ After President’s ‘Racist Sleazebag’ Attack

Mon, 08/04/2025 - 15:05

Charlamagne Tha God wasn’t even the main guest on Lara Trump’s Fox Nation show, “My View” on Sunday. But his remarks about President Donald Trump’s failed promises on the economy and his close ties to Jeffrey Epstein were enough to send the president into a full-blown tirade.

Shortly after the segment aired, Trump exploded on Truth Social, firing off a post that called The Breakfast Club host a “racist sleazebag” and a “low-IQ individual.” Trump then questioned why Charlamagne was “allowed to use the word ‘GOD’” in his name and accused him of knowing “nothing about me or what I have done.”

Hours later, Charlamagne fired back at Trump in his own post.

Charlamagne Tha God speaks onstage during the Variety and Rolling Stone Truth Seekers Summit presented by Paramount+ + at Second on August 15, 2024, in New York City. (Photo by Bryan Bedder/Variety via Getty Images)

“President Trump was better off going after Urkel, tho because he is really Scraping The Bottom of The Black Barrel coming at me,” Charlamagne wrote on Instagram, then named others who Trump has recently targeted over the airwaves. “You can’t go from MLK JR, President Obama, Oprah, Beyonce, to a sleezebag name Lenard.” (Charlamagne’s real name is Lenard McKelvey.)

The back and forth made for a clash of the titans on social media, with both men’s posts drawing immediate reactions, reposts, and commentary across platforms.

Trump didn’t hold back, unloading on Charlamagne with a complete lack of decorum.

“The very wonderful and talented Lara Trump, whose show is a big ratings success, put racist sleazebag Charlamagne ‘The God’ on her show,” Trump wrote. “(Why is he allowed to use the word ‘GOD’ when describing himself? Can anyone imagine the uproar there would be if I used that nickname?)”

Trump was just getting started—after that, he fired off a barrage of insults.

“He’s a Low IQ individual, has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth, and knows nothing about me or what I have done.”

During the interview, Charlamagne suggested a deeper power struggle brewing inside the GOP—one that might ultimately topple Trump.

“I think there’s a political coup going on right now in the Republican Party that people aren’t paying attention to,” he told Lara Trump. “I think this Epstein thing is going to be a way for traditional conservatives to take their party back, I really do.”

“They know this is the issue that has gotten the base riled up. The MAGA base isn’t letting this issue go, and for the first time, they know they can probably take their party back and not piss off the MAGA base.”

Though Lara Trump attempted to steer the interview back to her father-in-law’s accomplishments, Charlamagne repeatedly challenged her claims.

“Anything that takes away Medicaid from people and puts them in a worse financial situation, I’m not for,” he told the host.

When she falsely claimed grocery prices were going down, Charlamagne simply said, “No.”

Clips of the exchange posted to Threads drew heavy engagement.

”There are 2 million people tuning into her show. He sat there and listened but did not allow her to lie,” one user commented. “People ARE NOT doing better. Groceries prices are NOT cheaper. America is WORSE than it was under Biden.”

Another added, “Grocery prices are higher than ever. I loathe these lying fascists.”

After his appearance, Charlamagne capitalized on Trump’s fury by reposting his Truth Social rant, adding commentary of his own and a clip from “The Daily Show” featuring Jessica Williams’ take on the situation. He doubled down on his earlier claims in the caption:

“Anyway Yes I Believe There Is A Political Coup happening in the Republican Party and I appreciate [Lara Trump] having me on #MyView last night to talk about that amongst many other things. Let’s Discuss……”

Trump, meanwhile, used the rest of his Truth Social post to tout his accomplishments, touching on everything from international diplomacy to his domestic policies.

“Like just ending 5 Wars, including a 31-year bloodbath between the Republic of the Congo and Rwanda… wiping out Iran’s nuclear capabilities… creating the greatest economy, where prices and Inflation have come way down… Remember, one year ago our Country was DEAD, now it’s the ‘HOTTEST’ Country anywhere in the World. MAGA!!!”

But Trump may have met his match this time. Charlamagne took the feud a step further during an appearance on The Daily Show, where he pulled up a list of dementia symptoms from the Mayo Clinic—then rolled footage of Trump over the past year showing signs of each one. By the end of the segment, after checking every box, Charlamagne concluded that Trump “needs to be put into a retirement home, immediately.”

— Republicans against Trump (@RpsAgainstTrump) August 3, 2025

This morning, Charlamagne brushed off Trump’s personal insults during the Donkey of the Day segment, mocking the idea that being called a “sleazebag” or “low IQ” even fazed him.

“I’ve been surprising myself my whole life,” he joked. Then he pivoted to a more serious message, accusing Trump of using authoritarian tactics to silence critics—pointing to last week’s firing of a federal labor statistics official who released unfavorable jobs data.

Listen, my fellow Americans, we are in a strange time right now, a time we have never seen, because authoritarian strategy is being used against anyone who speaks out against this administration,” Charlamagne declared. “

We saw what happened Friday, President Trump orders, you know, the firing of the labor statistic chief after data shows unemployment rates are higher. I don’t know if you know President Trump, but by firing this woman, you add it to the unemployment rate. But that, along with his reaction to what I said on Lara Trump, shows how authoritarians will attempt to bully people into pushing false narratives. President Trump, do you realize the best way to get the headlines you want is to simply do a good job? Is to simply do right by all Americans?”

Charlamagne also pushed back on Trump’s accusation of racism, pointing out that the topic never even came up during his appearance with Lara Trump. But he explained, if he had wanted to talk about race, there was plenty he could’ve said.

“He called me a racist. I didn’t mention race. Not one time on Lara Trump, I didn’t bring up the fact that President Trump issued an executive order directing oversight of institutions like the Smithsonian to remove or suppress narratives about systemic racism in black history. They want to reframe cultural memory, to eliminate discussions of historical racial injustice that, along with the determination of diversity and civil rights programs, are considered very racist by a lot of civil rights advocates. I didn’t even bring that up, okay?”

Charlamagne ended his remarks with a message directly to Trump—part jab, part challenge. What followed was a pointed list of priorities, he said the former president should be paying attention to.

“President Trump, don’t worry about Lenard, okay, don’t worry about Charlemagne. To God, I know something I said, hit a nerve and rattled you a little bit, but I don’t want you rattled. I want you to end wars, okay? I want you to keep the border secure. I want you to have the economy going. I want boom booming. Okay? I want all these things to be true. I am an American. I don’t care who’s in the White House. I want America to succeed. Okay, believe it or not, I’m rooting for you, but I need you focused. And right now you’re not focused, okay, we need you focused on two things, the economy and Epstein. All right. I need you to keep the promises of a great economy and the promises of transparency with the Epstein files. And I don’t want us as a people to be distracted whenever you see Trump trying to deflect from what’s important keep him focused. Ask two simple questions, what about the economy? What about the Epstein files? Go on his mentions. Have pity parties all the time, and ask him those two things.”

‘Karma is Everything’: Paula Deen’s Restaurant Closures Ignite Uproar After Resurfaced Clip Claims She Took Recipes from a Black Woman

Mon, 08/04/2025 - 14:00

Paula Deen’s empire once represented the pinnacle of Southern comfort food success, with her buttery smile and hearty hospitality making her a household name across America.

But the recent closure of two of her beloved restaurants has sparked a firestorm of reaction, with fans digging up old wounds and dark allegations that have simmered beneath the glossy veneer of down-home warmth and family traditions.

The celebrity chef who built a culinary dynasty stretching from television screens to restaurant tables now finds herself facing what many are calling karmic justice, as her diminished empire forces people to revisit a story of alleged exploitation and recipe theft from a Black woman that threatens to overshadow her legacy forever.

Paula Deen’s restaurant closures are being called “karma” for allegedly stealing recipes from Black cook Dora Charles. (Photo by Taylor Hill/FilmMagic)

On Friday, August 1, the 78-year-old chef announced that both The Lady & Sons, her flagship Savannah location, and The Chicken Box in Georgia had served their final meals on July 31.

The announcement sent shock waves through the public, especially as reports emerged that she had not shared to her staff that she was closing before shuttering the doors. The callousness of the disgraced chef’s alleged actions reignited conversations about her controversial past, particularly allegations involving the treatment of Black employees and recipe appropriation.

Many Atlanta Black Star readers connected the closures to long-standing grievances about Deen’s alleged mistreatment of Black workers.

“Karma is everything!” one person declared on Facebook, while another simply stated, “Good riddance.”

The sentiment was echoed by others who felt justice had finally been served.

“She stole a lot of recipes from Black folks so I’m glad her [a–] is out of business,” wrote another commenter, capturing the feelings of those who believed Deen’s downfall was long overdue.

At the center of these allegations stands Dora Charles, a Black chef who worked alongside Deen for over two decades at The Lady & Sons. Charles served as the main cook and recipe developer, with Deen once praising her by saying she was “in charge of that kitchen” and that no Southern dish should go out unless “it passes this woman’s tongue.”

According to Charles, Deen made her a promise that would later prove empty: “Stick with me, one day, if I get rich, you get rich.”

As Deen’s fame skyrocketed through her Food Network show “Paula’s Home Cooking,” Charles remained in the shadows, earning reportedly as little as $6 to $7 per hour while her employer built a multimillion-dollar empire.

In a 2013 New York Times interview that recently resurfaced on TikTok, Charles revealed the painful reality of their working relationship. Despite being referred to as Deen’s “soul sister” and contributing significantly to recipe development, staff training, and food quality oversight, Charles never received the promised compensation or public recognition for her contributions.

The closing of the restaurants and the resurfaced interview have ignited fresh outrage on social media.

One Facebook user didn’t hold back: “She is accused of stealing recipes and she stole recipes! Paula made a lot of those dishes a part of her restaurant menu all while promising to compensate them for those family recipes. & like the unethical person she is, Paula never gave her staff a dime for those family recipes.”

Charles is the only worker who has come forth accusing her of swiping her recipes and not making her rich, leaving her to work for crumbs compared to the wealth her food has made Deen.

The situation only improved after the Black cook filed complaints with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which eventually led to her salary being raised to approximately $71,000 annually. However, this increase came only after years of advocacy and still provided no acknowledgment of her creative contributions to Deen’s success.

The restaurant closures mark another chapter in Deen’s tumultuous journey since her 2013 scandal. That year, during a court deposition for a lawsuit filed by former restaurant manager Lisa Jackson, Deen admitted to calling staff derogatory names.

The revelation cost her the Food Network contract, endorsement deals with major brands like Smithfield Foods, and shelf space at retailers including Walmart and Target.

The Lady & Sons, which opened in 1996 after evolving from Deen’s home-based catering business, had become a pilgrimage site for Southern food enthusiasts. People reported that the restaurant earned USA Today’s “International Meal of the Year” recognition in 1999 and consistently drew crowds to downtown Savannah.

Today, Deen’s focus has shifted to her four remaining Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen locations. While she continues posting cooking videos on YouTube and made appearances on shows like “Dancing with the Stars” and “MasterChef: Legends,” the shadow of her past controversies continues to follow her.

Meanwhile, Charles has largely remained out of the public eye, though she published a cookbook titled “A Real Southern Cook” in 2015. Her story serves as a reminder of the often-overlooked contributions of Black cooks to Southern cuisine and the importance of proper recognition and compensation for culinary creativity.

As news of the restaurant closures spreads, many see it as a form of poetic justice, believing that Deen’s diminished empire reflects the consequences of allegedly failing to honor the Black people who helped build her success.

‘Let’s Not Twist Timelines’: Elon Musk’s Own AI Tool, Grok Deflates His New Claims About Slavery As He Praises White People for Their Part

Mon, 08/04/2025 - 13:00

Elon Musk tried to play history teacher on his platform X last week, but his bogus narrative on slavery backfired in spectacular fashion.

In a post dripping with misplaced confidence, the billionaire mogul claimed Monday that slavery “was standard practice throughout Earth until it was almost entirely ended principally by Anglo-American forces in the 19th and 20th centuries.” He added: “I’m not suggesting Britain was purely angelic, but, nonetheless, this is true.”

But it isn’t true, and Musk’s critics were quick to let him know, accusing him of cherry-picking facts and dressing them up in colonial nostalgia. A parade of voices called Musk’s post laughable and overly simplistic. One person even likened Musk’s statement to “burning down a house and asking for a medal because you brought a bucket of water.”

A majority of commenters called Musk out in real time for attempting to elevate Britain and America as the heroes of a story they spent centuries writing in chains and bloodshed. Both countries independently established the most brutal slavery systems the world has ever seen.

The subject itself remains a painful chapter for most Black Americans, especially when right-wing figures like Musk try to whitewash it by recasting white enslavers as the heroes of abolition. Some of the loudest voices on the thread accused Musk of deflecting blame from the systems of oppression that singularly enriched Anglo-Saxons. But Musk would have you believe they were morally enlightened figures who ended a global scourge—while downplaying centuries of resistance led by enslaved people.

Slavery was standard practice throughout Earth until it was almost entirely ended principally by Anglo-American forces in the 19th and 20th centuries. Slavery still exists in some parts of the world btw.

I’m not suggesting Britain was purely angelic, but, nonetheless, this is… https://t.co/ZQFHWrDcA4

— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 27, 2025

The acknowledgment that “Britain was not purely angelic” served only as a preemptive defense, but Musk easily glossed over the brutality and profits of empire. His mention that slavery still exists in parts of the world today shifted the focus away from the savage legacy of slavery—like systemic racism and economic disparities, and subtly suggested that the moral burden now lies elsewhere. Ultimately, critics concluded it was a political statement—red meat from Musk—masquerading as historical clarification.

“Abolishing something you profited from for centuries isn’t heroic, it’s cleanup. Let’s not twist timelines,” one user wrote.

Slavery wasn’t invented by Europeans. It existed in every corner of the globe—in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas—long before the rise of the Atlantic slave trade. Ancient civilizations like the Sumerians, Egyptians, Greeks and Romans, all relied on slavery. Islamic empires also practiced and regulated slavery for centuries, often in the context of religious conquest and trade.

But beginning in the 15th century, European colonial powers industrialized slavery, transforming it into a global system of racialized exploitation for profit. The transatlantic slave trade, launched by the Portuguese and later dominated by the British, French, Spanish, and Dutch, forcibly removed millions of Africans to the Americas, separating entire families forever. The American empire rose on the backs of human bondage—one that fed sugar plantations in the Caribbean, tobacco farms in Virginia, and cotton fields in the Deep South.

By the time Britain passed the Slavery Abolition Act in 1833, it had already built massive, generational wealth from the trade. And rather than compensating formerly enslaved people, the British government paid the slaveowners instead.

In the United States, abolition came only after a long and bloody civil war. Before that were centuries of resistance against slavery, and the tireless struggle of abolitionists and formerly enslaved people to live free. Even after slavery ended, it was replaced by a patchwork of systemic racial oppression, such as segregation and Jim Crow laws, mostly designed to keep Black people in place while promoting white power.

X’s AI tool, Grok, labeled the flaws in his logic as a “tu quoque fallacy”—a rhetorical trick that attempts to downplay Western guilt by pointing out that other societies also practiced slavery. It criticized his selective crediting of Anglo-Americans, noting the omission of revolts, Haitian independence, and anti-slavery movements in Latin America, Africa, and beyond.

Another commenter tried to praise Britain’s abolition effort, noting that the government spent £20 million to “buy freedom” for the enslaved. But others were quick to point out that this was less a noble sacrifice and more a financial bailout for slaveowners, not the people they had held in bondage.

“Weird how the woke mob never seems to want to mention this,” the man added, trying to throw Musk a lifeline from the far-right playbook.

Still, Musk was out of his depth—pushing a selective version of history shaped to fit his own biased viewpoint. In trying to sound authoritative, he exposed his blind spots and wound up getting schooled by those who actually know the history.

By casting Anglo-Americans as the primary liberators, critics said, he erased the resistance and resilience of enslaved people and overlooked the global, collective effort it took to dismantle slavery. Abolition was the result of centuries of struggle, rebellion, and moral reckoning—driven largely by the resistance of the enslaved themselves—not the outcome of a moral crusade led by a handful of enlightened white men, which is the oversimplified narrative Musk was selling.

And while legal slavery has mostly ended, its legacy—and its modern-day offshoots—remain.

Today, an estimated 50 million people worldwide are trapped in modern forms of slavery, including forced labor, sexual exploitation, debt bondage, and forced marriage—many in regions shaped by the same colonial powers Musk casually praised.

According to Anti-Slavery International, modern slavery is often hidden in plain sight, affecting people who make our clothes, serve our food, clean our homes, or pick our crops. Victims are frequently coerced through violence, threats, crushing debt, or the seizure of vital documents.

Children make up roughly a quarter of all victims. Of the 27.6 million people in forced labor, 17.3 million are exploited in private industries, 6.3 million in commercial sex work, and nearly 4 million under state-imposed conditions. Another 22 million are trapped in forced marriages—many of them as children. Migrant workers are particularly vulnerable, and the COVID-19 pandemic only deepened the conditions that allow modern slavery to thrive.

Modern slavery takes many forms, from human trafficking and child slavery — such as on cacao plantations in Ivory Coast and Ghana — to domestic servitude and descent-based slavery, where people are born into bondage. Though the systems look different today, the exploitation remains deeply embedded in global economies—making it clear that the fight against slavery is far from over.

‘Fake News’: Trump Insults Black Reporter After She Questions Him About Young Victim Being ‘Stolen’ from Mar-a-Lago While Report Reveals His Name Was Redacted from Files by FBI

Mon, 08/04/2025 - 12:13

President Donald Trump scolds yet another reporter for daring to press him about his relationship with convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

The Epstein scandal embroiling Trump just won’t go away. He can’t seem to escape it amid MAGAsphere anger over his refusal to release the Epstein files after long promising to do so. He’s been asked all week about different aspects of the sex trafficking case against Epstein and his former girlfriend, also a convicted sex offender, Ghislaine Maxwell.

U.S. President Donald Trump calls on a reporter during a meeting with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the Oval Office at the White House on July 22, 2025 in Washington, DC. Trump and Marcos are expected to discuss trade tariffs, increasing security cooperation in the face of China’s growing maritime power in the West Philippine Sea and other topics. Conspiracy theorists, reporters, opponents and even MAGA supporters want to know what Trump knew about Epstein in the years before Trump’s relationship with Epstein ended and when he knew about it.

Questions about the files and his relationship with Epstein have come up at almost every single public event Trump has attended over the past weeks.

Thursday was no different. As Trump’s Mar-a-lago connection came up again.

REPORTER: Do you know why Epstein was taking those young women, including Virginia Giuffre?

TRUMP: No, I didn't know. I figured it would be ABC fake news that would ask that question. One of the worst. But no I don't know really why. pic.twitter.com/7RO0briM18

— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) July 31, 2025

“The family of Virginia Giuffre released a statement overnight in response to some of the comments you made this week. You said that Jeffrey Epstein ‘stole’ people from Mar-a-Lago. At the time, did you know why he was taking those young women, including Virginia Giuffre?” ABC News reporter Rachel Scott asked, as Trump started to talk over her.

“No, I didn’t know. I figured it would be ABC fake news that would ask that question—one of the worst. But no, I don’t know really why, but I said, if he’s taken anybody from Mar-a-Lago, he’s hiring or whatever he’s doing, I didn’t like it. And we threw him out.”

A day earlier, Trump said Giuffre may have been one of his employees at Mar-a-Lago, his Palm Beach, Florida, resort, “stolen” by Epstein.

“I think she worked at the spa. I think so. I think that was one of the people,” the president said when asked about it. “He stole her. And by the way, she had no complaints about us, as you know, none whatsoever.”

Giuffre was one of the most high-profile accusers of Epstein, Maxwell and Britain’s Prince Andrew. She took both civil and criminal action against all three, hoping for justice and raising awareness about the huge reach Epstein, who authorities said died by suicide in jail in 2019, had at one point in abusing young girls and trafficking them out to mostly wealthy and famous men.

Giuffre, who died by suicide in April, wasn’t “stolen” by Epstein, her family said in a statement after Trump’s remarks Wednesday.

“We would like to clarify that it was convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell who targeted and preyed upon our then 16-year-old sister, Virginia, from Mar-a-Lago, where she was working in 2000, several years before Epstein and President Trump had their falling out,” according to Giuffre’s family.

Giuffre’s family went on to say it was “shocking” to hear Trump say he was aware Giuffre was “stolen.” They said it made them wonder what Trump knew about Epstein and Maxwell’s actions at the time.

“It makes us ask if he was aware of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s criminal actions, especially given his statement two years later that his good friend Jeffrey ‘likes women on the younger side . . . no doubt about it,'” the family said, referring to a quote by Trump about Epstein in a 2002 New York Magazine profile of the disgraced financier.

“We and the public are asking for answers; survivors deserve this,” the statement added.

According to Bloomberg, Trump’s name was among those redacted from the final set of FBI documents related to the billionaire child sex trafficker. The bombshell report, released on Friday, based on multiple sources familiar with the matter, says the FBI’s FOIA review team intentionally shielded the former president, then a private citizen, along with other “prominent public figures” from public scrutiny in the lead-up to the DOJ’s conclusion that Epstein’s death was a suicide and that further disclosure was unnecessary.

‘He’s Lying Low, with His New Girlfriend’: Barron Trump’s Sudden Disappearance Raises Red Flags After Critics Exposed Secrets About His Love Life

Mon, 08/04/2025 - 11:30

Barron Trump, the youngest son of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, has been missing in action lately when it comes to his “first son” duties. Barron has been notably absent from public appearances since towering over his father with his 6-foot-7 frame at the inauguration of his second term in January 2025.

President Trump would often credit his son for helping him connect with younger voters during the 2024 presidential campaign. Barron would appear with his father during press conferences, trips and public appearances. Now the youngest of the Trump clan has not been spotted next to his father in several months.

Barron’s siblings have been picking up his slack when it comes to appearing with their father. Donald Jr Trump, 47, Ivanka Trump, 43 and Eric Trump, 41 have attended several events since January, attempting to keep a strong family image during their father’s second term.

According to The Daily Mail, President Trump was joined by his sons Donald Jr and Eric, daughter-in-law Lara Trump and grandchildren Chloe and Spencer for the opening ceremony of Trump International Golf Links near Aberdeen, Scotland.

The outlet also mentioned how the president continues to bring up his youngest son although he is not present. In May, he joked with members of the press about the 19-year-old while dropping hints that he may be attending some of the FIFA World Cup matches next year.

“These events will attract millions of passionate fans around the world, including my son. I have a son that loves soccer – Barron,” he said. He continued jokingly, “Nobody’s ever heard of Barron, right? Have you ever heard of Barron? He’s a good soccer player, too. He’s a little tall for soccer, but that’s OK.”

Although Trump hasn’t been seen with his parents, he has been frequently photographed on the campus of New York University, where he attends college, and captured in and around Manhattan.

It’s been speculated that he is keeping a low profile due to social media sleuths breaking the news about a mystery girlfriend, while some assume it’s just normal teenage behavior.

“He’s 19yrs old. Things to do. People to meet. Life to lead. Stop trying to turn him into a middle-aged fogey before his time,” said one Daily Mail reader.

Another chimed in with, “He’s lying low, with his new girlfriend I think. Must be hard to get the privacy he needs.”

This person thinks it’s a “like mother, like son” situation. “You could say the same thing about Melania, who’s disappeared.”

“Would you want to be seen with a dad who cannot speak without repeating himself and telling the narrative of Donald as he sees it. The young man is intelligent and going to uni, what would you make of your dad when out of his oral diatribe! Mums the word,” expressed another reader.

While this person stated, “I’m no Trump supporter but maybe this kid just wants a normal college experience.”

Despite rumors and tabloid speculation, there is no public evidence directly linking his recent absence from official Trump family events to the exposure of his love life. The closest thing to a love story that has been leaked about the college student is a TikTok from a user named Maddie who claimed Barron was her first boyfriend.

In June 2020, Maddie dropped a TikTok featuring class pictures of her and Trump when they were about 10 years old. On the video, Maddie wrote, “For those asking…I went to school with Barron Trump, and he was my first bf. When Trump was elected, he brought the entire class to the White House. We gotta save my bae!”

‘Show Some Respect’: Nicole Kidman Under Fire for Staying Silent About Hugh Jackman’s ‘Midlife Crisis’ Relationship with Ex-Wife Deborra-Lee Furness Still in the Picture

Sun, 08/03/2025 - 23:34

Nicole Kidman is in a tight spot when it comes to her longstanding friendship with both Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness.

The “Babygirl” actress, who has been close friends with both parties, found herself at the center of their messy divorce after people speculated that Kidman wasn’t being a loyal friend to Furness and had possibly embraced what some consider Jackman’s “midlife crisis” romance with Broadway co-star Sutton Foster.

Nicole Kidman’s loyalty is in question amid reports she knew about Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster before he revealed separation from first wife, Deborrah. (Photos by Marilla Sicilia/Archivio Marilla Sicilia/Mondadori Portfolio via Getty Images; Hughjackman/Instagram; Photo by Bruce Glikas/FilmMagic)

Globe shared inside information from a close source claiming Kidman “didn’t immediately jump on board” with Jackman’s new relationship but “was very sad Hugh and Deb couldn’t work it out.”

The outlet also claimed that the source said, “Nicole recognizes that Hugh’s found someone he’s clearly madly in love with,” and her friend is “very keen” for her to get to know his new love, to which she has “agreed.”

A source close to the situation shared insight into Furness’s feelings about Kidman possibly violating the “girl code.” According to the insider, the 69-year-old actress is seeking “support” right now and has drawn a firm boundary — she doesn’t want people around who “kiss up” to her ex and his new girlfriend. The source added that Furness is “pretty upset that Nicole isn’t siding with her,” reinforcing just how strongly she feels about the situation.

Kidman’s friendship with Jackman and Furness goes back to when she met Jackman in 2008 while working on the film “Australia.”

Although Kidman hasn’t publicly picked sides, the news from the alleged source is a little different from the inside details that were dropped earlier this year when Jackman and Foster were photographed touring Malibu mansions together.

Things appear to be moving quickly for Hollywood’s newest Power Couple, Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster.

Another unnamed purported source claimed Kidman felt her fellow Aussie Jackman “doesn’t need her right now” because he has “the best team of handlers” and is “in the throes of his new romance,” New Idea reported it was told. At the time, her focus was on Furness, who had stood by her side during her highly publicized divorce from Tom Cruise and was “ready 24/7 to jump on a plane and be by her side any time.”

The source also claimed that with a “true circle of friends around her like Nicole,” Furness was sure to be able to get through the highly traumatic time.

Although she has tried to keep a low-key approach, some people on social media have criticized Kidman for not condemning Jackman or more visibly supporting Furness.

“Hugh Jackman could show some respect to his first wife and continue his new relationship in a low key manner. Nicole Kidman could do the same,” said one critic reader.

Another pointed out how this doesn’t have to be a “choose sides” situation. “I think you can be friends and supportive with who you want to be. Exes should not expect their friends to choose sides. You can still maintain a friendship with both.”

While this person pointed out the karma in the situation. “And Nicole expected sympathy after Tom Cruise. I guess you stay with the power player, hey Nic? Her career is aging out and so it goes.”

And this follower isn’t letting everyone forget, Jackman’s role in the demise of his own marriage. “Highly disappointed with Nicole! Debora does not deserve this and Jackman most definitely does not deserve any loyalty or respect,” they began. “In fact, Jackman does not deserve anything at all. Seriously done with him… never plan to watch anything of his in the future. Middle-aged has-been dealing with mid-life crisis!!! Yuck and eeeeewwwww!!” the person continued.

A fifth person said, “This is probably her way of saying that she wants to be in the next action movie or Broadway show with Jackman. The ex-wife doesn’t offer her this opportunity. Also, Nicole’s [husband Keith] Urban still wants to be friends with them and play music together.”

Furness and Jackman announced they were separating after 27 years of marriage in September 2023. The two went public with their split by providing a statement to People, saying they “decided to separate to pursue our individual growth” and claiming they would “undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness.”

After their ambivalent statement, things took a turn when it was revealed that Jackman’s romantic involvement with Foster allegedly began while he was still legally married to Furness. Rumors about their alleged affair began in 2022 during their stint in Broadway’s “The Music Man.”

Furness filed for divorce in May of this year, when she provided a solo statement to the Daily Mail detailing her feelings about her failed marriage.

“My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,” she said. “It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.”

She mentioned her beliefs were what was helping her “navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage.” She ended her statement with, “I have gained much knowledge and wisdom through this experience. Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose.”

Meanwhile, Foster and Jackman appear to be leaning more into their new romance as they reportedly spent a getaway at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts, in mid-July, according to US Weekly.

‘I Wasn’t Expecting Him to Look the Way He Does’: Tom Selleck’s ‘Retirement Look’ In New Photos Has Fans Zooming In on His Transformation Months After ‘Blue Bloods’ Ends

Sun, 08/03/2025 - 21:02

Tom Selleck‘s transformation from television heartthrob to laid-back retiree has become the talk of the internet, with recent paparazzi photos revealing a dramatically different version of the beloved actor.

The actor who once epitomized masculine charm with his perfectly groomed mustache and debonair style has undergone such a striking change that fans are struggling to recognize the 80-year-old star who dominated their screens for decades across multiple hit shows.

The photos from his July outing in Los Angeles tell the story of a man who has completely abandoned Hollywood’s expectations for a more authentic version of himself.

Selleck’s trademark mustache, which became as famous as the actor himself, has been replaced by a full, grizzled beard, as seen by photographs published by the Daily Mail.

His hair, once perfectly moussed and controlled, now appears long and a silver-gray color. The casual black ensemble he wore in the flicks — simple T-shirt, shorts, and sneakers — shows a man who recently traded his polished red carpet looks for what seems to be genuine comfort and personal freedom.

The dramatic change comes after months CBS made the controversial decision, according to The Hollywood Reporter, to cancel “Blue Bloods” in December 2024, ending Selleck’s 14-year run as Police Commissioner Frank Reagan.

A post shared by News Flip (@newsfliplive)

Since “Blue Bloods” ended, he’s retreated to his sprawling $12 million avocado ranch in Thousand Oaks, California, where he has been tending to his 1,500 trees and riding his ATV through the property’s hiking trails. Though he’s lived in the home since 1988, since he stopped working on his CBS show, he has been living a notably more private life.

Selleck’s career has been remarkable in its ability to captivate three distinct generations of television audiences across three major shows.

From his breakout role as the charming Magnum in the 1980s to his memorable recurring role as Dr. Richard Burke on “Friends” in the 1990s, and finally his authoritative portrayal of Frank Reagan on “Blue Bloods” from 2010 to 2024, he has maintained a consistent presence in American households for over four decades. Each role showcased different aspects of his appeal – the adventurous bombshell, the romantic leading man, and the wise patriarch.

However, before he was a TV star, he did commercials dating back to the late 60s.

The transformation has sparked widespread conversation online, with fans expressing everything from shock to admiration for the actor’s natural aging process. The reactions have been as varied as they are passionate, reflecting the deep connection audiences have formed with Selleck over the years.

Daily Mail readers weighed in.

“It’s always a shock when you see some actors and actresses up on age. Tom is one of them! I wasn’t expecting him to look the way he does, but it is what he is,” one fan commented, capturing the sentiment of many who were surprised but ultimately supportive of his new appearance. They continued, “He doesn’t look 80 at all though! A lot of 80 year olds can’t do what he does daily! So good for him,”

Another viewer noted, “Looks like he is following the retirement look at just letting his hair down like Dave Letterman. Whatever makes them relax and happy is the important thing, not what others say,” reflecting a growing acceptance of celebrities aging naturally.

Perhaps most telling was the blunt observation from another viewer: “Incredible how he looks nothing like when he was Magnum oh dear Tom !”

When Y! Entertainment posted the story, its readers also chimed in. Some fans have taken a more pragmatic view of the transformation.

“Magnum P.I. debuted in 1980 – 45 years ago – he was 35 then. Who looks the same at 80 as they did at 35?” one person pointed out, highlighting the unrealistic expectations often placed on aging celebrities.

Meanwhile, others have drawn comparisons to other distinguished older actors, with one fan noting, “Tom Selleck reminds me a bit of Sean Connery. I think both men aged well but then, I’m old.”

This stark assessment captures the dramatic nature of Selleck’s transformation, yet it also underscores a broader conversation about aging in Hollywood.

Pamela Anderson is another celebrity embracing aging gracefully by choosing to go bare-faced in public.

Like the 6’4” star, who was named the “Sexiest Man Alive” in 1986 and said Selleck stopped coloring his hair black in 2014, she isn’t succumbing to Hollywood’s usual pressure to maintain youthful looks with cosmetic procedures or strict grooming standards.

For Selleck, who has always been candid about aging naturally, this transformation appears to be entirely intentional. The actor has previously dismissed rumors about dyeing his hair and has expressed no interest in surgical procedures to maintain a youthful appearance. His current look suggests a man who has fully embraced this philosophy, trading Hollywood glamour for authentic self-expression in his golden years.

“I don’t have a problem with it as long as it’s not just vanity. I can’t look the way I looked twenty years ago, and I don’t want some surgeon trying to make me look like that,” Selleck told GQ in 2014.

‘Lot More to the Story’: Attorney Claims One of the Alleged Victims In Viral Downtown Cincinnati Brawl Was ‘Screaming Racial Slurs’ Right Before Melee Erupted

Sun, 08/03/2025 - 18:00

New information is coming to light about what might have set off the viral brawl in downtown Cincinnati that has drawn national headlines and sparked race-related controversy on social media.

Six people currently face charges for the incident. Four of them have been arrested.

Jermaine Matthews, 39, Montianez Merriweather, 34, Dekyra Vernon, 24, and Dominique Kittle, 37, were taken into custody a few days after the July 26 fight.

A video screenshot shows a man on the ground after being hit by numerous people. (Photos: Facebook/Signal99)

Matthews was first charged with aggravated riot and assault, but authorities have tacked on additional charges, including two felonious assault charges and one assault charge.

Merriweather and Vernon both face felonious assault, aggravated riot, and assault charges. Merriweather was jailed on a $500,000 bond, while Vernon is being held on a $200,000 bond. Kettle was charged with felonious assault and aggravated riot.

Matthews posted his $270,000 bond, but remains in jail on a hold, which means that another law enforcement agency has requested he stay behind bars, according to WLWT.

If he’s released, he’ll have to submit to a house arrest order and electronic monitoring through an ankle bracelet.

Viral clips of the fight show Matthews in a one-on-one encounter with one of the alleged victims. When that individual slaps Matthews, several other people jump in and begin beating him. A woman is also seen intervening in the fight at one point before being knocked unconscious to the ground.

The videos that have been widely shared online have been politicized by several right-wing social media accounts as a vicious assault on a white man and woman committed by a “black mob.”

During a bond hearing, Matthews’ attorney defended his client’s actions, stating that more details are surfacing that are helping piece together a complete picture of what instigated the brawl.

“I will tell you, that there’s a lot more to the story than what’s been reported thus far,” Matthews’ attorney, Brandon Fox, said, per Fox News. “We expect that additional information will come forth today. That information will likely dispel a lot of the narrative that’s already been placed out by politicians.”

Clips showing bits and pieces of the brawl have raised questions about what exactly set off the violence. Fox contended in court that the video showing the alleged male victim slapping Matthews is what tipped off the fight.

“That video that we discussed yesterday has now been released of that individual slapping on my client and then the fight ensuing thereafter,” Fox said.

But a Cincinnati police detective contested the assertion in court.

The detective told the judge, “We have video footage that totally disputes the slap being the first incident of someone putting their hands on someone.”

Fox also said that one of the alleged victims used racial slurs right before the melee ensued.

“That is the victim that is seen running down the street screaming racial slurs, the N-word,” he said, according to WLWT.

Fox also disputed one of Matthews’ charges, which is connected to a moment when the alleged male victim was knocked unconscious by someone. Fox said that the individual was not Matthews.

Matthews’ next hearing is on Aug. 8.

Videos of the brawl have drawn reactions from local and state officials, conservative pundits, and even tech billionaire Elon Musk.

Cincinnati Councilwoman Victoria Parks drew backlash after posting a comment on Facebook saying that the alleged victims “deserved that beatdown.”

She later told local news affiliate WKRC, “Nobody deserves a beating, but there is such thing as inappropriate actions, and there are consequences to actions, and that is what my post meant.”

The fight even sparked controversy in a small town just outside of Cincinnati, where a town official shared video of the brawl on his Facebook account with the caption, “Ten on one is n****r fun.”

He also posted, “Cincinnati has a problem and they always had a problem with the black citizens. Their [sic] animals and won’t change.”

Ross Township trustee David Young issued a public apology for the remark after an emergency trustee meeting was called, which several citizens attended. Still, he refused to step down, WLWT reported.

He is up for re-election in November.

‘Stedman is a Hired Companion’: Critics Accuse Oprah Winfrey of Shaming Tracee Ellis Ross’s Single Status While Pointing to Oprah’s Longtime Unmarried Relationship with Stedman Graham

Sat, 08/02/2025 - 17:00

Tracee Ellis Ross has always been unapologetically about her love life or lack thereof, but a five-year-old comment from media mogul Oprah Winfrey continues to stir up controversy.

The Emmy Award-winning star is now pushing back against labels that attempt to define her worth.

The conversation has gained renewed attention through Ross’s new Roku series “Solo Traveling With Tracee Ellis Ross,” where she addresses Winfrey’s characterization head-on while documenting her solo adventures.

“I mean, Oprah said it. She said that I’m the poster child for singledom. I don’t want to be that,” Ross said in the episodes of the series, her voice carrying both vulnerability and determination.

The original exchange occurred during a 2020 Vision Tour Visionaries interview, where Winfrey told Ross, “A lot of single ladies point to you as an example of what an unmarried woman could and should look like. I imagine that’s not a role you ever thought you’d be playing.”

At the time, Ross responded that she was “choicefully single. Happily, gloriously single.”

The statement cuts to the heart of how successful single women are often reduced to cautionary tales or clinical examples rather than celebrated for their choices.

Instead, the “Girlfriends” star declared she wants to be a shining example for people who live their life to the fullest and prioritize their own needs.

“I want to be the poster child for being an inhabitant in your own skin,” Ross added. “For living in your own skin.”

This powerful reframing shifts the conversation from what society perceives as lacking to what Ross has intentionally cultivated.

Her message resonates even deeper as she explains the richness of her chosen path.

“Yes, I am a single Black woman who does not have children, [but] not having a relationship — long, long relationships — not having children has allowed me to explore things of my own humanity,” Ross shared, offering a perspective that challenges conventional definitions of fulfillment.

When clips from the series appeared on the social media platform Threads, fans unleashed their frustration with Winfrey’s original approach.

“How Oprah talk to Diana Ross daughter like that?,” one user commented.

The criticism intensified as users pointed out perceived hypocrisy in Winfrey’s characterization, highlighting the irony of Winfrey, who has chosen not to marry longtime partner Stedman Graham.

“Oprah is projecting. She’s literally the poster child of singledom, after being with Stedman 50-11 years and still not marrying him. That makes her SINGLE!” one comment read.

— 247 Live Culture (@247LC) July 11, 2023

Another said, “I love what Traci Ellis Ross said and I can relate to her! Oprah is single herself, we all know Stedman is a hired companion.”

Another wrote, “Oprah has always been messy! Tracee is very much needed in this generation, in my opinion she’s teaching the girls to ‘decenter’ men! Love yourself, put your needs and dreams first, live for yourself! Love will come in due time, and if it doesn’t, ok, so what?”

The marriage critique continued with another user writing, “If Tracee is the ‘poster child’ what does that make Oprah? I guess Miss Winfrey is the OG of ‘singledom,” while others praised Ross’s dignified response with comments like “Classy clap back by a woman who owns her worth.”

Now 52, Ross has transformed that moment into a platform for deeper conversation about women’s autonomy. Her travel series demonstrates a woman completely comfortable with her own company, showcasing international adventures and her philosophy of not postponing life for societal milestones.

Ross’s rejection of the “singledom” label speaks to a broader cultural shift in how women view independence and success. Her exploration of her own humanity has led to what she describes as “an extraordinary experience that is filled with joy, loneliness, grief, exuberance, delight, like, literally all of it.”

The “black-ish” star’s philosophy centers on present-moment living. “So much of what traveling is about, is for me, not waiting for something in order to walk towards my life, in order to be in my life, in order to experience my life,” she explained.

Through her response to Winfrey’s characterization, Ross has created space for women to reject limiting labels and embrace their authentic selves. By transforming “poster child for singledom” into her vision of being a poster child for authentic living, Ross demonstrates the power of narrative reclamation in a culture that often seeks to diminish women’s choices.

‘My Actions Were Justified’: Ex-Ohio Cop Who Shot Black Man Holding Cellphone and Keys Within Seconds Plans to Appeal 15-Year Prison Sentence

Sat, 08/02/2025 - 17:00

A former Columbus, Ohio, police officer who fatally shot an unarmed Black man holding a cellphone has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Adam Coy, who was convicted of murder in November, was handed the mandatory sentence nearly four years after the shooting of 47-year-old Andre Hill. However, Coy says he plans to appeal.

“I feel my actions were justified. I reacted the same way I had in hundreds of training scenarios,” he said. “I drew and fired my weapon to stop a threat, protect myself and my partner.”

Adam Coy (left), was fired Monday after fatally shooting Andre Hill (right) in Columbus last week. (Photo: 10TV News/ YouTube screenshot)

Coy fired four shots at Hill in December 2020, striking him once in the chest and three times in the leg as Hill emerged from a garage holding a cellphone in one hand and keys in the other.

Body camera footage showed that Coy and fellow officer Amy Detwiler had approached the scene with guns drawn. Neither officer had activated their body cameras until after the shooting, but a lookback feature captured the moments before Coy opened fire— within 10 seconds of encountering Hill.

“I knew at that point I made a mistake,” Coy told jurors during his trial in October 2024. “I was horrified. It was the worst night of my life.”

Prosecutors argued Hill never posed a threat and had followed commands. Detwiler testified that she did not see a gun or feel threatened. A report from her internal affairs interview stated, “Officer Detwiler stated Officer Coy observed a firearm and yelled, ‘There’s a gun in his other hand, there’s a gun in his other hand!’” However, no weapon was recovered at the scene.

The officers had responded to a non-emergency call around 1:37 a.m. about someone turning a car on and off and playing loud music. Hill, who was visiting a friend’s home, complied when asked to exit the garage. Within moments, Coy fired four times.

Almost 10 minutes passed before any life-saving aid was administered. Hill died less than an hour later at the hospital.

“To watch my brother die, I mean, out there with no medical help, period, no kind of sympathy or empathy for him at all, and then to watch him get turned over and handcuffed is unbelievable,” Hill’s sister Shawna Barnett said in a 2021 interview with “CBS Mornings.”

In victim impact statements delivered at the sentencing, Hill’s family described him as a kind, well-loved man known to his grandchildren as “Big Daddy.” His ex-wife and sisters emphasized his gentle nature and the senselessness of his death, according to CBS.

Coy, a 20-year veteran of the Columbus Police Department, had a long history of citizen complaints, though most were deemed unfounded. He was fired days after the shooting, and in April 2021, indicted on charges of murder, felonious assault, and reckless homicide. He also faced two counts of dereliction of duty for failing to turn on his body camera and failing to alert his partner to what he claimed was a perceived threat.

Columbus Police Chief Thomas Quinlan recommended Coy’s firing, stating the use of force was not objectively reasonable. Safety Director Ned Pettus Jr. upheld the decision, saying Coy violated the department’s use-of-force policy, failed to render aid, and neglected to activate his camera.

“I have responded to many officer-involved shooting scenes and spoken with many officers following these critical incidents,” Quinlan wrote in a December 2020 report. “There was something very distinct about the officers’ engagement following this critical incident that is difficult to describe for this letter.”

In the aftermath of the killing, the city of Columbus passed “Andre’s Law,” requiring officers to activate body cameras during enforcement actions and to administer medical aid following any use of force. Hill’s death also contributed to the ouster of the city’s police chief amid broader scrutiny of fatal police shootings of Black residents.

The city reached a $10 million settlement with Hill’s family, the largest in Columbus’s history. The settlement included a provision to rename the Brentnell Community Center gymnasium in Hill’s honor. Hill had spent significant time at the center, and his family said the renaming carried deep emotional value.

“That was a place that he spent a lot of time and a place that is very meaningful to their family,” attorney Michael Wright said. “To have that done makes them very happy.”

City Attorney Zach Klein acknowledged the emotional toll of the incident. “We understand that because of this former officer’s actions, the Hill family will never be whole,” he said. “No amount of money will ever bring Andre Hill back to his family, but we believe this is an important and necessary step in the right direction.”

The entire settlement is to be paid immediately upon approval by the city council and court. It bars future legal action related to Hill’s death against Coy, Detwiler, or any of the other 16 named officers involved.

Attorney Ben Crump, representing the family alongside Wright and Richard W. Schulte, said Hill’s death might have been prevented if aid had been rendered promptly. An autopsy supported that view.

“We’re happy that this has occurred, but this is a first step. We want the officer to be convicted, we want him to be incarcerated,” Wright said after Coy’s indictment. “The family is happy and they’re cautiously optimistic that Officer Coy will have to pay the price and be convicted for the killing of Andre Hill.”

Hill’s shooting occurred less than three weeks after another high-profile police killing in Columbus — the death of 23-year-old Casey Goodson, who was shot by a sheriff’s deputy.

Former Franklin County Deputy Jason Meade is scheduled to be retried on murder charges in December after his first trial ended in a mistrial in February 2024. Both cases intensified public outcry and raised pressure on local officials to overhaul policing standards and accountability.

‘What a Waste of Money’: Trump Slammed for ‘Turning White House Into Mar-a-Lago’ with $200M Ballroom to Host ‘Major Functions’

Sat, 08/02/2025 - 15:00

The Trump administration has announced a massive $200 million renovation of the State Ballroom in the East Wing of the White House. The blueprint design is finished, and the architects and contractors are ready to go, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

“The White House is one of the most beautiful and historic buildings in the world, yet the White House is currently unable to host major functions honoring world leaders in other countries without having to install a large and unsightly tent approximately 100 yards away from the main building’s entrance,” Leavitt told reporters at the daily press briefing Thursday.

Leavitt called the new plan “exquisite” and said the huge 90,000-square-foot renovation to the historic building will create enough space for 650 people. She said President Donald Trump and his donors will cover the costs. The project is slated to begin in September and should be completed before Trump’s term is over.

The East Room is currently the largest event space at the White House and seats about 200 guests for dinner. NPR reports administrations for decades have erected big fancy tents outside, complete with flooring and chandeliers, when they needed more space.

Trump has long dreamed of the expansion and even called former President Barack Obama in 2010 and offered to build a ballroom for him, according to NPR. Obama officials confirmed Trump offered to build a $100 million ballroom, but that they didn’t take him seriously.

Trump’s chief of staff Susie Wiles called Trump “a builder at heart” and said that “he has an extraordinary eye for detail.”

In a statement, Wiles also said, according to The Hill, that Trump is “fully committed to working with the appropriate organizations to preserving the special history of the White House while building a beautiful ballroom that can be enjoyed by future Administrations and generations of Americans to come.”

Social media didn’t hold back in questioning the changes Trump is making at the White House, many wondering whether Trump was trying to style the iconic symbol of America after his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

“What a waste of money. He’s turning the White House into Mar-A-Lago. What’s next, a spa?” Dianne Callahan wondered on X.

You just know it’s going to look gaudy and tacky. pic.twitter.com/6fWXSsXOfk

“Count on it. With underage attendants,” Midwest Grandma responded, referring to the young teenagers who worked at Trump’s resort and whom he admitted disgraced financier and convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein had hired away from him.

“Out of interest, if he(Trump) funds it, does he have any claim on it in the future?” another X user wondered.

“That’s a great idea! Hey, @realDonaldTrump add a spa, that would be sweet! Thanks,” this X user joked.

In case you missed it, there’s a big controversy brewing after Trump accepted a free, multi-million-dollar jet from Qatar and managed to force the Pentagon to cough up $1 billion to retrofit it. And he wants it donated to his presidential library when he leaves office, essentially meaning he and his family get to keep it.

But even without adding a new ballroom, Trump has already made his mark on the White House. He’s uprooting the grass in the iconic Rose Garden and installing pavers.

He’s also made some changes in the Oval Office, including outfitting it in gold trim.

Back to the East Wing renovation. After construction starts in September, government workers will have to relocate, Leavitt said, including those in first lady Melania Trump’s office, the visitor and military offices.

‘He Sure Downgraded When He Left His Former Wife’: Lauren Sánchez’s Revealing Dresses While Out with Jeff Bezos Have Critics Begging Her to Get a Stylist

Sat, 08/02/2025 - 14:00

Lauren Sánchez Bezos is once again at the center of online conversation — not for her relationship or her professional endeavors, but for her outfit.

While continuing her vacation on the French Riviera with her billionaire husband Jeff Bezos, the 55-year-old former journalist and philanthropist was recently seen in Saint-Tropez, wearing a variety of see-through or sheer outfits that left little to the imagination — and social media had a lot to say about it.

Known for making bold style choices that do not always land well with the public, Sánchez’s wardrobe has become a lightning rod for criticism and praise alike, with her latest look proving no different.

With her looks on full display, Sánchez has been turning the French coastline into a personal runway. Her honeymoon wardrobe has included curve-hugging leather dresses, vibrant vintage Roberto Cavalli gowns, skin-baring bodysuits, or a white cotton eyelet-dotted summer dress by Dolce & Gabbana — perfect for yacht lounging or candlelit dinners along the Mediterranean, according to Vogue.

Once the publication posted some of the images on its Facebook page, people quickly weighed in.

One user wrote, “Well she’s not wearing a bra to start and one can only just see the thong so I’m sure she’s not unduly warm in that flimsy dress.”

While Sánchez went all out, Bezos kept things casual with navy pants, a blue polo shirt, and bright green leather shoes.

Their contrasting fashion sense has become part of the spectacle as they make their way through their Mediterranean honeymoon, following a star-studded, three-day June wedding celebration in Venice, Italy.

But what started as a date night quickly turned into another round of online scrutiny. Others didn’t hold back, especially when weighing in on Sánchez’s age and outfit.

“It’s 110 degrees, how are you standing all that black at your age?? She’s been dressing like that since they started dating. Look back at her wardrobe before,” one user posted.

Another added, “She needs a stylist that’s not blind.”

“Someone tell her that long dresses make her legs look even shorter! Tasteless,” one user snapped.

Another claimed, “Honestly, she is a good brand ambassador because she looks like dressed completely on Amazon.”

Sánchez is no stranger to facing public fashion critiques ever since she stepped into the spotlight with Bezos. The pair met in 2016 and went public with their relationship in 2019 as he was finalizing his divorce from his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott.

A fifth said, “He sure downgraded when he left his former wife for this.”

— Link Lauren (@itslinklauren) June 24, 2025

Unlike Scott, Sánchez is regularly called out for her wardrobe choices, from her red carpet appearances to family-oriented events, especially those that push the envelope.

Last year, Bezos’s new wife faced backlash for wearing a burgundy sheer-mesh turtleneck while promoting her children’s book “They Fly Who Flew to Space” at Godmothers bookstore in Summerland, California.

Her outfit drew sharp criticism, with many arguing it wasn’t appropriate for an event aimed at kids — although the occasion actually consisted of Sánchez giving a talk to an adult audience. It’s part of a growing pattern in which her clothing becomes the center of a bigger cultural conversation around women, age, and what’s deemed acceptable.

She has accompanied Bezos to a string of high-profile events, including a recent gathering at Mar-a-Lago, a pre-inauguration dinner, and several other exclusive affairs. Earlier this year, the couple was spotted at the National Building Museum, seated next to Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg. But what really caught people’s attention wasn’t the seating arrangement — it was someone’s gaze. Many observers noted Zuckerberg appeared fixated on Sánchez’s chest as she turned heads in a white pantsuit paired with a peek-a-boo lace bra visible beneath her blazer.

Jeff Bezos’ fiancée faces ridicule for her revealing inauguration look, leaving many to demand she acquire a stylist. (Photo: @Fox News / screenshot)

Despite the noise, the mom of three only felt the need to conform to a more classic style for her wedding.

Their $50 million Venice wedding drew some of the biggest names in Hollywood — Oprah Winfrey, the Kardashians, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Tom Brady were all in attendance. Musical guests included Ellie Goulding and Usher, giving the celebration a high-glamour soundtrack.

For the big day, Sánchez chose a more modest, custom Dolce & Gabbana mermaid gown featuring a high neck, corseted lace bodice, and a dramatic tulle veil — pulling inspiration from 1950s bridal fashion. The look was a noticeable departure from her usual revealing style, perhaps a nod to the traditional side of the occasion.

As the honeymoon continues, it’s clear Sánchez isn’t interested in public approval.

During a recent dinner at the celebrity-favorite Cherry restaurant, Sánchez made jaws drop in a sheer black animal-print dress with thin spaghetti straps and an open back. The dress hugged her figure tightly and was paired with black heels, a coordinating clutch, and a neatly placed black bow in her hair.

Whether met with applause or side-eye, her fashion remains bold and consistent. Love it or not, Lauren Sánchez is going to wear what she wants — and people will keep talking.

‘Tracey Was Her Boss’: Deion Sanders Shuts Down Interview When Karrueche Is Mentioned, But Tracey Edmonds’ Close Friend Reveals Edmonds Had Privately Asked Tran About Dating Prime and She Said ‘No’

Sat, 08/02/2025 - 00:14

Deion Sanders built his career on being untouchable, whether he was shutting down receivers as “Prime Time” or commanding attention as Colorado’s head coach. The man who once proclaimed “if you look good, you feel good, if you feel good, you play good” suddenly found himself caught off guard during what should have been a routine podcast appearance, proving that even legends have their limits when it comes to discussing matters of the heart.

The 57-year-old football icon made headlines for all the wrong reasons during his appearance on former NFL player Asante Samuel’s podcast “Say What Needs To Be Said,” where he employed some creative technical difficulties to avoid discussing his rumored relationship with actress Karrueche Tran.

Deion Sanders abruptly ended a podcast interview by faking technical difficulties when asked about his rumored relationship with actress Karrueche Tran. (Photos: @karrueche/Instagram, Christopher Polk/Variety via Getty Images)

When Samuel pressed him about the 37-year-old actress who his side had spotted during his recent health challenges, Sanders suddenly developed selective hearing issues.

“Everyone’s seen Karrueche by your side during your hospital visits. Everyone wants to know what that friendship is about,” Samuel said, cutting straight to the heart of the matter that has been buzzing across social media platforms.

Sanders’ response was nothing short of theatrical.

“Hey, hey! We got a bad connection. I can’t hear you!” he declared before launching into an impromptu performance of static noises and garbled speech, ultimately ending the call entirely.

The dramatic exit only intensified curiosity about Sanders’ connection to Tran, the Emmy-winning actress known for her roles in “Claws” and “The Bay.”

Their relationship first came to public attention when Tran appeared in deeply personal footage documenting Sanders’ battle with bladder cancer, which he revealed in late July after fighting the disease since his April diagnosis.

The emotional video series “For Your Glory,” released by Sanders’ son Deion Jr., showed Tran crying by the coach’s bedside, holding his hand as he was wheeled into surgery, and providing support durung his recovery journey.

Tran’s presence during such intimate moments sparked widespread speculation, particularly given Sanders’ split from longtime fiancée Tracey Edmonds in December 2023, ending their 12-year relationship. The timing has not gone unnoticed by fans who have been dissecting every detail of the rumored romance, including Tran’s apparent style evolution toward more mature, sophisticated looks that some believe reflect her connection to the sports legend.

The actress, who previously made headlines for her high-profile relationship with singer Chris Brown, has undergone what social media observers are calling a transformation.

A July 8 TikTok video featuring Tran sporting a shorter, curly bob hairstyle while wearing what she playfully called a “modern day mumu” has taken on new significance as fans piece together the timeline of her rumored relationship with Sanders. In the clip, filmed during what appears to be a Caribbean getaway, Tran declared herself “the most auntie person in the world” while directing her actual niece, Samira to look at a rainbow off camera.

TikTok users have had plenty to say about Sanders’ podcast performance.

“He said mind yo business!” one person wrote, capturing the sentiment of many who found humor in his evasive tactics.

Another observer noted, “Not claiming during a time like this would send me through the roof. But that’s just me,” highlighting the emotional complexity of the situation, given Sanders’ health struggles.

The speculation reached new heights with comments like “that means they r dating” and “Prime was outta der!!” as fans interpreted Sanders’ dramatic exit as confirmation rather than denial.

However, not everyone was focused on the gossip aspect, with one supporter writing, “I love this family and whoever he is dating that his business.”

Sanders has let the public in on his health challenges, including his battle with blood clots that resulted in 14 surgeries over the past five years.

His transparency about these struggles makes his sudden privacy regarding Tran all the more notable, suggesting that while his professional life and health battles remain fair game for public discussion, matters of the heart represent a boundary he’s not willing to cross.

Adding another layer to the Hollywood connections at play, Tran had professional ties to Sanders’ former fiancée, appearing in nine episodes of Edmonds’ BET series “Games People Play” in 2021.

Recently, on an episode of “Accidentally Informed” with Claudia Jordan and Erica Cobb, Jordan shared with Carlos King and Cobb that Edmonds actually asked the former Breezite about the baller-turned-coach.

Claudia Jordan shared that Tracey Edmonds asked Karrueche Tran if she was dating Deion Sanders, and she denied it. (Instagram/ @accidentallyinformed)

“I’m good friends with Tracey Edmonds, and I recall Tracy hearing rumors about Karrueche possibly dating Deion. She saw her at an event—I think it was Niecy Nash’s event—and calmly asked her about it in conversation. Karrueche laughed it off and said, ‘No,'” the former FOX Soul host said, adding that she wishes that the two women could have had a truthful conversation before the whispers about the relationship hit the internet.

Fans didn’t hold back. “Wait… what… why does it matter?,” one questioned. Another pointed out, “Mind you, Tracey was her boss.” A third added, “I only agree because Tracey asked Karrueche face to face. In that case, she should’ve been a grown woman and owned up to it.”

As the college football season approaches and Sanders continues his recovery, the public’s fascination with his relationship status shows no signs of diminishing, ensuring that Coach Prime’s next media appearance will likely face similar scrutiny about the woman who stood by his side during his most vulnerable moments.

‘That’s Not Her … No Way’: Monica Lewinsky’s Form-Fitting Dress Has Fans Zooming In And Dragging Bill Clinton Back Into the Spotlight

Fri, 08/01/2025 - 22:20

A video of former White House intern Monica Lewinsky stepping out in New York City for a Broadway premiere months ago is making the rounds on social media again.

Lewinsky, 52, showed up on the red carpet for the opening night of the “Good Night, and Good Luck” play starring George Clooney on April 3, wearing a black off-the-shoulder dress.

Originally, Page Six reporter Nicki Gostin shared the brief clip of Lewinsky to her TikTok page in April, which has resurfaced online this week. A self-described member of President Donald Trump’s MAGA fan base reposted Gostin’s video to X, where many seemed shocked by Lewinsky’s appearance.

“That’s not her. No way,” one person tweeted in response to Lewinsky’s look that evening. A second reply read, “Unrecognizable, what happened?!? I mean, she looks good, but unrecognizable.”

In addition, X users offered unproven theories about Lewinsky getting cosmetic surgery. For example, someone wrote, “Unrecognizable due to extensive facial enhancement, I’d say. People generally don’t look prettier at 52 than they did at 22.”

Not surprisingly, Lewinsky’s history with former President Bill Clinton was brought up, as their infamous 1990s extramarital affair nearly brought down his presidency.

A married Clinton was 49 years old when the most powerful person on the planet began an affair with Lewinsky, who was 22 at the time. The tawdry entanglement lasted over a year, from 1995 before coming to an end in 1997.

Another said, “She paid a massive price on a public stage for a mistake she made at a very young age in a situation with a severe imbalance of power. I hope she has managed to stay sane and find some happiness in her life.”

Lewinsky also earned praise as onlookers maintained she has aged very gracefully since dominating global headlines for being the president’s mistress nearly 30 years ago. One person declared, “Looks better than at the time.”

Bill’s wife, 2020 Democratic presidential candidate and former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, also caught strays. In an attempt to applaud Lewinsky at the expense of Clinton’s spouse, a poster suggested, “Looks better than 30 years ago. And definitely better than Hillary.”

Bill, 78, and Hillary, 77, tied the knot in October 1975. Their only child, Chelsea Clinton, was born in February 1980. The political family from Arkansas entered the White House after the center-left politician won the 1992 presidential race against incumbent Republican George H. W. Bush.

The Clinton–Lewinsky scandal led to the U.S. House of Representatives voting to impeach the then-sitting POTUS for perjury, obstruction of justice, and abuse of power in December 1998. The charges stemmed from Clinton lying under oath about having an intimate relationship with Lewinsky.

In January 1999, the U.S. Senate acquitted Clinton on all charges. He was able to complete his full second term in office despite a dark cloud hanging over his administration until George W. Bush moved into the White House in January 2001.

While the Clintons managed to remain major power players in American politics following a temporary fall from grace, Lewinsky was lambasted by Democrats, Republicans, and the press for decades.

Lewinsky later accused the Clinton team of crafting a false narrative that depicted her as an unintelligent young woman as a way to shift public perception against her and to protect the image of the cheating husband.

“I’m by no means a genius, by no means going to be the cream of the crop, but I wasn’t a bimbo. I wasn’t a dumb bimbo like I was portrayed to be,” Lewinsky proclaimed during a June 2025 interview on Elizabeth Day’s “How To Fail” podcast.

‘They’re Terrorists’: White Florida Woman Begs for Cops to Hear Her Side During Arrest for Allegedly Chasing and Attacking Black Children, Calling Them the N-Word, Video Shows

Fri, 08/01/2025 - 21:00

A resurfaced bodycam video from earlier this year shows a woman’s arrest in Florida following a racist outburst in which she chased and attacked several Black children and called them racial slurs.

The footage shows the aftermath of the incident on March 29.

When officers arrived at the scene in a Sarasota community, they immediately took the woman into custody in front of several witnesses. The woman loudly protests her detainment, telling the cop to “shut up” before pleading with the police to state her case.

A body camera video screenshot shows a woman talking to a police officer. (Photo: YouTube screenshot/Police Watch)

When she’s placed in the back of a patrol vehicle, she begins tearfully disputing her arrest and begging police to allow her to tell her side of the story.

One officer begins interviewing witnesses who tell them they saw a white woman chase a group of Black children, throw items at them, shove a couple of them, and call them the N-word. The witnesses who saw the attack say they rushed over to stop the woman before calling the police to the scene.

One young Black girl tells police that she was riding her bike when the woman grabbed her by the side of her neck and pushed her to the ground. The child’s guardians also told police the assault left the child with visible scars and bruises.

The footage cuts back and forth from officers taking down witness accounts to conversations with the woman in handcuffs.

At one point, the woman is heard telling an officer that she feels entitled to say the N-word because her children are being raised in the same neighborhood.

“So what happened today? What happened? Why are we here?” the officer asks.

“They’re terrorists,” the woman responds.

She then begins rambling about how she pays taxes and has been to jail, before making other nonsensical statements.

As police read her her Miranda rights and disclose the exact charges that will be filed against her, she begins crying and claiming she hasn’t “done anything wrong,” protests her charges, then starts swearing at and insulting the officers.

“Why am I being charged with anything involving a child?” the woman asks, visibly shocked.

“Because you pushed one child and you pushed another child against the fence,” the officer answers.

“But I have not touched a child! I have not once touched a child!” the woman yells.

During the drive to jail, she continues to belittle the officer driving her to the facility. She also admits that she’s been jailed before for drug possession and has a substance abuse issue.

In the bodycam footage, police stated that they would charge her with two counts of felony child abuse, disorderly intoxication, and resisting arrest.
