‘Drunk, Stupid’: Jeanine Pirro Shushes Reporter, Screams Into Mic at Presser, Fueling Accusations of Alcohol Relapse

Fri, 08/15/2025 - 11:55

It started with a question any public official might expect — but Jeanine Pirro reacted like she had been cornered and had to fight her way out.

The U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia jawboned a reporter asking about Capitol police officers who feel unprotected after Donald Trump pardoned the Jan. 6 rioters who injured them four years ago.

“Look, I’m not here to satisfy people’s feelings if they feel bad, I’m here to prosecute crimes,” Pirro gruffed during an Aug. 11 interview with Fox 5 DC.

That moment, clipped and posted online, quickly became a lightning rod. By nightfall, Pirro was trending across multiple platforms, accused of being “drunk,” “unhinged,” and “unprofessional” as she defended Trump’s unprecedented move to seize control of D.C.’s police force. Critics said her combative answers — delivered with visible irritation — only deepened questions about her judgment.

“This woman wouldn’t be hired at McDonald’s,” one commenter wrote on Threads. Another fumed: “Our government isn’t supposed to be a halfway house for unrepentant alcoholics, but somehow it’s become one.”

The backlash came after a tense week, with Trump continuing to distract from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal by putting boots on the ground in the nation’s capital. On Sunday, Trump ordered the National Guard into the capital and placed its police force under direct federal control — a move justified by what he called “rising violence.” However, his claims run directly counter to the city’s own crime statistics, which show steep declines since 2023.

Since the announcement, Pirro — a former Fox News host, lawyer, and author who took over as U.S. attorney in May — has been on the defensive. Whenever facing the media, she’s been irritable, pushing back, and not in the mood for any direct questions.

The social media pile-on was relentless.

“This is why you shouldn’t put drunk, stupid former Fox News hosts into government positions,” another user posted. One commenter reminded her pointedly: “5 of them are dead. 140 were injured. Some didn’t return to duty for months.” Others took aim at Pirro’s tone: “If they feel bad — how about dead? How about heart attacks? You’re just another of Trump’s cruel and unqualified minions.”

The insults kept coming: “What a skag,” “Totally unprofessional and incompetent,” and “Another disgusting appointment to the disgraceful regime.” One summed up the mood: “This administration is absolutely dripping with stupidity. Pure, uncut, raw, unadulterated idiocy.”

The trouble didn’t end with the Jan. 6 question. In another heated exchange, a reporter pressed Pirro on crime prevention.

“You just walked through the changes you’d like to see from the punitive aspects. What about preventative? Do you or the president plan to do anything to address the root causes of crime in D.C., such as truancy?”

Pirro, sounding exasperated, took a beat before replying: “My job is to try to heal the victims and prosecute the criminal. Everybody else can deal with rehabilitating the individual. I honestly am not concerned about why they commit crimes. My concern is if they commit crimes. My concern is the victims of the crimes. That’s my job as a U.S. Attorney. Go ahead.”

When another reporter began to ask about DOJ funding cuts to gun violence prevention programs, Pirro cut her off: “Oh, stop it! We are putting all kinds of resources onto the street,” she said, slapping the microphone back onto the podium.

While Trump’s justification for the takeover hinges on the idea of spiraling violence, the numbers tell a different story. Violent crime in Washington surged in 2023 to its highest homicide count since the late 1990s, but then dropped 32 percent in 2024 and another 12 percent so far in 2025. Carjackings, which nearly doubled in 2023, have been cut by more than half. Crime analyst Jeff Asher says D.C.’s violent crime rate is now as low as it’s been since the 1960s.

National data mirrors the trend. FBI figures show violent crime fell 4.5 percent in 2024, with murders down nearly 15 percent, robberies down 8.9 percent, and aggravated assaults down 3 percent. Property crimes dropped even more, including a 10-18 percent plunge in motor vehicle theft. A mid-2025 report from the Council on Criminal Justice found continued declines across 42 major cities, including double-digit drops in homicide, robbery, and carjacking.

Critics say Trump is relying on outdated 2023 figures as a political pretext to target cities with Black mayors who oppose his immigration policies. They note that while D.C.’s crime rate remains higher than the national average, its recent progress mirrors other historically high-crime cities like Philadelphia, Chicago, and Detroit.

Yet, from campaign rallies to press briefings, Trump describes a country under siege. He has hinted at extending his D.C. model to other “lawless” cities — even as the data shows crime is trending down. That disconnect, critics argue, makes Pirro’s volatile performance this week all the more revealing.

‘Rude! Rude!’: Subway Worker Confronts Furious Tiffany Haddish After Actress Reportedly Stormed Out Over Her Deli Meat, Then Exposes Her Online

Thu, 08/14/2025 - 22:00

Tiffany Haddish, 45, had an unpleasant run-in when she stopped to grab a sandwich in Canton, Mississippi.

A Facebook user who goes by the screen name, Jayye Lovee, posted a video of Haddish in her home state. Lovee called out the “Girls Trip” actress for allegedly having a bad attitude while trying to purchase food from a Subway restaurant.

According to the woman, “She got mad and left” because the establishment had no pastrami meat.

Lovee offered more information about the encounter in the caption for her Facebook Reel. She wrote, “Tiffany Haddish and the other lady from the movie ‘Taken’ who was kidnapped were very rude today.”

“There she is! Rude b—h! Rude Rude!” the woman filming the video could be heard screaming at Haddish as she crossed the street with a handler carrying an umbrella over her head. Haddish then began yelling back, “I didn’t hear you” while having headphones in her ears.

The Canton native continued, “All we did was compliment them and try to speak, but I guess she was upset that Subway doesn’t sell pastrami anymore. Girl, we haven’t sold that meat in eight years—get out of here with that Tubi movie!”

Haddish got word of Lovee blasting her on the social media platform and addressed what the Subway employee had to say in the comment section. The Primetime Emmy Award winner fired back, “They look like they could use it with that hole in the ceiling.”

As video of the real-life conflict and screenshots of the online argument spread across the internet, commenters weighed in on the dispute between the Hollywood celebrity and the nine-to-fiver.

“Why Tiffany going into those folks’ business acting like that!” one follower of The Neighborhood Talk page on Instagram commented. A fan responded, “So she should stay even [though] they don’t have what she felt like eating!??”

“She went to order a sub, they didn’t have what she wanted. The camera lady was looking for a moment. End of story,” read an Instagram reply in defense of Haddish. In contrast, someone asked, “Are y’all slow in the comments? Tiffany was rude to her, so she reacted.”

Some people mentioned that Lovee could be the one to face real consequences. For instance, one person predicted, “They [are] about to get fired.” Another individual stated, “I hope you keep your job at Subway after doing this. Chick-fil-A would never.”

“She don’t even sound like she [is] telling the truth,” expressed one person who doubted Lovee’s story. However, a Haddish hater added, “We the people are really starting to get sick of Tiffany. She needs to do better.”

According to Deadline, Haddish is in Canton for the filming of “The Girl in the River.” The production for that upcoming motion picture hit the Magnolia State after she took part in shooting “The Deputy” in Natchez, Mississippi, earlier this year.

The cast for filmmaker Brando Benetton’s “The Girl in the River” also features Devon Sawa (“Final Destination”) and Ralph Macchio (“The Karate Kid”). Maggie Grace, the actress who played Kim Mills in the 2008 “Taken” movie, signed on for the crime thriller as well.

“We are grateful to the production of ‘The Girl in the River’ for choosing Canton, Mississippi, as a filming location,” Canton Tourism official Jo Ann Gordon told the WJTV television station.

Gordon also said, “Thank you to the incredible crew and talented cast for bringing your skills, creativity, and energy to our town. Film productions like this not only showcase Canton’s charm but also bring significant economic impact, supporting our local businesses and community.”

Haddish broke out as a movie star with her performance in the 2017 comedy “Girls Trip,’ which co-starred Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Queen Latifah. The South Central Los Angeles native won an Emmy Award in 2018 for hosting the “Saturday Night Live” late-night sketch comedy television show.

‘Put It Away’: Taylor Swift Shows All In New Photos But Fans Can’t Stop Talking About What She Did to Her Chest

Thu, 08/14/2025 - 21:34

Taylor Swift is preparing for her big return with a new album and a completely new persona separate from her “Marry Me” days.

The pop-country singer surprised fans with the news on Wednesday, Aug. 13, during her debut appearance on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.

Not only did she announce the arrival of her 12th studio album, Swift also released risqué images for the album, which is called “The Life Of A Showgirl.”

Each photo, including the album cover, has an unexpected yet alluring, theatrical and bold vibe, a stark contrast to Swift’s previous covers, which featured more demure looks. The switch suggests that she is stepping into a new era.

On the cover, Swift is seen looking into the camera while submerged in water wearing a crystal-studded outfit. It’s not clear whether the outfit is a dress, a bodysuit or a top because of where the picture is cropped, but the abdomen region had cut-outs that made her skin visible. She wore a rosy pink blush on her cheeks and magenta colored lipstick.

On Kelce’s podcast, Swift explained the meaning behind the cover by pointing to her recently completed tour called The Eras Tour.

“This represents the end of my night,” she said. “My day ends with me in a bathtub, not usually in a bedazzled dress, but we try to keep it decent. I wanted to glamorize all the different aspects of how that tour felt and that’s how that felt.”

“The reason why I wanted to have an offstage moment as the main album cover is because this album isn’t really about what happened to me onstage, it’s about what I was going through offstage,” she continued.

Swift continued her showgirl theme in other images, including one of her in a black bodysuit with fishnet tights as she propped her leg up over an audience chair. Her hair was pulled back in the bun and she wore her signature red lipstick.

In another set of photos, she ditched her signature blond hair for a black bob wig, which she paired with a pink feathered ensemble and sat in a boudoir setting drinking wine.

Another pic shows Swift leaning seductively on two chairs in a dark red bodysuit and fishnets with her head tilted back.

Her final look featured another jeweled bustier attached to a sheer bra. Underneath, she wore flesh-colored bikini bottoms with sheer fishnets and body jewelry that had jewels and feathers on it.

Though Swift is showing a more sultry side of herself with this album, many took offense to her new look.

Daily Mail readers responded with their usual troll-filled comments. One person wrote, “I have to say she is pretty but she has never been sexy no matter what she does or wears.”

A few zoomed in to get a closer look at Swift’s attributes. Two said, “She is not that thick” and “Please tell me that big butt is AI because it is too early in the morning to have that sticking in our face.”

Some even wondered if she had plastic surgery recently. “A couple decades into her career, she buys herself boobs and now this is how she is selling her latest albums,” noted one skeptic, while another asked, “But enough about Matty and Travis, did she really get ‘top work’?

A fifth bluntly stated, “Put it away love, you’re no Pamela Anderson!”

Kelce, who has been dating Swift since 2023, let his lady do most of the talking about her project, while he sat grinning and holding the album up. He didn’t mention the photos but instead praised Swift’s upcoming release.

“It’s so much fun,” he said on his podcast. “I’ve been fortunate enough to hear every single song on here so I know they’re all 12 bangers. It’s a lot more upbeat and it’s a lot more like fun pop like excitement.”

He promised listeners that Swift’s “album is going to make you dance.”

‘They Sprayed Him for Recording’: Police Report Leaves Questions About Viral Video of D.C. Cops Tackling Black Man That Fueled Uproar Over Trump’s Crime Crackdown

Thu, 08/14/2025 - 18:20

A viral video shows multiple police officers in Washington, D.C., brutally tackling a Black man and pepper-spraying him after he was seen recording them patrolling the streets of the city.

The video was initially posted on Instagram just days before President Donald Trump ordered a federal operation in the nation’s capital to reduce violent crime.

The roughly one-minute clip shows a man walking behind officers on a sidewalk and recording them, when one cop suddenly whips around and pepper-sprays him in his eyes.

The man turns away, but several officers pursue him and tackle him to the ground. Another cop is seen respraying him with more mace even after an onlooker repeatedly yells, “Don’t spray him!”

Multiple cops were filmed wrestling the man to the ground. At one point, five officers are seen restraining him on the sidewalk.

Federal Agent Targets Black Man on His Own Porch Over Cigarette That ‘Smelled Like the Odor of Marijuana’ in First Hours of Trump’s D.C. Takeover

According to a police report exclusively obtained by Atlanta Black Star, the incident took place on July 2 as Metropolitan Police officers were “conducting a routine patrol on the unit block of M street” because of a large crowd of people hanging out in the area. The officer who filed the report said they spotted a person with a clear bag of marijuana that appeared to be over the legal limit, which led to the arrest of one man.

However, the report states that while the officers were investigating and trying to contain the crowd, another man told one of the cops: ‘I’ll slap the sh– out of you.”

That’s when police say the suspect tried to punch one of the officers and resisted arrest by “tensing and brac[ing] his arms with the attempt to not be handcuffed.”

The report goes on to detail a third arrest that is almost identical to the first, even quoting the suspect as saying “something along the lines of ‘I’ll slap the sh– out of you.”

The document does not detail any of what is seen in the short video, and a spokesperson for the department told the Atlanta Black Star that she could not confirm which of the three suspects arrested that day was the man in the video.

The clip has been widely reshared online, sparking outrage and demands for answers into what necessitated the use of force and such a heavy police response. Some viewers alleged that the officer sprayed the man for merely recording him.

“He sprayed him for recording. DONT STOP RECORDING,” one viewer wrote.

“Heartbreaking how many police officers does it take to take down one person?” another person added.

“Im all for cleaning up our cities within the law and without violating constitutional rights. This officer just did by pepper spraying someone for filming,” one X user commented.

In the days since the video was shared and Trump’s takeover of D.C. was initiated, some of his supporters are using the clip as a basis for why the nation’s capital needs federal intervention to decrease crime.

“Cleaning up DC so maybe it will be civilized for once,” one X user wrote in a caption after posting the video.

“It’s literally a jungle full of animals,” one person wrote in response.

Others called for more details on the circumstances leading up to the arrest and what prompted the use of force.

“I’m wondering where this was and what the prelude to this encounter was. Was this guy just up in the face of the police and nothing else? Why was he recording- was something else happening?” one Reddit user asked. “From this clip, it looks like the cop just randomly decided to attack this guy for no reason at all. That could be the case, for sure, but I think we’re missing some context here.”

‘An Attempt to Justify’: Republican State Attorney Says Florida Cop Who Punched Black College Student As He Sat In Car Did So for ‘Legitimate Tactical Purpose’ As She Clears Him

Thu, 08/14/2025 - 17:22

The attorneys for a Black college student who was pulled over and punched by deputies in Jacksonville, Florida, are urging the Department of Justice to investigate the traffic stop after the state attorney’s office cleared the officers of any criminal wrongdoing.

The Florida State Attorney’s Office released an investigative memo detailing their decision not to prosecute any of the deputies involved in the viral traffic stop of 22-year-old William McNeil Jr. on Feb. 19.

Cellphone video from McNeil’s car that was widely spread online and sparked nationwide outrage showed Jacksonville sheriff’s deputies breaking McNeil’s driver’s side window, punching him in the face, then dragging him out of the car while his hands were up.

McNeil was neither combative nor resistant, even when the officers began using physical force. At one point in the video, an officer is heard yelling, “Get on the ground,” and “stop fighting,” even though McNeil wasn’t resisting.

A deputy can also be seen grabbing his head and punching him in the chin before forcing him to the ground.

After footage of the stop went viral, Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters announced that the State Attorney’s Office reviewed the matter and “determined that none of the involved officers violated criminal law.”

In their investigative memo, state prosecutors said the viral footage was “incomplete in scope” and that bodycam footage shows the circumstances leading up to the encounter in much more detail.

The memo recounts what led up to the traffic stop and specifies why the deputies’ use of force was justified.

State prosecutors said that Officer D. Bowers saw McNeil’s car at a home that was “actively being monitored for drug activity.” Bowers saw the car pull off and observed McNeil not wearing a seatbelt and not activating his headlights.

When he pulled McNeil over, McNeil opened his car door and told Bowers that his driver’s side window wasn’t working. After Bowers told McNeil why he pulled him over, McNeil questioned the basis of the stop. In footage of the stop, McNeil noted that it wasn’t raining and other cars did not have their headlights on.

He then asked Bowers to call a supervisor to the scene and remained in his vehicle.

Bowers called backup to the scene and kept demanding that McNeil get out of his car. McNeil repeatedly refused and continued to ask for a supervisor, according to the memo.

“Officer Bowers said he believed he was at a tactical disadvantage because McNeil had “essentially barricaded himself in his car,” the memo states.

In his interview with JSO’s Integrity Unit about the stop, Bowers noted that he couldn’t maintain sight of McNeil’s hands after McNeil locked himself inside the vehicle. Bowers said he saw McNeil reach for his center console and didn’t know whether McNeil was reaching for a weapon.

He told investigators that after he broke the window, he delivered a “distractionary” blow that wasn’t used to harm McNeil, but to take control of him since he knew he would have to unlock his driver’s side door from the inside and remove him.

He said he considered the distraction strike to be a “tool” he learned in police training, and not a “use of force.”

State prosecutors characterized the initial hit to McNeil’s face as “a one-time, open-handed strike” that “had a legitimate tactical purpose — to get McNeil out of the SUV and to show his hands, which McNeil did after the strike.”

When officers pulled McNeil from the car and forced him to the ground, Bowers delivered a closed-fist punch to McNeil that state attorneys said “was in response to McNeil’s physical resistance to the arrest.”

State attorneys said they’ve “reviewed this matter to determine whether any of Officer Bowers’ actions constitute a crime. We conclude they do not.”

“Officer Bowers conducted a lawful traffic stop and gave McNeil 12 individual lawful commands, which McNeil refused to obey. Repeatedly requesting a supervisor and arguing the merits of the traffic stop did not absolve McNeil from following lawful orders,” the memo continues. “McNeil’s refusal to provide his identification, registration, and proof of insurance, followed by his refusal to exit the SUV, show his hands, and obey the officers’ orders, created a dangerous situation for all involved.”

One noteworthy point the state attorney’s office does not fully address in its memo is what deputies initially reported when they found a large, serrated knife on McNeil’s car floorboard.

The police report stated that McNeil was “reaching for the floorboard of the vehicle where a large knife was sitting” as multiple officers tried to pull him out. It also says he “refused to place his hands behind his back,” prompting officers to use “physical force.”

The state attorney’s office confirmed a knife was discovered in McNeil’s car, but failed to acknowledge the part of the police report alleging McNeil reached for the weapon. Neither bodycam footage nor cellphone video shows McNeil reach for anything when he’s physically removed from the car.

The memo says that deputies also found marijuana in McNeil’s pocket and drug paraphernalia in the center console.

McNeil’s attorneys, Ben Crump and Harry Daniels, released a statement, calling the memo “little more than an attempt to justify the actions of Officer Bowers and his fellow officers after the fact.”

They added that since the memo ignores the “excessive force and false reporting” that took place during and after the traffic stop, they will request the Justice Department to conduct an independent investigation:

The Investigative Memo from the State Attorney’s Office from the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida is little more than an attempt to justify the actions of Officer Bowers and his fellow officers after the fact. Frankly, we expected nothing less especially after Sheriff Waters announced their conclusions more than three weeks before the report was issued. Since they are unwilling to seek justice, we will have to request that the U.S. Department of Justice investigate this incident and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Let’s be clear, the State Attorney’s Office never interviewed William McNeil. They did, however, try to excuse the fact that Officer Bowers failed to disclose his unlawful “distractionary strike.” They also tried to decriminalize Officer Bowers punching Mr. McNeil outside the vehicle  and completely failed to mention the officers slamming Mr. McNeil’s face into the asphalt while he was under control and in custody. Furthermore, they ignored the multiple injuries including a broken tooth, a concussion and multiple stitches caused by the officers’ use of force.

Finally, the memo asks us to ignore our own eyes by accepting the officers’ excuse that Mr. McNeil was reaching for a knife in the floorboard when he is never seen reaching for anything in either the bodycamera video or the video posted on social media.

The simple fact is that this memo ignores exactly the kind of excessive force and false reporting that resulted in the United States Department of Justice indicting Camden County Sheriff’s Deputy Buck Aldridge. It only further illustrates why use of force cases involving the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office need to be conducted by an independent agency that is not beholden to either the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office or the State’s Attorney.

‘She Got Some Pretty Legs’: Steve Harvey’s Photo of Wife Marjorie Sets the Internet Ablaze as Fans Zoom In on Her Lower Half

Thu, 08/14/2025 - 17:06

Steve Harvey’s wife Marjorie Harvey is no rookie to receiving snarky remarks from fans — even in the midst of their shared tender moments.

That’s what took place on Wednesday, Aug. 13, when the “Family Feud” host uploaded a sweet photo celebrating his love with Marjorie. The post was simple, with only one photo and a short caption, but it was enough for some fans to still find something negative to reply about Marjorie’s look.

Marjorie Harvey takes heat over his pantless look in a new photo with Steve Harvey. (Photo: @marjorie_harvey/Instagram)

In the photo, she can be seen lying across a black piano, smiling with a flirty expression on her face, while looking at Steve. Lying on her left side, Marjorie propped her upper half up with her left arm.

Steve was captured with his back to the camera as he sat playing the piano. Though his face was hidden, his head was angled in a way that looked like he was looking up at his wife.

The other cute touch to the photo was that the two lovebirds were matching. Marjorie wore a black and white patterned shirt that had a collar, plus black short shorts.

He wrote, “When Love Hits All the Right Notes,” in the caption.

‘What Did You Say?’: Watch Steve Harvey’s Priceless Reaction to His Wife Marjorie Admitting She’d ‘Trade’ Him In for the Pool Boy

The Harveys got the usual support for their relationship in the comments, but not everyone was so cheerful. Some people posted disparaging reactions and some directly targeted Marjorie.

One person, who had a problem with her showing too much legs, said, “Tell your wife cover up that is for you to look at love you Hallaluurrrrr.”

Another wrote, “Encourage her to cover up sufficiently like a matured person.”

Those who didn’t have a problem said, “No disrespect Uncle Steve. She got some pretty legs great picture.”

Someone addressing the couple wrote, “They are too extra.”

Another typed, “I’ve never seen a couple have to prove their love so much to the public, okay okay we know y’all love each other. No need for a stage to love fest.”

What many didn’t notice was Steve, wearing a black shirt and pants that were made of the same black and white pattern as Marjorie’s top.

Steve and Marjorie began dating in 2005 after reconnecting more than a decade after they met and tied the knot two years later. They do not share any children together but have a blended family of seven kids – four of which are Steve’s and the other three are Marjorie’s.

But their current picture perfect union didn’t come without its trials and tribulations. “The Original Kings of Comedy” star was married twice before to Marcia Harvey and Mary Shackelford. Both women claimed the comedian committed adultery and it’s rumored that Marjorie was the mistress.

Marjorie was also married twice, to Jim Townsend and Darnell Woods. Those marriages ended when the men served time in prison for their drug crimes.

When Steve and Marjorie finally got together, their kids tried to intervene in their marriage and wanted them to wait before going down the aisle. But Steve wasn’t having it and the two pressed on with their wedding.

Then in 2023, a rumor came out of nowhere that Marjorie had not only cheated on Steve with a personal bodyguard and a chef, but that she was also seeking $400 million in a divorce settlement. The hearsay was gently debunked by them both but the two pulled back on posting each other as much as they did before.

So, with those rumors, Marjorie takes a lot of heat from commenters about her being a cheater.

But the two appear to still be happy and in love. They celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary in June by taking a trip to Paris.

‘Gonna Wear Your A– Out’: White Couple Berates Black Mother, Threatens Her with Umbrella After Allegedly Being Told to Quiet Down In Florida Movie Theater, But She Doesn’t Back Down

Thu, 08/14/2025 - 13:00

Skky Nicole had planned a fun outing to the movies for her daughter and friends, having splurged on tickets and snacks for a 4XD experience at a Regal Theater in Orlando, Florida.

But instead, she was left frustrated and shocked when an older white couple allegedly told the kids to “go to hell,” and later threatened Skky with an umbrella in the lobby.

In a surprising twist, Skky claimed it was not the four kids who were being disruptive during the movie, but the older woman, who was “shouting and being all loud and belligerent for no apparent reason.”

“At the end of the day, you need to be courteous. You are not at your damn house,” the frustrated mom said in a video that is garnering attention online.

Skky alerted an employee who asked the boisterous woman to pipe down, but the antics escalated, and she began “calling me all kinds of names,” while she and the kids still sat in their seats, said Skky.

When the mom went to the lobby to ask for a refund, the woman saw her opening to retaliate and allegedly told the children to “go to hell and a whole bunch of other stuff,” including aiming flashlights in their faces.

“God be working in mysterious ways, because I’m glad I wasn’t in the theater when she did all that ’cause that sh*t would have went a whole ‘nother way. Honestly, I handled myself very well,” Skky recounted.

In the video, the couple can be seen (and heard) as they are escorted out of the building, with the woman’s loud wailing causing a scene. She suddenly noticed Skky recording, and hit her male companion in the shoulder, apparently nudging him to do something. The man was gripping a straight umbrella.

“I heard her coming down the hallway, so I instantly pulled out my phone just in case some sh*t go left. And it was almost about to. ’Cause, sir, what are you going to do with that umbrella? Going right up yonder, that’s what he’s about to do,” said Skky.

The man made a move toward the mom, but as many commenters noted, he was “stopped dead in his tracks.”

“If you hit me with that umbrella, I’m gonna wear your a– out. I’m gonna wear his a– out. Y’all better get him. He’s gonna meet his maker!” she warned, as other moviegoers watched in anticipation.

“This wasn’t a funny situation at all, but those girls standing there eating popcorn like ‘damn this is better than a movie,’” wrote one commenter on TikTok.

In the end, Regal refunded Skky, however, she said in the comments section of her video that she and the children were also kicked out of the theater.

“If the shoe was on the other foot and that was me, acting the way that they were acting, I would have been walking out of that b**ch in handcuffs, OK? Ya’ll catch my drift? Handcuffs. But of course, they always get the best of the best, need I say more?”

‘She Is on Something!!’: Pam Bondi’s Glazed, ‘Heavily Medicated’ Look Overshadows Trump’s Press Conference

The director of the FBI, Kash Patel, has sparked an internet uproar, including viral memes, wild speculation, and conspiracy theories, after appearing with a wide-eyed, terrified look during a press conference with President Donald Trump on Monday.

Patel was at Trump’s side as the president announced he was sending the National Guard into Washington, D.C. and seizing control of the city’s police department in a crackdown over violent crime.

Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi stands on stage in an empty Mellon Auditorium while addressing the Republican National Convention on August 25, 2020 in Washington, DC. The novel coronavirus pandemic has forced the Republican Party to move away from an in-person convention to a televised format, similar to the Democratic Party’s convention a week earlier. Social media erupted after Patel’s appearance with one overriding concern: “What’s wrong with Patel?”

“What the heck is wrong with Kash Patel?” Brian Krassenstein wondered.

“Kash Patel looks like someone who has just woke up from a nightmare and realized it wasn’t a dream after all,” an X user commented.

“Why does Kash Patel look like a terrified wax figure?” another wondered.

“Kash Patel seems nervous. Why? Could it be because he’s covering for pedophiles?” Ginny Robinson taunted, referring to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal surrounding Trump and his cronies.

An Instagram post showing Patel looking nervous and agitated garnered more than 138,800 likes with comments speculating on whether he’s using drugs, ranging from “Would be hilarious if a dr*g sniffing dog just happened by his office” to “They having a good time at the White House.”

Patel wasn’t the only one looking strange at the Trump press conference. Attorney General Pam Bondi also seemed off-kilter. More than 4,000 users commented on Bondi’s demeanor on the social media platform Threads.

“She is on something!” a Threads user observed.

“As a Nurse with decades of experience, she is heavily medicated. Benzodiazepines? Maybe dipping into some fentanyl?” another wondered.

“You sold your soul to the devil, babe. There’s no getting it back. You have to live with the consequences of your lust for power. There’s always a price to pay,” still another said.

Another user posted a short video clip of Bondi, Patel and Jeanine Pirro with this caption: “When you know every word your boss says is a lie but the cameras are rolling and rent is due.”

Patel and Bondi’s weird demeanor was on full display as Trump detailed his plans to take control of law enforcement in Washington.

“We’re taking our capital back,” Trump said Monday as he announced the takeover. “We’re taking it back.”

“I’m announcing a historic action to rescue our nation’s capital from crime, bloodshed, bedlam and squalor and worse,” Trump said Monday. “This is Liberation Day in DC, and we’re going to take our capital back.”

But the explanation flies in the face of the fact that crime actually is down in the city, according to the latest statistics.

Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser called the move “unsettling and unprecedented,” according to USA Today. But she has pledged to work with Trump in an uneasy truce of sorts.

Some 800 National Guard members began arriving in what Trump has called a lawless city on Tuesday morning.

Trump is within his legal rights to temporarily take over law enforcement in Washington. But he cited a crime emergency, according to The Associated Press, while referring to the same crime that city officials say is already noticeably dropping.

‘The Crane Operator Is My Hero’: Donald Trump’s Photo Op with Blue-Collar Workers Backfires as Fans Zoom In on Man In the Background

Thu, 08/14/2025 - 11:30

Donald Trump‘s meticulously planned White House ceremony was supposed to showcase American craftsmanship and presidential leadership, but the internet had other ideas.

When footage resurfaced from the June 18 flagpole installation event, viewers weren’t talking about Trump’s towering new monuments to patriotism, they were celebrating an unsung hero who had inadvertently stolen the show while catching a quick nap in his crane cabin just yards behind the oblivious president.

The scene unfolded on the White House’s North and South lawns as Trump oversaw the installation of two 100-foot flagpoles, which he proudly described as having “the most magnificent poles made” on his Truth Social platform, according to The Telegraph.

‘Trashy’: Donald Trump Blames Women’s ‘High Heel’ Shoes for Rose Garden Redo, Critics Say Makeover Is Just a Golden Shrine to Himself

Dressed in a blue suit and a white MAGA hat, the president posed for photos with construction workers wearing bright yellow T-shirts, shaking hands and praising their craftsmanship while cameras rolled.

“These are the best poles anywhere in the country or in the world,” Trump declared to assembled reporters, clearly relishing the moment to showcase what he called “a very exciting project.”

However, not far behind the Trumpian fanfare, a crane operator wearing sunglasses and a cap had settled into his vehicle for what appeared to be an on-the-job nap. The worker seemed to briefly stir, notice the commotion below with the president, then promptly return to his slumber, completely unaware that his moment of rest was being captured on video for the world to see.

When the footage made its way to social media, particularly after the Demsmight social media account posted a clip on Instagram, the internet’s response was swift and overwhelmingly supportive of the drowsy worker.

“The crane operator is my hero,” one person wrote, perfectly capturing the sentiment that would echo across platforms.

Another user added with obvious admiration, “Not all heroes wear capes some operate heavy machinery whilst asleep.”

The sleeping crane operator quickly became a symbol of the everyday American worker, with many viewers finding his apparent indifference to political pageantry both relatable and refreshing.

One commenter injected their own political perspective, writing, “Smart guy, not interested who is Trump, looking for rest.”

Not everyone was convinced the operator was actually sleeping, however. Some social media users offered alternative explanations for what they observed.

“Would love if he’s sleeping but i do believe he’s watching a monitor,” one person suggested, while another agreed, stating, “He’s definitely not sleeping and looking up at his load.”

The flagpole ceremony was part of Trump’s broader renovation plans for the White House, which he has been eager to implement during his second term.

Speaking candidly about his motivation, Trump revealed a telling perspective on his approach to presidential projects.

“I’ve had it for a long time. In the first term I had it, but, you know, you guys were after me. I said I had to focus. I was the hunted. And now I’m the hunter. There’s a big difference,” he explained to reporters.

During the ceremony, Trump also sought validation from the workers on various political topics, asking them to agree that the Russia-Ukraine conflict “would’ve never happened” if he had been president, describing the war as “stupid” while the hard-hatted workers nodded behind him.

The flagpole installation represents just one element of Trump’s ambitious White House renovation plans, which include the controversial transformation of the historic Rose Garden from grass to concrete pavers.

The 47th president is even leaving his mark with a planned $200 million ballroom addition to the East Wing.

These changes, Trump believes, will make the presidential residence more functional for large events, though they have drawn criticism from historians and preservationists.

In the end, what was intended as a display of presidential authority and American labor became something far more relatable — a moment where an ordinary worker’s nap seemed to be a metaphor for how exhausting the administration’s constant changes can be.

‘Don’t Be Smoking Outside’: Federal Agent Targets Black Man on His Own Porch Over Cigarette That ‘Smelled Like the Odor of Marijuana’ in First Hours of Trump’s D.C. Takeover

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 20:51

A viral video showed part of what day one of President Donald Trump‘s federal takeover in Washington, D.C., looked like after a federal agent was seen trying to determine whether a man was smoking marijuana outside when he was merely smoking a cigarette.

Hundreds of National Guard troops and personnel from a variety of federal law enforcement agencies have taken to the streets of the nation’s capital to curb what the president alleges is a rampant and unchecked increase in violent crime.

New footage that has been widely reshared on social media shows several agents walking the streets of the city when they come across a group of Black residents.

A video screenshot shows an officer approaching a man’s porch in Washington D.C. (Photos: X/Phillip Lewis)

One of the agents, whose insignia appears to mark him as a US Park Police officer, politely greets the group, then stops, points at one person, and asks if he has his ID while looking questionably at the cigarette the man is smoking.

The man informs the agent that he resides at the home they’re visiting, and then confirms that he’s only smoking a cigarette.

The agent nods and turns away, looking as if he’s about to walk off, but then he looks at the rest of the group and begins pointing his flashlight at them.

Black Mayors Rip Trump for Targeting Them in Violent Crime Crackdown Tirade — and He Got It All Wrong

After the resident questions the reason for the agents’ presence in the neighborhood, the lead agent says that they’re “doing checks, keeping everybody safe down here,” and explains that D.C. is under federal control.

He says that while the main objective is to mitigate violent crime, the agents are surveying the city for several “quality of life issues,” like smoking and drinking in public, adding that they’re also advising residents about the law.

When the resident asks why the agent started questioning him, the officer told him that “it smelled like the odor of marijuana,” and that he saw something lit in his hand. He then goes on to inform the group about the current police state in D.C.

“Tell your boys, everybody’s out from the FBI to the police,” the agent says. “So, do your thing, let them know. Don’t be smoking outside, don’t be drinking outside.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that roughly 850 officers and agents were dispatched across the city on Aug. 11, and made 23 arrests for a range of crimes, including homicide, firearms offenses, stalking, DUI, and fare evasion.

“This is only the beginning. Over the course of the next month, the Trump administration will relentlessly pursue and arrest every violent criminal in the District who breaks the law, undermines public safety, and endangers law-abiding Americans,” Leavitt said at a press conference.

A Department of Defense official told NBC News that the National Guard is charged with security, crowd management, perimeter control, and communications support for the city’s law enforcement.

Guard members will not be arresting, searching, or performing “direct law enforcement” and, in most cases, won’t be carrying firearms, according to the official.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser called Trump’s directive “unsettling and unprecedented,” and believes that the White House is using the nation’s capital as a testing ground to determine whether this initiative can be deployed in other cities.

“He wants to send the message to cities that if he can get away with this in Los Angeles, if he can get away with this in D.C. — he can get away with it in New York, or Baltimore, or Chicago, or any other place where millions of people live, work and are doing everything the right way,” Bowser said on “The Breakfast Club.”

She also denounced Trump’s insinuation that D.C. has become a lawless city where violence has consumed the streets.

“We’re not some hellscape. We’re a beautiful city,” Bowser told WRC-TV.

Federal and state data revealed that violent offenses in the city have seen double-digit decreases. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) statistics show a 26 percent drop in violent crime this year so far, compared to the same period last year.

A recent Department of Justice report shows that violent crime is down 35 percent since 2023, returning to the previous trend of decreasing crime that puts the District’s violent crime rate at its lowest in 30 years.

‘I Feel Shame, Guilt and Anger’: Hispanic Couple Who Voted for Trump Cry Racial Profiling After Being Detained By Border Patrol Agents––Regret Sets in

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 19:53

A Hispanic couple from a California border town says they were racially profiled and wrongfully detained by U.S. Border Patrol while scoping out campsites in Brawley, leading to a tense encounter they recorded and now want the public to see.

George and Esmeralda Doilez say what made the ordeal sting even more is that they twice voted for President Donald Trump, and then got FAFO’d — finding themselves caught up in Trump’s hardline immigration crackdown.

The Doilezes, both U.S. citizens, spoke to NBC7 San Diego, saying the stop happened the morning of Aug. 6 as they scouted land near the McCain Valley Recreation Area to pitch tents. They said a dark-colored, unmarked SUV began following them before activating a siren and pulling them over.

“We didn’t think we had anything to worry about,” George said.

According to the couple, agents initially approached wearing masks — a detail that immediately alarmed them. “Who does that? Criminals do that. Robbers and thieves do that. Kidnappers do that. And that’s what we’re seeing by our own government,” George said.

In a video taken by Esmeralda, an agent told the couple, “The reason why we’re stopping you is because you did U-turns and there’s a known alien out in the area.” George explained they were avid campers “exploring” before heading to a dentist appointment, and that he did not consent to a search.

“If you have a dentist appointment, it probably wasn’t the best decision to be out in the middle of nowhere,” the agent responded. George couldn’t believe his ears: “We have the right to travel anywhere we want to travel,” he fumed.

New York MAGA Congresswoman Faces Backlash for Struggling to Remember the Pledge of Allegiance Before Giving Up, But the Part She Forgot Is Telling

“You’re absolutely right you do, and I actually have the right and authority to stop you,” the agent shot back.

The couple believes they were targeted because of their race. “Why are we not allowed to be here? Because we’re not white? Our skin doesn’t match?” George said.

Agents called in a K-9 unit, which alerted to a small amount of legally purchased cannabis. An agent then said they had probable cause and threatened to arrest the couple unless they exited the vehicle for a full search.

“Terrified, terrified, absolutely terrified,” George recalled. “As a husband, you’re seeing your wife, you know, shaking and crying. Your natural instinct is: I got to do something to protect her. And then what is this going to lead to? In my mind, I’m thinking of so many things, OK? If I fight these guys, I’m going to lose. I could get killed out here. But why should I allow them to trample on my Constitutional rights? Why should I allow them to get away with this kind of stuff?”

After about 30 minutes, an agent told them they could seize the vehicle and issue a ticket, but instead let them off with a warning.

“This place is controlled by goons in masks in unmarked vehicles chasing down American citizens just because of the color of their skin,” George said. “Nobody should be afraid of their own government. They’re here to protect, to serve, not to be pirates.”

The Doilezes said the encounter has changed how they view the immigration policies they once supported. They voted for Donald Trump in both 2020 and 2024, but now regret it.

“I feel shame, guilt and anger at the same time because of the promises that he made that he lied to us about, going after the worst of the worst,” George said. “He lied on those and he stole our vote.”

The couple had been heading to a dentist in North County as part of ongoing treatment for George, who nearly died in a workplace accident two years ago that destroyed his jaw. Esmeralda said the stop brought back fears of losing him again.

“I did think that there might have been a chance,” she said through tears. “I remember sitting there crying, thinking like, ‘Oh, my God, if this happens, what’s going to happen? I’m going to see something bad. I don’t want to see that.’ We already went through something traumatic two years ago, so, you know — we don’t want to see something else even worse. I feel sad this is where we’re at. I can’t believe this is where we’re at.”

They said they felt compelled to speak out to raise awareness. “Do not comply, because complying is going to get you in a prison concentration camp,” George warned. “That’s what it’s going to do eventually. Maybe it might be sooner than we all think.”

“We can’t let them take our rights,” Esmeralda added. “Then we’re nothing.”

U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s official policy prohibits the consideration of race or ethnicity in law enforcement activities “in all but the most exceptional circumstances.” The agency says racial profiling — defined as using race or ethnicity as a factor in stops, searches, or investigations — is “premised on the erroneous assumption” that certain racial or ethnic groups are more likely to engage in misconduct. Any violation of this policy can result in disciplinary action.

Border Patrol has not commented publicly on the Doilez stop.

According to the American Civil Liberties Union, “the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution protects people from random and arbitrary stops and searches. Although the federal government claims the power to conduct certain kinds of warrantless stops within 100 miles of the U.S. border, important Fourth Amendment protections still apply.”

‘He Really Thought She was Gonna Stop Her Acting Career’: Halle Berry Issues Ice-Cold Comeback to Ex Who Said He Left Because She Didn’t Cook or Clean

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 19:29

Halle Berry is hitting back after her past dating life continues to be a trendy topic on social media. This week, one of her ex-husbands opened up about his marriage to the Hollywood legend in the 1990s.

Berry, 58, and David Justice, 59, were married from 1993 to 1997. What was once seen as a high-profile celebrity relationship ended on bad terms, leaving the Emmy and Oscar winning actress securing a temporary restraining order against Justice after they separated.

Justice recently appeared on the “All The Smoke” podcast. The retired Atlanta Braves outfielder sat down with former NBA players Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson and offered his side of why the marriage with Berry did not work out.

“In my mind, I’m thinking a wife at that time should cook, clean. Then I’m thinking, ‘OK, if we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with and build a family with?’” Justice explained to Barnes and Jackson.

The two-time World Series champion resumed, “At that time, as a young guy, she don’t cook, don’t clean, don’t really seem motherly, and then we start having issues.” Those comments ignited a firestorm on social media.

“Lol, he really thought she was gonna stop her acting career and become a housewife,” one person on X posted in response to Justice expecting the then-budding movie star to be more of a traditional spouse.

‘Why Is She Like This?!’: Frustrated Fans Call Out Halle Berry’s Bad Choice In Men as Actress Heads to Court to Fight for Sole Custody of Son

A second person tweeted, “If he don’t wanna cook and clean and wait at home for Halle to get back from work, I’ll take his place, sounds like an amazing life to me.” Someone else advised, “Oh Halle dodged a bullet for sure with this one.”

However, a Justice defender fired back, “The audacity of some of these women in the comments saying he’s not allowed to decide what he looks for in a partner.” One reply read, “I mean he can be with whoever will be with him but don’t buy a Ferrari and then get mad when you can’t pull your camper with it.”

Berry has now subtly responded to her ex-husband with a post on her social media accounts. The Academy Award winner shared a video of herself dancing in what appears to be the desert.

“‘You look happier.’ Thanks, I’m embracing menopause,” was written over the 6-second clip. On Aug. 11, one of Berry’s fans jokingly commented under the video, “You [should] be at home cooking and cleaning.”

That reference to Justice’s controversial take on “All The Smoke” earned acknowledgement from Berry. The former beauty pageant contestant replied, “I know right.” She also added a face with tears of joy emoji.

Over on TikTok, supporters of the “Monster’s Ball” star also cracked jokes about what Justice had to say about their relationship. One commenter continued Berry’s “embracing menopause” caption with “and ignoring the ex-husbands.”

A second person on the platform expressed, “Ex-hubby [is] mad he messed that up! YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL.” In addition, another fan declared, “She is never bothered.”

Justice also made headlines in recent days for opening up about how fast his marriage to Berry came together. The 1990 National League Rookie of the Year claimed he was not enthusiastic about tying the knot with the 1986 Miss USA first runner-up.

“She asked me to marry her after knowing me for five months. And I said, ‘OK.’ ’Cause I couldn’t say no. I said, ‘OK.’ But I don’t know if my heart was really into it. But I didn’t want to make her feel bad,” Justice stated.

Justice is currently married to jewelry designer Rebecca Villalobos. The pair wed in February 2001 and have three adult children together. They share two sons, David Justice Jr. and DJ Justice, as well as a daughter, Raquel Justice.

Berry’s dating history includes ex-boyfriends Shemar Moore, Michael Ealy, and Gabriel Aubry. The Ohio native was also married to Eric Benét from 2001 to 2005 and Olivier Martinez from 2013 to 2016.

Aubry is the father of Halle’s 17-year-old daughter Nahla Aubry. Martinez is the father of her 11-year-old son Maceo-Robert Martinez. Berry has been dating Grammy Award-winning musician Van Hunt since 2020.

‘What’s Happening!!’ Star Danielle Spencer’s Final Days Revealed as She Bravely Faced Three Life-Threatening Illnesses Before Tragic Turn

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 18:55

Fans are in mourning following the news that actress Danielle Spencer, best known for her role as Dee Thomas on the 1970s sitcom “What’s Happening!!” passed away on Aug. 12.

The former child star succumbed to a years-long battle with cancer at a Richmond, Virginia, hospital. She was 60.

Spencer had been battling for weeks in a Virginia hospital since her Aug. 1 admission, her mother, Cheryl Pelt, told TMZ. Surrounded by family, she was last alert and speaking on Sunday, Aug. 10, despite battling three separate illnesses.

According to her mother, Spencer was unable to eat hard foods or even get nutrients through tube feeding after turning septic from a urinary tract infection.

Pelt said her daughter went into “code blue” and became unresponsive. Medical staff attempted to revive her, eventually finding a pulse before transferring her to the ICU for more specialized treatment. Despite their efforts, her condition worsened.

Her co-star Haywood Nelson confirmed the news on Instagram. “Our brilliant, loving, positive, pragmatic warrior, without fail, has finally found her release from the clutches of this world and a body,” the actor, who played Dwayne Clemens Nelson, wrote.

In the comments, a follower remarked, “Oh No not Dee!! Sending my deepest condolences to get family! May she RIParadise.” A second fan wrote that they were “truly grateful for the talented young actress Danielle Spencer was, who brought me and siblings a lot of joy and laughter in our childhoods.”

Spencer was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 and underwent a double mastectomy in 2018 — but that is just one of the health complications she faced in her lifetime.

She starred on the Eric Monte series for three years, from 1976 to 1979. Her career, though, was nearly derailed in 1977 when she and her stepfather, Tim Pelt, were involved in a pileup incident on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

She suffered a broken pelvis and a broken leg and arm and was in a coma for three weeks. Pelt tragically did not survive the shocking tangle, leaving lasting implications on Spencer’s health. Still, she returned to work in 1985 to reprise her role as Dee on “What’s Happening Now!!”

Spencer starred alongside Ernest Thomas as Raj and Haywood Nelson as Dwayne. Sadly, some of the original cast members have passed away, including Mabel King (Mabel “Mama” Thomas, December 25, 1932 – November 9, 1999), Shirley Hemphill (July 1, 1947 – December 10, 1999), and Fred Berry (Rerun, March 19, 1951 – October 21, 2003).

The show ended after three seasons in 1987. The New Jersey native would go on to become a veterinarian, earning a doctorate degree from Tuskegee University. By 2014, she was paralyzed from the waist down, having already suffered from severe back issues for a decade.

Oh my heart. God Speed Danielle Spencer.

I don't know if there was a better child sitcom character than Dee from What's Happening.

Her delivery was sublime.

A GoFundMe was organized in 2019 to assist the actress with medical costs after she suffered for 42 years with debilitating headaches. That year, she underwent emergency brain surgery for a bleeding hematoma. Donors raised more than $10,000 to help with her rehabilitation.

She made infrequent appearances on screen before her passing, including in the movie “As Good as It Gets” and an episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Still Spencer’s passing was felt by many fans online. “This hurts my. Loved this show and she went through too much in life. She accomplished so much. Rest in Paradise,” wrote one person. Another said, “Oh no!!! I grew up watching her on What’s Happening. R.I.P. Danielle Thomas!!!”

‘Out of Control’: Indiana Cop Unloads Gun On Black Woman Fleeing Domestic Abuser and Gets Off; Family Sues

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 18:00

Dachena Warren-Hill, a 20-year-old Black woman, was attempting to drive away from the man who was abusing her when she was shot and killed by an Indiana police officer in 2023.

Officer Mark Guzman of the Fort Wayne police claimed he was in fear for his life when he opened fire, claiming she was driving her car directly toward him.

However, body camera footage released three months later shows Guzman was not directly in the car’s path because she was driving away from him when he opened fire.

Dachena Warren-Hill, bottom right, was 20 years old when she was shot and killed by an Indiana cop while trying to drive away from her abuser. (Photo: body camera and obituary)

Last week, her mother, Danisha Warren, filed a lawsuit in federal court against Guzman as well as the department’s former police chief and the man who was abusing her, Cedric Brown.

“The Fort Wayne Police Department is out of control,” Warren said during a protest last year, according to The Journal Gazette.

“It’s as if they’re trained to kill and not trained to protect and honor the community.”

According to the lawsuit filed by Indiana attorney D. Eric Neff on Aug. 4 on behalf of the victim’s mother:

In an attempt to flee the attack perpetrated by the Defendant, Cedric Brown, the deceased, Dachena Warren-Hill, ran to a vehicle, started it, and attempted to drive away from the attack.

Louisiana Cops Pointed Guns at Innocent Black Family’s Kids In Botched Night Raid, Offered No Apology—Then Said Something That Made It Even Worse

When Defendant, Officer Mark A. Guzman arrived at the residence of 5144 Winchester Road Fort Wayne, Indiana, deceased Dachena Warren-Hill, was attempting to flee the property in a vehicle, and she did not pose a serious threat to the safety of Defendant Officer, Mark A. Guzman, nor did she pose a serious threat to the safety of herself or any other person.

Without any attempt to use less lethal weapons to subdue the decedent, Dachena Warren-Hill, Defendant Officer Mark A. Guzman drew his service firearm, and fired multiple gunshots into the vehicle being driven by the deceased Dachena Warren-Hill.

Guzman was cleared of wrongdoing three months after the shooting by the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, which stated in a press release that “the officer was justified in using force, as he reasonably believed that force was necessary to prevent serious bodily injury or death himself and/or citizens of this community.”

And while the body camera video clearly shows Warren-Hill was driving away from her abuser and the cop, Fort Wayne police tried to justify it by saying in a press release that a 911 caller told a dispatcher “the vehicle was attempting to run over the officer that had arrived on scene.”

However, it is not clear where that caller was situated at the moment because she also referred to the driver as a male when the driver was female.

Watch the video below.

‘It Was a False Narrative’

The shooting took place on Nov. 19, 2023, when Fort Wayne police responded to a domestic abuse call at a home where they had previously responded multiple times over domestic violence calls.

Two callers described a chaotic scene involving people fighting outside the home, including a male who kept ramming his car into the house and garage, as well as trying to run over other people.

“You got a guy that is like trying to run people over and they’re out there fighting like they’re running into the house,” one caller said, according to a recording released by police.

The dispatcher relayed that information to Guzman, telling him there was a fight and a man inside a car ramming it into the house.

When Guzman arrived, he spotted a man running away from a car that was driving forward, making it appear as if the car was trying to run the man over.

“He’s trying to hit someone!” the cop said into his radio.

However, the man stepped out of the way, and the car continued driving forward toward the street while Guzman stood off several yards to the driver’s side of the car — nowhere near its direct path.

Nevertheless, he fired at least six shots at the car, killing the 20-year-old woman who was trying to escape her abuser, according to the claim.

Defendant Officer Mark A. Guzman lacked probable cause to believe that the decedent, Dachena Warren-Hill, posed a threat of serious harm to others, or herself, as demonstrated by the fact that she was attempting to flee the property where she was being battered.

The Defendant Officer Mark A. Guzman’s willful, malicious, and intentional act of shooting the decedent, Dachena Warren-Hill was an unreasonable seizure of her person, and an unconstitutional use of deadly force intended to punish the decedent, Dachena Warren-Hill, without due process of law.

The lawsuit accuses Guzman of unreasonable seizure and excessive force and accuses former Police Chief Steve Reed of neglecting to properly train his officers and adopting an “unconstitutional policy” that was followed by officers.

The claim also accuses Brown of assault and battery, which led to her hopping in the car to make an escape, resulting in her death, accusing Brown of “striking, grabbing and hitting her repeatedly in a rude, insolent and angry manner.”

“That as a direct and proximate result of the actions of the Defendant, Cedric Brown, the police were called to the scene,” the claim states.

“That as a direct and proximate result of the actions of the Defendant, Cedric Brown, the decedent Dachena Warren-Hill was killed by the police.”

It took three months after the shooting for police to release the body camera video, and they only did so after the cop was cleared of wrongdoing.

In June 2024, protesters gathered at the Allen County Courthouse to protest the shooting.

“It was a false narrative that she was trying to run over the police officer,” her mother, Danisha Warren, told the crowd of protesters at the time. “That came out to not be true once it took them 91 days to release the bodycam footage.”

‘It’s Time to Sue!’: Ignored for Months, Arizona Black Man Made One Change to His Rental Application and Got Instant Approval

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 15:17

Online personality Jonathan Moss typically cracks jokes, but this time he used his social media platform to expose rental discrimination in Scottsdale, Arizona.

It’s illegal, but one Arizona landlord, whom Moss did not name, turned away his rental application allegedly based on the color of his skin.

In a viral TikTok video, the comedian and content creator (who goes by “johnmosslol” online) told viewers he sent the application via email and regular mail to cover all the bases. His email profile included his photo.

Jonathan Moss used a photo of a man who trolled him online to apply for a rental home. (Photos: TikTok/StorieswithJonmoslol)

Moss then waited three long months with no response, during which he followed up about the rental several times. Suspecting there wasn’t a legitimate reason for the silence, the Las Vegas resident conducted an “experiment” to determine if he was being intentionally ignored.

“This is Brian,” he said in the TikTok video, pointing to a photo of a white man named Brian Davies. “Brian is going to be used for this experiment.”

“Ok, being that these individuals did not message me back and I have sent multiple emails [in June], let’s see how long it will take for them to reply to an email from Brian.” Brian appeared to have similar facial hair to Moss in the photo, which was a bathroom selfie, no less.

Within an hour, Brian was given the green light for the apartment and was told he could move in “right away.”

White Neighbor ‘from Hell’ Attacks Black Woman Over Guest Parking Spot, Leaves Her with Scratches, Video Shows, But That Was Not Enough for Police

“They replied damn near immediately,” said the shocked but perhaps not surprised comedian. “Now they’re asking for an ID and bank statements.”

The National Bureau of Economic Research found “rampant” racial discrimination in U.S. rental markets, according to a 2021 study cited by Vox. Using a bot and fictitious applicants, researchers discovered that property managers with available rentals were less likely to respond to inquiries from people with Black and Hispanic-sounding names.

The study then took it one step further by examining real-world outcomes. The results revealed that a non-response from a potential landlord “lowers the probability that a renter of color will ultimately inhabit a given property by 17.3 percent.”

At the time, the groundbreaking report was the “first available evidence on the relationship between disparate treatment and subsequent rental housing outcomes.” However, many in the Black community do not need a report to understand this.

Moss’ own experiment was inspired by an exchange he had on Facebook with the real Brian Davies, who challenged the very idea that housing and employment discrimination existed.

“Show me where I can get hired, but you can’t. Show me where I can live, but you can’t,” he wrote in a comment to Moss. “You can’t do it because it’s not true, the only thing stopping you or setting you back is yourself. It’s that simple.”

For many, waiting one hour versus three months was all the evidence needed.

“It’s called institutional racism,” wrote one TikTok user. Another lamented, “I hate that an experiment was needed to prove what we all knew.”

Many viewers encourage Moss to take legal action.

“It’s time to sue! You’ll be able to have that house at no cost!,” one viewer wrote.

‘She’s Dishonest and Has No Shame’: MAGA Republican Dragged Online for Video Showing Her Struggling to Remember the Pledge of Allegiance Before Doing Something Even More Disrespectful

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 14:10

Politicians are known to be forgetful. They’re especially good at forgetting campaign promises. If they don’t have a teleprompter, they’re likely to flub and forget parts of speeches, but forget the Pledge of Allegiance?

Republican lawmakers have long supported requiring students in K-12 public schools to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Americans learn the pledge when they’re children.

So, it’s especially strange that MAGA New York Rep. Nicole Malliotakis was unable to recite the pledge during a recent event at the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute.

The MAGA world has fixated on all things patriotic in recent years, worshipping President Donald Trump, who loves symbols of American power and likes to use them to his own advantage, including flags, bald eagles and of course the Pledge of Allegiance.

Embarrassingly, Malliotakis seemed to forget parts of the pledge, and then, toward the end, when it was clear she couldn’t remember the phrase “with liberty and justice for all,” she simply gave up and walked off the stage.

Social media had a field day.

“Let’s play ‘What If A Democrat Did This’? It would be talked about on Fox News for at least a week,” Dave Strong said on X.

Hundreds of people commented on TikTok, too. “Conveniently forgets… And justice for all,” one user observed.

Scott Jennings Forced to Eat His Words After CNN Panelist Serves Him Hard Truth About Trump and Cops

Another called it a “Freudian slip.”

Social media seemed to fixate on the part of the pledge she forgot.

“Wow, what a disgrace. How she decided to skirt ‘and justice for all’ is so intentional!” this Reddit user wrote

And this Reddit post from a Malliotakis constituent. “That’s my congresswoman! When I emailed her about the USAID cuts, I got a response about how $30k was spent on transgender comic books in Chile or something. What about the other millions of dollars, Nicole??? She also refuses to host a town hall and face her constituents. She’s dishonest and has no shame.”

The Hill reported 47 states require students to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools, with some exemptions for those who do not want to say it. In a 1943 Supreme Court case, justices determined that no school or government can compel someone to recite the Pledge of Allegiance or salute the flag.

However, states can still require it while offering exemptions, according to the Hill. And there are different levels of exemption. Florida and Texas, for example, only allow student exemptions if parents sign off on them.

‘You Know, Who Said That?’: Black CNN Panelist Forces Scott Jennings to Eat His Words As His Take on Trump and Cops Comes Back to Haunt Him

Wed, 08/13/2025 - 13:04

Conservative CNN analyst Scott Jennings was strangely silent and had his words come back to bite him in a clash on “CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip” Monday night during a panel discussion over President Donald Trump’s order sending the National Guard into the nation’s Capital to crack down on crime.

Trump made the announcement Monday that he was deploying the National Guard to Washington, D.C., and that the federal government would also seize control of the Washington Metropolitan Police Department.

“We’re taking our capital back,” Trump said Monday as he announced the takeover. “We’re taking it back.”

“I’m announcing a historic action to rescue our nation’s capital from crime, bloodshed, bedlam and squalor and worse,” Trump said. “This is Liberation Day in D.C., and we’re going to take our capital back.”

Crime is actually down in Washington, according to the latest statistics.

Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser called the moves “unsettling and unprecedented,” according to USA Today.

Tempers flared on CNN NewsNight during a discussion of Trump’s orders, which critics contend are an effort to distract from the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein scandal engulfing Trump and his administration.

Seneca Project co-founder and never-Trumper Tara Setmayer engaged in a heated conversation over Trump’s alleged plans to take over police departments in major U.S. cities.

Setmayer comes from a police family. She challenged the idea that Trump “backs the blue” with his order to seize control of D.C. policing and, oddly, even got a little help from right-wing pundit Jennings.

“It really is something that I just cannot tolerate when Trump supporters are trying to sit here and act as though Donald Trump supports and backs the blue. No, he doesn’t,” Setmayer said.

Setmayer pointed to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol, where Trump supporters injured officers and tried to prevent former President Joe Biden from assuming office. She also criticized how, on Trump’s first day in office in his second term, he pardoned every single rioter convicted of crimes, including those convicted of assaulting police officers.

Tara Setmayer goes scorched earth on Scott Jennings:

"I can’t tolerate when Trump supporters try to act as though Trump backs the blue. He doesn't.
He abdicated that because you know what? He did not defend the Constitution. And he violated his oath of office. You know who… pic.twitter.com/ayvJbfg3of

— The Seneca Project (@senecaprojectus) August 12, 2025

“You look at what Donald Trump did and what MAGA has done to the police officers who defended our Capitol on January 6th. You want to talk about spitting in the face? Donald Trump spit in the face of every single one of those officers who took that oath to protect and serve on January 6th when he pardoned those insurrectionist bastards and who wanted to take down our Capitol and stop the free and fair, peaceful transfer of power,” Setmayer pointed out.

Setmayer turned to Jennings.

“How dare people sit here and say that he backs the blue? He abdicated that, because, you know what? He did not protect or defend the Constitution and he violated his oath of office,” she pointed out.

“You know, who said that? You did after January 6th. And that’s exactly what he continues to do right now with the way he is throwing around our military, our police, talking about moving us to other states. This is something people should be very concerned about,” she added.

Setmayer likely was referring to Jennings’ CNN interview as the insurrection was underway, when he suggested Trump was a threat and might need to leave office immediately.

Jennings did not respond until host Abby Phillip asked him to comment on Setmayer’s remarks because Trump said sending the National Guard into Washington was about “respect” for police. Phillip said it makes it hard to say seizing control of Washington’s police department is about “respect” for the police when Trump didn’t care about officers on January 6.

“Well, look. What happened to the cops that day was a disgrace. They didn’t deserve to be treated that way. They were defending the Capitol,” Jennings said.

“I think what the President is responding to today is, what can I do today? D.C. is the only city I really have control of, so I’m going to try to give them some support. He’s getting a note of confidence from the D.C. police union. I suspect if they did things in other cities, other police unions in those cities would also offer some support,” Jennings added.

Setmayer shot back: “If he controls D.C., why didn’t he do it on January 6th?”

‘Why Even Wear Them’: UFC Fighter Humiliated as Official Puts On Display Intimate Item She Forgot to Remove at Weigh-In

Mon, 08/11/2025 - 23:19

Angela Hill had her intimate item exposed in front of the world.

On the night before she was defeated by Iasmin Lucindo, Hill did a weigh-in for the UFC Vegas 109 fight that left her embarrassed because of the clumsiness of a male official. The 40-year-old initially stepped on the scale showing all of her pearly whites, but seconds later, she had her head buried in her hands.

She started by stepping on the scale, but quickly stepping off to take off her inserts. To ensure she was being weighed accurately,  she stepped to the side and turned slightly away from the stage to slide the inserts out of the pockets of her bra. Stacking them on top of one another, she quickly handed them to the suited UFC staff member who seemed frantic on what to do with them.

Looking quickly around the scale, he moved back and forth trying to find a place for them before deciding to lay them atop it. But his hands got slippery, and while he was successfully able to place one on the machine, the other went flying on stage.

Hill, who was wearing a black bra and weigh-in underwear to match, simply smiled and covered her face with her hands. Shortly after, the announcer revealed that Hill weighed in at 116 pounds, which fits around the weight class that she is currently in.

Hill is in the strawweight division, which according to the UFC website page is the “lightest division” with a maximum limit of 115 pounds. However, because Hill is a non-title bout, “strawweight athletes have a one-pound leeway on the scale.” As for title bouts, athletes are restricted to no more than 115 pounds.

After announcing her weight, Hill, with her auburn colored french braids resting on her shoulders, smiled and carefully placed the bra inserts back into her training bra.

Fans responded to the incident in the comments of Verdict MMA’s Instagram video.

One person asked, “Why even wear them out at that point?”

Someone else wrote, “Dude putting them on the scale is hilarious.”

Diario Uno reposted the video on their Instagram page where others left more comments.

One person said, “How do you even think of giving it to the man?”

A second said, “Poor old man, he didn’t know where to get in.”

Hill faced off with Lucindo on Saturday, Aug. 9, and suffered a loss at the hands of her 23-year-old opponent. Hill is a veteran in the industry and has been an MMA fighter since 2014. She held her own in the first round against Lucindo and even started off well in the second. However, the later half of the second round and the third round were dominated by Lucindo.

According to Rotoballer, Lucindo landed 72 strikes on Hill, while the “Overkill” fighter got 64 strikes.

Though she is 40, Hill told MMA Junkie Radio before fighting Lucindo that she has no plans to retire soon.

“I think just keeping that momentum going and see how long I can push it, see how good I can get, how high I can climb. I’m motivated by the close decisions I’ve lost because I feel like in an alternate universe, I would’ve fought for the belt by now,” she said.

‘Do Something About It’: Black TikToker Delivers Genius Clapback to Racist Who Told Him to ‘Go Back to Africa’ In His Comments

Mon, 08/11/2025 - 21:00

A Black TikToker posted a clever, satirical comeback to a racist comment on his page, telling him to “Go back to Africa.”

In response to the remark left on his feed, Gregory Lakhan, who goes by @SirGregolas on TikTok, sarcastically advocated that racists finance his move to Africa.

“Alright, folks, you asked and you shall receive, so let’s f***ing make this s*** happen,” Lakhan said in the clip.

TikToker Trillyshakes (Photo: TikTok/Trillyshakes)

Lakhan, a New Yorker who uploads video essays and music videos to his channel, started the fundraising campaign asking people who leave racially-charged comments on his videos to donate to a $30,000 fundraiser to sponsor his move overseas.

Lakhan pointedly launched the campaign on GiveSendGo, a crowdfunding site that has drawn controversy for allowing far-right extremist groups to fundraise on its platform.

The site drew immense backlash earlier this year for permitting a campaign that raised funds for Shiloh Hendrix, a Minnesota woman who was seen on a viral video calling a 5-year-old Black boy the n-word multiple times on a playground. Over the last five months, the campaign raised more than $800,000 in donations, many of which were made by white supremacists, racists, and alt-right extremists.

Lakhan took to his TikTok page last month, announcing that people interested in funding his relocation to Africa can make donations on his GiveSendGo page titled, “Help Me Return To Africa For Good!”

“Don’t just waste your time and energy writing angry comments in my comment section. Actually, do something about it. You can actually make a difference,” Lakhan wryly states in the clip while uplifting music plays in the background.

On the GiveSendGo page, Lakhan reveals that the funds raised won’t actually bankroll his move out of the U.S. Instead, all donations will go to his film school fund.

He wrote that he “jokingly dared bigots to fund my hypothetical one-way ticket out of America. The internet exploded—but shocker, the ‘send her back’ crowd wouldn’t put a single dollar behind their nonsense.”

He continued: “I’m converting their wasted energy into something useful: my Film MFA in NYC. With your help, I’ll turn their trolling into tuition—and their hate into art.”

The video racked up eight million views on TikTok, drawing praise from amused viewers.

“Sometimes it’s not about what racism does TO you, but what racism can do FOR you,” one person wrote.

“This is God level sarcasm. Respect!!!” someone else added.

“This was a master class in marketing,” another comment reads.

Although Lakhan’s campaign to relocate isn’t genuine, there is a sincere call from African leaders encouraging Black Americans to move back to the continent.

Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo, initiated the “Year of the Return” in 2019, marking the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans to English North America. At the launch of that initiative, he granted citizenship to more than 100 African-Americans and Afro-Caribbeans in a special homecoming ceremony.

In the years since, Akufo-Addo has advocated that world leaders establish a Global Reparation Fund to compensate millions of descendants of enslaved people.

Data shows that as many as 1,500 Black Americans have moved to Ghana since 2019. Last year, the country said it hosted a ceremony granting citizenship to more than 500 people, primarily Black Americans.

Several other countries are welcoming African Americans to become long-term residents, some of which are granting full citizenship based on ancestry.

On the other hand, the African country of Liberia was formed in the early 19th century as a colony for free Black people and formerly enslaved people from the United States and became an independent republic in 1847.

‘Just Please Stop Talking!’: Gas Station Clerk Spirals After Black Man Asks for Refund Over Faulty Pump, Accuses Him of Scamming, Then Admits to Bias on Camera

Mon, 08/11/2025 - 12:48

It started as a mix-up at a Speedway gas pump. But by the time it was over, a white cashier falsely accused a Black customer of trying to pull one over on her and take his money back.

The tense exchange, captured on video and now viral on Instagram, unfolded against the backdrop of an anti-diversity movement that was being stoked by the highest levels of government, and in a country where Black people have increasingly turned to filming such encounters as protection against being lied about later.

The footage picks up with the argument already in progress. The customer asked the woman to “call your manager,” while she insisted, “I cannot do anything about it.”

A video screenshot shows a Speedway cashier speaking on a phone. (Tiktok/SD)

“I just told you, I paid for that gas. My son forgot …” the man began to explain, but before he could finish, the cashier cut him off.

“Can you stop filming me? Like this, it’s actually weird,” she said.

“It’s a public place,” the man replied.

“It is, still …” she complained. “You’re filming me aren’t you?” he pressed.

“No, I’m calling my manager,” she fired back.

“That’s what I asked you to do first,” he reminded her.

“And she’s not gonna pick up because it’s 10 o’clock at night,” she argued.

The man tried to steer the conversation back to the core issue: “But you just said I’m trying to scam you.”

“You are trying to scam me,” she insisted.

Black Woman Says Southwest Airlines Flight Crew Forced Her to the Back of the Plane After She Refused to Give Up Her Armrest to a Larger White Passenger

When the manager finally answered the phone, the cashier wasted no time framing the encounter in loaded terms: “Tracy, these people are trying to scam me!”

“These people?” the man asked, clearly offended but still calm.

“These people, yes, cause I don’t know your names, would you like to give me your names?” she snapped.

The historic parallels were grimly familiar. Nearly 70 years ago, a white woman’s false claim that 14-year-old Emmett Till had whistled at her in a Mississippi store led to his brutal lynching. Today, while the stakes in this dispute were far different, the reflex to cast a Black man as menacing — even in a routine disagreement over a $20 gas purchase — draws from the same well of racial suspicion and entitlement that made Till a target in 1955.

Back at the Speedway, the Black man demanded to know, “Why are you yelling at me, though? Am I yelling at you?”

The cashier paused, then told her boss that the customer was trying to cheat her — even as the man produced a receipt showing he hadn’t pumped the gas he’d paid for. Without realizing it, she essentially admitted her own mistake, telling the manager: “Tracy, these people came in here and they are telling me that I did not pump their, that they did not pump their gas, but on the receipt it says minus $19.73 and they got whatever change.”

By her own math, the store still owed the man nearly the entire $20 he had just paid.

“I’m gonna sit here until the cops come or your manager comes because I am not trying to scam you, there’s no gas in my car,” the man stood his ground.

The cashier stared into space, seemingly processing that he might be right. “I don’t understand,” she said in frustration, before picking up the receipt for a closer look.

“You’re getting aggravated and agitated and telling me you’re gonna threaten to call the cops,” the man pressed again.

In her ear, the manager tried to bring clarity. The cashier’s demeanor suddenly shifted, as if she’d just been told she was wrong. But she still resisted admitting fault outright and started rambling.

“He’s, he’s … they’re just like, I don’t know, they’re freaking me the f-ck out, and I can’t do this!” she yelled, flailing her arms before reaching into the register to hand over a refund.

The man asked why she felt “freaked out,” but she snapped, “Under pressure!”

“What pressure?” he retorted.

On speaker phone, the manager could be heard asking, “Are you OK? Calm down.”

“I can’t calm down, Tracy, I’m sick today and I don’t feel good,” the cashier sobbed, her voice cracking as she counted the man’s change.

“Why would I scam you for 20 dollars of gas?” he asked.

“Just please stop talking, Jesus Christ,” she said through tears.

“Are you serious, dude, do I threaten you that much?”

She finished counting the change and shoved the bills toward him.

“Please get out of my store, go, there’s your change, go …”

The man refused to be brushed off. She then swapped the bills for a crisp $20, saying, “You want the $20 bill back, I will give you the $20 bill back, here you go, here you go.” She slammed the drawer of the register shut. “Please leave now, there you go.”

“Thank you, have a good day,” he said, walking out.

“No, you have a great night, get out of my store,” she grumbled, adding, “Ridiculous.”

That reignited the exchange. “Why would I lie to you do you want to see my …”

The woman cut him off, finally admitting she was at fault.

“I made a mistake. I f-cked up. I’m sorry, it’s been a long night I … I didn’t read it correctly,” she conceded. “I am apologizing. I am sorry.”

“Learn customer service, OK,” he said.

“I do have customer service,” she yelled back.

“Not all Black people are threatening, OK,” he said, turning back once more.

“Yeah, you are,” she argued. “I’ve been raped by multiple Black people so I don’t care what you have to say or what you’re filming.”

“I came here for gas,” he said.

“I don’t care,” she screamed. “And I gave you your money back, I gave you money.”

He tried to point out that what happened to her in the past doesn’t justify her behavior toward him.

“I said I was sorry, I said that I messed up, I said I read it wrong.”

Online reaction was swift.

“She needs to clock out,” one person wrote.

Many felt she had no business in a public-facing job, showing no ability to handle a simple customer dispute without lashing out, projecting, and leaning on racist stereotypes when challenged. Others accused the man of “rage baiting.” “You see she’s obviously upset and making mistakes, why add fuel to an already lit flame?” one commenter asked.

But for many who saw the video, the lesson was unmistakable: in today’s America, where racial tensions are on edge, it doesn’t take much for an everyday mistake to morph into an accusation steeped in bias. The hair-trigger leap from a minor error to false accusations is exactly why so many Black Americans now instinctively hit “record” before the truth can be rewritten.
